Defense. Definitely. I'm getting a Catapult and launching missiles at all those stupid Atlases. And performing the "Death from Above" maneuver.

Going to see what looks like its the most usefull, I will be piloting a Dragon or a Cicada on the fast side, and a Cataphract at times too. Will have plenty of time to make a decision while I lvl towards that first point!

I'm going scout. Typically I'd go Atk/Def, but since this game looks like it rewards other styles of play than *pew pew "I gots u!"* I definitely want to go with scout. I've always been more of a get in, see what's up, and get out type of player. Right now I'm torn between a sexy light mech like the Raven or going for a Davion Hunchback. (Yes, I think the Raven models look good)

After that, probably Atk/Def for vision modes.

Percentages are looking like I thought they would. Idealy we would have 50% atk/def 25% scout, and 25% commander.... but I figured command could be a bit low before everyone sees how well it actually. Keep up the polling data ;)!!

I won't stick to any single role. I'll mix it up, to keep things from becoming boring.

Woah I didnt know about the calling for artillery.... It's all speculation until we get to actually test the mechanics of it ourselves, but every game where someone can call down artillery has been really cheap and spammy. It was stupid in BF2, it was stupid in BF2142, and it was REALLY stupid in the CoD games. Also doesn't calling artillery kind of undermine long range fire support mechs? I would rather the fire support bit come from mechs that were made for that role than some stupid pilot tree ability.

I hope its not that bad but now I'm worried.

I would probably go command, though there are a lot of stuff in the other trees that are enticing. Have to see what I do when the time comes.

Scout/ Attack so i can use my jenner to scout out the enemy and then use it to flank them and at the very least harass to the point where their attention is split between me and the main force. Not to mention hunting down those pesky catapults

Yeah, I plan to go commander, maybe with an arrow IV catapult :) (if that varient is in, it could be there, they said that TAG might make it in and that is for aiming Arrow IV:D) Maybe they need TAG to mark stuff for the off-board strikes.

maybe they have a HUGE cooldown, maybe shared cooldowns with all the strikes so you can't just have all the strikes and have a rotation lol.

Hopefully they can find a way to balance it.

Probably scout at first. Though I'll have to see how it actually shapes up. :)

A good commander combined with a team that will cooperate will dominate this game. If any of you played in a Battlefield 2 organized clan, you know what I'm talking about. I have a feeling the commander role is going to feel a lot like BF2 and it was amazing.

I always liked playing ranged support in MW3 so chilling in the back with a Catapult (or, if they release it and I hope they do, a Mad Dog/Vulture) waiting to rain the hell fire is going to be so awesome.

Hopefully a couple teammates will be around to help keep me alive. :-)

There isn't much in the way of gaming that is as rewarding as helping lead your team to victory.

BF2 commanders, represent!

I agree Poly. I love the feeling I get when I know that I helped coordinate the victory :)

I'd have to say atk/def for my first mech because i love to play a long range support class to both hit the enemy hard and to keep an eye on the team base, but i'll be playing alot of the scout class off handedly for the added goodys. Not to sure if i'll play the command class much though, was never really good at giving commands you know that whole thing, but i'll give it a try sooner or later i'm sure. XD
