After dorking around with a Locust on the River City testing grounds for a few minutes, it finally occurred to me that the mech in the picture could just be torso-twisted so that its legs are parallel to the light source (thus not displaying the upper leg angled backwards) and its upper body is twisted diagonally...there's some very sneaky stuff brewing in here. Although Bishop did bring up some points about thick thighs not making much sense for a Mad Kitty (and some other characteristics such as shoulder rack sizes), so there is still some doubt.

Right now we just have to figure out the legs conundrum and we'll be set.

I feel like a lot of people are seeing what they want to see, rather than the most likely possibility. Lol

yeah, that's what we are debating. The Legs are the possible wrench in the gears. That and the angñle of shadow perspective, I would expect the "left" shoulder rack to be casting the bigger shadow, if they were off equal size boxes. That and their torso tucked position, along with the legs, make me lean toward Hellbringer, with it's thick thighs, straights legs, and slightly smaller spotlight shoulder, slightly larger missile rack right shoulder.

That, and tbh, compared to the missile racks, the torso "bullets" would be rather... bulky lookin gif it indeed is the TimberWolf.

I know... I just couldn't take "chicken legs" anymore. We're talking about the Timberwolf after all, and "chicken legs" is so undignified.

Ehhhh Still not sold. I no longer see a Mauler, but a rework of the Warhammer seems possible. I still don't like how the legs seem in the shadow. Plus the torso (when stretched like that) looks taller than what might apear on a Madcat (notice how long the arms are stretched, you would think the torso would jut WAY out for a Madcat). Also, the missile racks should seem taller I would think.

Of course this is all speculation anyway and who knows how the Traditional Madcat might be tweaked by PGI.

Still, I am not 100% sold on that being a Madcat.

I agree. Its not the MadCat. Ok after seeing that stretch I can see it could be. But Im still not convinced.

I see the Wyvern....but why pick that mech? When you think Battletech, you don't think Wyvern. At least I don't.

Edit: Reflects new post info. Great use of photoshop to stretch the picture!!!

Look at the bottom right of center. You can see a Locust I think just to the left of the Jager and next to it is the Griffin.

Just right click the background and select view background image, you can see it clearly then.

Just going to throw out this, if we're getting The Slightly Cross Cat of Death, I fully expect an Aiden Pryde variant hero mech. That I will happily throw my money at!

Really difficult to say.

For an Archer the arms are a no go. Hunch's and Warhammer also.

Timber Wolf is my wish it would be (with small shoulder missle bays?), but the legs doesn't look right

Oh lol, I am at work and this computer has a 19" CRT so I can't see the background as well. Good call.

Yea, it does look like it could be a Timberwolf if you stretch the photo right. Probably torso twisted a little bit.

Its good to see PGI working so hard on CW and U.I 2.0.... wait, Guess we will get all the new features in Q4 of next year with Clans coming out in the next few months..

Seriously, why can't PGI actually give us what they promised in the form of CW and letting the IS actually fight among themselves first before introducing clans in Q4 of next year like they said they would? Because to many people will buy the Clans thinking they are OP as they are in Lore to be disappointed. What I fear is that the Clans will ruin MWO before any new features can even see the light of day. If we see a Timberwolf before U.I. 2.0 and CW then that pretty much nails the coffin in for MWO. That only means that U.I. 2.0 will come out in late November 2014 and CW won't start till December 2014 with how PGI works.
