Because to many people will buy the Clans thinking they are OP as they are in Lore to be disappointed. ow PGI works.

Trust me, we all expect the worst from PGI's vision of Clan tech.

That everyone does. But the fact Clans might come out before the fabled U.I. 2.0 and CW is reason enough to believe PGI has lost focus on what they are doing. The Clans will be just a money grab and a LOT of people will buy it. Hell I won't lie, I will to because I love the Timberwolf. But all the same, every feature PGI has been working on before hand will be put on the back burner to develop and 'balance' clan tech. U.I. 2.0 won't come out any time soon because of the Clans.

Frankly, I don't know how to handle this =D
- I am going to ignore all the grime of the speculation machine that is omnipresent and concentrate on the topic at hand:

What The.... A leak or no leak, I wasn't expecting to see that silhouette =D
- I don't care of anything right now to be honest; all I know is that I Will be kitting my Vicky against the Clanners, and I will tear them to shreads with my big girl, period.

Be it even 5 years from now, heck, I've waited for a possibility of using good old fashioned Star League era mechs/technology against the Clanners, and seeing how the old fashioned Museum grade technology deals its blows against the atrocious & refined war-machines of the Clans.
- So I want my Phoenix Hawk with the Warhammer, just so that I can show what the very best of IS has to offer against the "Trueborns", along with my Vicky.

Who says they are coming before UI 2.0? Bryan told us more than a month ago that they already had a few completed Clan 'Mechs (i do not remember if he meant concepts or models however) ..

That's just the thing though. U.I. 2.0 has been on the works for a very long time and still has yet to be released. People have been talking about Clans and, from your sig, made Clans a faction in the game even though the tech and mechs are not there. Plus, where as Mechs are fairly easy to make, as we have seen from the past with the Phoenix Pack and every other mech released, it is quite possible we can see Clans before U.I. 2.0. Just sayin'. and if thats the case, we need to hope and pray Clan Tech is not OP and does not makes IS equipment obsolete. I love my IS gear and mechs.

The shadow could be a powered down Griffin. There is a small antenna on the head and the Griffin's shadow is strecthing out so much, it is giving the shoulders the impression of "Mad Cat" ears.

Hands downs, I think its a Griffin.

I am glad to hear that you love your spheroid tin cans called "BattleMechs"
Yeah we have been using IS 'Mechs for a long time but actually. . If that Timberwolf is really going to come out soon.. I may wait another month to let them make a new arm model instead of apparently recycling the Cataphract's arms .. Same for the MechLab in UI 2.0.

However, i have to agree that making new 'Mech models is far easier and less time-consuming than a persistent star map or a new user interface.

Just right click the background and select view background image, you can see it clearly then.

every mech is clearly an older existing design.

next question is, when is the clan pack coming out for another 80 bucks. next PGI money grab:P

if it bothers you so greatly, it's pretty easy to NOT spend the money and troll the forums to some game you actually still play.

Yea, the gun barrel looking object would be a PPC barrel on the arm and this is the (P) version with the larger wings. Either way, if it is the Madcat and they don't mind us talking about because we now are generating buzz in this thread and people will be here talking about it.

I think it's not a Hunchback with double hunch, because the waist is too slim, the forearms are too bulky, and where is the head? I think it's not a Griffin, either, because the Griffin has asymmetrical shoulders and there should also be a bit of the head between the shoulders. Also, it doesn't have such thin upper arms.

I don't think there is any chassis currently in game that could produce this shadow.

Hunchie has a pretty slim waist, compared to the way its upper legs and shoulders stand out, you need to look at the Hunch's forearms again (dude, they're flippin' huge), and the head would be pretty unnoticeable from that angle.

What I meant with slim waist is that in the shadow, there is a big distance between the end of the legs and the start of the "chest", that is very slim. The Hunchback has a slim waist, but it's almost nonexistant in height. Also, concerning the arms, if you think it's a hunchback, the light would have to come from almost directly behind, or in front of the mech (no torso rotation relative to the light angle), because otherwise, the hunches would never look like in the shadow, which means it cannot be hunchback arms, because the hunchback doesn't have a box on the side of the forearm that goes from the wrist to the elbow.

While the last point could be moot because of the remodeling, I would still bet 100$ on it not being a hunchback. The waist and lack of head make it impossible.

i wouldn't say the griffin because the shadow looks alot different than the twitter images
i'd say it has to be a mech of some sort
it has 1 noodle arm (Thor / Mad cat /Hellbringer)
two large shoulder boxes (Hunchback IIC or Timberwolf
it has a skinny waist were the torso and legs connect which is much like a Vulture or timber wolf
the other arm with the box appears to be a hand with some sort of weaponry
my theory is it's a omnimech or a timberwolf

I don't care about new mechs. At this rate, I won't be playing very much longer. I'm patient, mind you. I just would like PGI to release what they said they would and not give us crappy fillers in the form of new mechs. That's the kind of {Scrap} that's been alienating this community. It's what makes people stop playing. Half the merc corps have disbanded by now and most of my friends list is red and it's a LOOOOONG friends list. And it keeps going more red day by day. Mechwarrior Online, you're dying. Time to go see a doctor and fix yourself before you end up dead.

they stated the part of the point of the Phoenix releases and such was to free up time to focus on UI2.0 and the Clans. Clans sorta require new mechs, and the people working modeling and weapons balance are no the same are those coding the UI.

Am I confident they will meet the schedule? Verdict is out, but I believe I will wait til the deadline is passed to accuse them of failing.

If (When) Clans come out before U.I. 2.0 I will be among the first Inner Sphere warriors to drop those 'superior' warriors in my Wolverine. Advanced tech doesn't make up for skill and I plan on showing that pridefully as a freebirth from House Davion. (Specially when the tech will probably be equal with IS equipment, if not worse with how balancing has been. WOOT!)

I'll gladly use your Wolverine as a bullet shield for my Griffin, much the way you Davions are using the whole LyrCom! ;)
