Based on the Photoshopped image to make the shadow look less-distorted, I think that the 'mech can be either a Hellbringer or a Timber Wolf. I think it might be a Hellbringer since the shoulder boxes look like they're different sizes (one is a Streak SRM launcher, the other is a big spotlight).

With the shadow as it is originally in the screen shot, I think it's a powered-down Griffin or Wolverine 7K, the shoulder boxes either being the Griffin's shoulder panels, or the Wolverine 7K's shoulder-mounted SRM launchers.

And this whole money grab stuff is stupid. It's only a money grab if you really have to spend money on it. For example, the red light cameras in Rochester, NY, and New York City are a blatant money grab.

Whoops, it looks like one of us here at IGP pressed the wrong button and put some screens somewhere publically accessible. Seeing as this is already out, we’re going to leave this thread open, but please keep in mind for the future that unreleased content should not be posted on the forums.

riiiiiiiiight. Of all the screenshots that aren't supposed to be posted here, the one with a very suggestive shadow that conveniently makes us theorize what it's gonna be about is the one that accidentally got "leaked".

;)

How can you have timberwolf if they havent even implemented missile racks as limbs... What are they gonna count as? Man I feel like MWO is like a dumbed down version of previous MW games.

PGI will likely take the (easier) TT route and make them count as side torsos, and then make the CT huge to compensate for having such huge side torsos. Unless some kind of art department miracle happens here, the Mad Kitty will probably get the worst of both worlds between big-CT style hitboxes and big-side-torso styled hitboxes.

they stated the part of the point of the Phoenix releases and such was to free up time to focus on UI2.0 and the Clans. Clans sorta require new mechs, and the people working modeling and weapons balance are no the same are those coding the UI.

Am I confident they will meet the schedule? Verdict is out, but I believe I will wait til the deadline is passed to accuse them of failing.

I don't doubt that they will be able to produce the 'Mechs themselves. They've kept up a steady release rate of one mech per month, and the Phoenix package has proven that their internal production rate can be even higher. That said, even if the art department doesn't seem to have any problems, actually implementing the mechs is going to be trickier. The two main issues there seem to be balance (how to not instantly obsolete all the older IS mechs upon release) and marketing (how to not have the clan invasion invalidate Community Warfare).

spot on.

But, the other thing I have to figure, is they won't be perfectly tuned and balanced on first arrival, they will need tweaks. That's been the MO here and in most F2P games.

Of course they will need tuning and tweaking after release, but I'm not entirely confident it will actually happen properly. PGI seems very erratic on that front. For example, LRMs have gone through quite an aggressive cycle of changes and I feel they are now in a pretty decent place. On the other hand, surely you remember the mantra of ECM ‘working as intended’ being used right up until it wasn't? Ultimately, I'll just have to wait and see.

I need another set of eyes. All I can see is a Timber Wolf, but I'm having a hard time believing they would have that modeled and ready-to-go. What else could make that silhouette Apparently, I somehow missed that they said they had one Clan 'mech ready to go, so this all makes perfect sense.

At this point, I'm pretty much 100% certain it's a Timber Wolf. This image was found on mechwarriorclans.com when someone wanted to take that domain but it was already taken. He snooped around the usual directories and found several pictures in the images directory. The rest of the album can be found here.

The heroic lurker then contacted me to see what I thought. While I was initially skeptical, the fact that IGP owns the domain, their immediate-removal response, and Niko's posts all point to teaser images of the Clan invasion that weren't supposed to be up yet.

To those saying it was an intentional leak, it's feasible but entirely unlikely. This particular lurker's posting history does not show any signs of sneaky IGP. Plus, why would they contact me instead of just making a throwaway and putting it up? I can hope this was a super-ninja leak by them, but I highly doubt it.

Coupled with the rumor of an upcoming 35 tonner, I'm gonna say this is a Toro.

If (When) Clans come out before U.I. 2.0 I will be among the first Inner Sphere warriors to drop those 'superior' warriors in my Wolverine. Advanced tech doesn't make up for skill and I plan on showing that pridefully as a freebirth from House Davion. (Specially when the tech will probably be equal with IS equipment, if not worse with how balancing has been. WOOT!)

Extinct. IIRC, the only one left at this point in the timeline is a museum piece.

The good folks at PGI have proven plenty capable of just making things up when they need a new variant.

AWS-PB, anybody?

AWS-PB is a hero design and so far that is the only designs that they are making from scratch. They may start making regular variants from scratch to act as fillers so that they can being in mechs with too few variants for our timeline but I do not see that happening until after the Clans. Right now they have too many designs to bother with something that is not guaranteed to bring in money like heroes do.

wasn´t it 2 months ago when they told us, they´d have the design ready for the Timber? 2 month is enough time to get a rough model ready, or even more

plus PR wise it would make perfect sense to give us piece after piece now and then... if PGI is expert in something, then it´s teasing <_<

and why is the post before mine 1 hour in the future lol?
