Decline Of The Server Population

Did the devs remove ELO or tinker with it to give a broader range?
We had lots of new players in our matches as well with a high amount of "I start in 3rd person mode" with a "green" mech or running stock loadouts (not only on the sabre pack mechs).
What I really liked about yesterday night was the weight setup in 90% of the matches.
We had the teams mostly consisting of mediums with 1-3 heavies, 1-2 lights and maybe 1-2 assaults.
In this case a "suddenly" appearing Atlas on Frozen City caused real havoc before it was put down and it felt like a real threat for our team.
He took out 2 before being put down, I think the Atlas pilot felt as being in an assault mech as well.

I have however noticed that my wait times are a lot longer then they use to be. It might be just because of the time I play though.
you are not the only one. I am in the same mood as you.

try playing dark souls or devil may cry with a keyboard, then come tell me how much fun and easier it was. Some games just fit better with them, this one though isnt one.

Since there's no lobby and the in-game chat is so ridiculous (buggy typing, no buffer/recall, etc) it's hard to get to "know" people in-game.
There are times where it seems like I drop with/against the same people 3-4 times in a row, but that could just be a function of ELO rather than a small player base.

The matchmaker doesn't work at all, well not how we are lead to believe, some of the team match ups are in a whole new realm of ridiculous.
Disconnects happen in more than half the games i play, 10 v 12 is a regular thing now, tonnage differences are crazy in way to many games.
Teams of mediums with a couple of heavies/assaults pitted against teams of assaults with a couple of mediums/heavies.
Frustration at the matchmaking isn't strong enough a word for it, current system can only drive people away, shame PGI can't see it.

That said, I do think the population is struggling. But it's struggling because of lack of endgame content more than anything else. Everything other problem is exaggerated and survivable, judging from the fact that most of the forum complainers still play quite frequently by their own admission.

ppl like me use it. Let me tell you why. I have a gaming laptop, no desk, no cumfy chair, no gaming mouse, only bed and a TV. The only comfortable position for me is with a gamepad. I play war thunder, planetside 2 and hawken the same way. Its not ideal but what can i do.

But if you're happy with what you have, more power to you.
(Oh, or you could go the trackball route).

But i still dont have a desk to use it on. So the litle tiny mouse is used on the surface like bed, chair, my tummy, my upper leg. lol i dont deserv to be a PC gamer

Oh and thank you for understanding.

It could be because of the new "Skirmish" game mode. If the same amount of players are split into three queues instead of two, it will obviously take longer to find a game.

The matchmaker can't work miracles. Its not going to fix someones computer or internet connection and
Telling people they aren't allowed to use certain mechs, or disbanding their group so their premade lance can't play, will drive 100x more people away my friend. I really hope PGI"s see's that!
Plus any matchmaker is always better the more people there are playing, and this is a very small community. To be honest this is the best matchmaker I've seen in any game. Especially since it has more to attributes and other things to assess then most games. How many games have you played? I'm curious what is your W/L ratio? is it that bad?
I suggest you wait for them to add another game option that will at least have weight limits, like they already promised.
I have no problem finding games in any mode. You guys who can't find any matches must be super pro. You should start training people so there are more at your elite lvl to play with haha.

People who actually know how to use their computer don't get viruses.
Viruses infect people who are too stupid to avoid doing the things which allow infection... I honestly cannot recall the last time I've actually had any of my machines infected by anything.
If you are constantly getting your machine infected with viruses, it's because you are doing stupid things with your machine. You are either exposing your machine to the external world without a firewall, or you are manually installing malicious software on your own machine. That's really the only way it can happen.
Viruses don't just magically appear on your machine, dude... and honestly, the only folks who think that they do are old people who essentially think that their computer is powered by magic.

lol you sound like the typical arrogant criminal who gets hacked by the FBI or NSA lol. Or the typical computer dude blaming users for their problems in his dying industry, simply so he can feel superior and smarter. People are not as dumb as you think. Delusions of grandeur?
When NBC.com was giving people viruses not too long ago, you can no longer say its the users fault anymore. Thats despicable. Its happening to too many websites to count nowadays. Microsoft, apple, and facebook headquarters all got hacked the same week last year. And they don't even know what the hackers did on their servers...lol. (or they didn't wanna say) If you do anything on your computer at all your exposed and vulnerable.
Ya the head of IAD for the NSA is dum according to you. She says all their phones are prolly hacked and wants to manufacture their own. The presidents ipad got hacked dude(which they now took apart and hardened), so did the first ladies email. These things happen.
The only people who think otherwise, are people who aren't that active with their pc, or too stupid or arrogant to know their virused, because their scanners tell them otherwise.
Firewalls aren't perfect. and virus scanners can't keep up with the million new viruses made every month that don't even stay in the wild long. People hack banks, you think your norton is going to stop them if your targeted? lol... Granted a insider USB helps....but The only difference with a firewall, is how long it takes. They can be persistent for months or a year even. people have no lives. They would rather do that then play video games. Just keep thinking happy thoughts, or that your too smart for it to happen to you.
Security by obscurity eh? Ya, no thanks. I'd rather use my computer I paid for instead of letting these hackers take away my freedoms by being too afraid to use it.

And yet, I use multiple machines, constantly throughout every single day, and NONE of them have ever been infected by viruses in YEARS of use.
There are two explanations for that... either My assertion regarding how viruses are transmitted is correct, and you can easily protect yourself if you understand how to use a computer, or I've just gotten miraculously lucky. Oh, and my friends have also all gotten equally lucky.
Sorry dude, but your belief that everyone is running around with infected computers is nonsensical and incorrect.

-no clan wars.
-no lobby.
-no reliable match maker.
-lots of new things to spend real money on.
It's unfortunate that the devs have lied to us for years. I will drop in again in 6 months to see if the above 4 things have changed, if so, I can add to your obviously declining -> non-existant player base.
