All are good trees but the vision modes pushed me to atk/def. The command tree looked so cool though.

Going to depend on what is actually implemented in the talent trees when I get into the game where I put my first points.

If ZOOM and HUD info is really in the scout tree, chances are I'm going to start there no matter what roll I'm going to play. I want to get into the command roll since coordinating tactics with my team and support type rolls have always kinda been my thing, So command view/order view is the second thing I'd go for. Yet... Zoom and accurate HUD damage indicators seem like such basic important things to me, it's tough for me to neglect getting them ASAP.

Atk/Def

DFA Damage Reduction - Reduces the amount of damage caused by performing a Death From Above attack

THIS THIS A THOUSAND TIMES THIS!!!!

I chose scout. I like the scout role in general and find it fun. I will probably go for command next and probably assault after that. As they said, you can eventually do everything, but I like to start as a scout. I look forward to killing Catapults in my Jenner.

Guerrilla tactics are my favorite, so I imagine scout will work best for me and my team. I guess if I end up sucking at that, then I'll move to Attack/Defend and a fire-support role.

imagine the horror when 8 of 15 are commander and erveryone sends everony commands.....

Actually only the main lance commanders can issue orders...pretty sure it is in one of the Q&As....
The question is can they all use the airstrike like abilities at the same time

I think that its only 1 commander per lance.. not main lance.. that can issue orders... That would make more sense.

If it is going to be this specialized they would either have to list it next to the persons name or restrict the amount per game. I know this is more of a simulation, but in many games, relaying enemy locations is automatic, as long as they are in communication range. Having a specialty in order to do this seems awkward to me.

I hope so, becouse i realy get annoyed at bad people trying to order people around without knowing what they do.
And the spam of orders being given out by 2-3 of them might be just enough to make me shoot them myself

I am sure there will be some bad ones that will do ***** stuff like airstrike their own team... But for the most part I think command will be good for a team since it gives them a simple way of working together and by doing so earning more experience and credits when the orders are accomplished.

Attack & Defense. I won't be scouting much and I WILL NOT be a commander. I'd get everyone killed If i was. Besides, I believe i'm in a raider lance/company and doing more damage is quite important when raiding, you know. However, I might go down the Scout tree a little as well. Launching a UAV every once in a while wouldn't hurt.

I am really hoping that the command structure will be as follows:

- Lance commanders can issue orders to their 3 lancemates
- The Company Commander can issue orders to the other two lances as a whole, along with his own 3 lancemates.

That way there would be a purpose to all three positions, and you only 'need' 3 folks to have decent levels of Command ability to have a successful group.

Night vision -> Thermal -> Magnetometer->power up 1 & 2 -> AMS 1 (if you don't need all 5) -> Cognizance -> Crit shot. If you can take multiple trees, I'd then go Zoom mode-> Ghost signature 1 -> Radar range 1-> Null signature-> Charging.

Defensive ambush monster. Hunchback/Cataphract with a fist full of AC/20.

I chose Attack/Defend. Because thats how I role. :)
And because it will probably be easier than the other 2 roles.

Atk/def. I'm a merc through and through. You pay, you point, I kill. I have little interest in heading up lances, or saving nations, or upholding ideals. I am only here for the fight.. until I die or I find a more worthy opponent.

Couple of things. First off, those aren't "talent trees", you don't just magically get that ability when you unlock it, the pilot trees unlock modules that you can purchase to put on your 'Mech, and each 'Mech has a limited number of module slots.

Secondly, those trees are just a rough showing of what the pilot trees look like, not the actual unlock being added, so I wouldn't put too much stock in what's on there. Basing any expectations off of what's shown in the DevBlogs may lead to massive disappointment later.

I plan to go scout skills first then attack/defence. While most of my fellow mercs will be doing attack/defence to up their value, I am hoping to make myself valuable to a merc company by keeping them alive and making them look good by letting them know where to hit the enemy lines.
