Thank you!. I was just going to ask if someone could stretch out that shadow in photoshop or something.

Jesus those arm pods are enormous.

Those legs are humanoid, not chicken-style like the Mad Kitteh. Also, the chest doesn't seem to poke out as far as the Mad Cat's "cone" does. It seems much more flat and humanoid.

My bet is on the Hellbringer:

Mad Cat uses reverse-jointed knees like this, and notice the long "cone" shaped torso:

I'm sorry but that looks like a black outline of Alex's cover art for the Battletech Alpha Strike book. Which is a Mad Cat! Keep in mind guys it's a distorted 2d image. Those missile pods are to big to be a Loki and where the reverse joint leg is supposed to be is cut off. Not to mention again it's 2d and if it is Alex's cover it's torso twisted so it would be very difficult to make out the legs. IMLTHO it's a very very good hoax. Since when has PGI ever had this good a marketing idea?

If the legs were reverse-jointed, the upper legs would be rotated to point behind the mech. Iqfish's image edits depict the upper legs pointing straight underneath the mech.

It still looks exactly like Alex's cover art for Alpha Strike. http://boardgamegeek...ch-alpha-strike

Edit: also as a 2d shadow image, depending on the angle it the legs would undoubtably resemble going straight down even if they were angled back. Not to mention if the mech in questions back is to the light source the "cone" cockpit would not be visible entirely.

Except for the legs. Here is a very sloppy MS paint picture to better illustrate the difference between leg archetypes:

Yeah but because it's a shadow it's going to look straight. It would never show any bent angle because the light source is behind it and we only have a small portion of the legs. While your masterpiece is correct in it's depiction, it's from the wrong angle. We aren't getting a side view. We're getting a shadow, from a light source behind it giving the equivalent of a front on view of the mech. That is in 2d so unlike a 3d rendered cataphract that has that reverse joint we can see it when it's head on but because it's a flat surface the legs give the appearance of being straight.

I would've drawn the leg comparison from a diagonal view if I had the skillz. :\

Anyways, the original and modified shadow pictures are shown from a diagonal view, not head-on. A diagonal view would or at least should contain some elements of both the head-on dimension and side-dimension.

that is MadCat. Except the legs when I look at any angle seem odd for a chicken walker. So actually, Loki is a very good likelihood, with the straight trousers. And if the weapòn pods are as bulky as the shadow suggests, I think that is a very good thing, from a gameplay and aesthetic perspective, both.

Please don't release clan mechs before UI 2.0 or atleast the first phase of CW.

gotta disagree, unless the light angle and the legs are totally in line, light directly from the back. Any angle SHOULD show some degree of angle. There is NONE. So while it COULD be the ChickenWalker, that would be pretty perfect angle to catch straight legs in the shadow. The thighs also will be very very bulky if that is a madcat, a very poor choice.

For reference the mad cat and similar mechs have digitigrade legs. This is when the knee joint bends backwards from the body's forward facing trunk rather than forwards.

yeah, that's what we are debating. The Legs are the possible wrench in the gears. That and the angñle of shadow perspective, I would expect the "left" shoulder rack to be casting the bigger shadow, if they were off equal size boxes. That and their torso tucked position, along with the legs, make me lean toward Hellbringer, with it's thick thighs, straights legs, and slightly smaller spotlight shoulder, slightly larger missile rack right shoulder.

That, and tbh, compared to the missile racks, the torso "bullets" would be rather... bulky lookin gif it indeed is the TimberWolf.
