you saw what Star Citizen is doing and thought "hey, people actually HAVE money, lets raise the bar" right?
thing is, Star Citizen is doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what our friendly INCOMPETENT PGI is doing

The Press Corps lately has been very displeased with the Obama Administration and a res7ult of that has been limited access to the Presidency. Would you jeopardize another point of access to PGI by having NGNG rage at them? One would hope not.
The PGI guys are not shills for PGI - they have the exact same concerns about the game as the rest of us and are seeking to maintain goodwill with PGI without selling out - Even PGI understands that. The NGNG staff is trying to put out a service to all MW and related genre games players and it is difficult to satisfy all points of view. Think of it as Art - not all of it is perceived as such.

Other than, you know, disobeying the law and getting sued/arrested for false advertising.
Even if every human being alive were to purchase a gold mech - is that false advertising?
There are a limited number of customers, after all.

The problem is this:
1) $210 package isn't worth it because youre forced to buy content you dont want in order to get the content you do want.
2) blatantly worse deal than phoenix, which was $6.7 per mech (not $10 per mech). not to mention phoenix gave you proportionally more premium time. hiking up prices by 50% at christmas is just bad business when most of your competitors are having sales.
3) complete lack of information regarding clan mechs, clan tech, and even the preview video has no clan mechs in it! Im not going to spend $200 just because you showed me a video of some smoking buildings. WTF?
Mechs are about the same:
For $240, 24 mechs and mech bays, 90 days of premium time, Signed Digital art (Woo? I think), and those other miscellaneous items.
Doing the math, that'd add up to 7200 (Mech bays) + 7500 (Premium time) = 14700MC which is around $75 (12000 and 3000 pack). That leaves the mechs at $6.875 with all the other goodies (Whatever they are).
In regards to number 3... IT WAS JUST ANNOUNCED FRIDAY. Do you expect them to have a full disclousure and working details on something not going to be released for another , man! months from now? Give it time

The comparisons between SC and PGI and their business models needs to stop - they are not the same.

Also, I hope they "run out of stock". PGI needs to hire more programmers soon...
So, not everything is bad news.

This last week I lost more, one due to ban and with the news of clan mechs even more have said they are done and don't plan on buying it unless they see something to show them that this game will go on. With no description of how you plan to balance Clan tech or implementing drops against them my friends are skeptical at best. I believe if you balance the clan tech you will ruin the game the whole point of clan tech was that is surpassed IS tech. I think the best way to balance Clans is with tonnage and amount of units on the playing field. Example 12 vs. 5 with tonnage based on an average of the IS mech that dropped (1000 tons vs. 450 tons) or something like that.
My opinion UI 2.0 is junk in my opinion, yes it looks good but the fundamentals of operation are a joke. You cant do anything that was said you could do like rearrange you mechs, rename your mechs. Where is the strip mech or strip weapons buttons. You cant tell how many heatsinks you have. I just think with all the hype it should have been so much more. The disappointment that CW hasn't even been started and is STILL in the discussion phase is amazing especially after the description from Bryan at launch. People all believed that with that much detail into it the discussion side would have been done and development started.
I myself have premium time wasting away because I have moved on to playing War Thunder. I only drop in MWO now for my 12 man practices and when a friend asks me to I am so bored with Conquest and Assualt same game modes after 3 years of development are blah at best. With a lobby system we could get a solaris feel with 1v1 or 4v4 or even allow clans to practice and show the new people some ways to progress without having to go into a battle.
I have loved this game since playing the first mechwarrior, but it is frustrating to see were this game is at 3 years into development. I hope that this sale stays until may of next year and gives you time to show everyone that UI 2.0 and CW is not going to be a joke but a game changer. Personally in the mean time I think Game modes would be the fastest way to get people back into the game until CW is ready.
Ok I am done ranting sorry...

I am not a big poster here, I have been pretty much happy with the game, despite the long delays of content and poor communication.
Please take time to read this post as I am currently spending money on the game, I drop with my company and lance mates twice a week. nearly all of us have got the Phoenix and reinforcement pact and most of us are legendary founders, Plus most of us spend money on the game on a monthly basis still.
But now this is all about to end, Many in my unit and going to stop play or stop spending money all together.
You seem to be only interested in wanting our money for very little return. the game has hardly progressed since close bete, Infact the game is still pretty much a bete, we still playing the same game modes which are both virtually the same.
You have failed to be honest with us one of your devs seems to think it is funny to troll the very people who are paying your wages, Now you want us to buy the clan mechs ? REALLY do you think so little of your fanbase you think we just keep giving you money we work and earn to pass to you when you are giving us so little in return ????
I would rather and be happy to pay you $250.00 for the new UI and CW. All we keep getting from you are mechs!! yes i know the mechs you design are awesome and its a credit to you company and your art team BUT!, We have to pay real money for them and despite this you want us to buy your packages.
I feel like you hold nothing but contempt for your fan base and it hurts. I really do want this game to succeed and have a massive fan base, I love battletech and i love the things you said to us back in the day about your plans for the game. Which we still waiting to happen despite the money the fan base been throwing at you.
Enough is enough, Will i carry on playing ?. Yes i will despite lack of content, Mainly because i enjoy dropping with my company
Will i spend any more money on the game ? NO and NO, NO i will not!!!. Not to i see some progress in the mete game. I am not even convinced you will give us what we want, A proper implemented CW and the new UI and game modes!!
SHOW us you are serious, SHOW us you care for your community, SHOW us you want to grow the IP with us.
Like someone else mention in this thread, You have harpooned all the whales in the sea, Only few now will bite when there dead what will happen next.....

Well it was a good read. But I disagree with you about the Clan technology. Clan tech was broken. It was even stated by the creators and officials who ran the Battletech tabletop game. They are going with different and not superior technology and I believe that is a good thing.

There is content that comes with it as well. You know... the Premium time, and the Mech bays? Yeah that stuff costs MC too.
Edit: That's about a 3% increase (which includes more assault and heavy mechs (Which cost more than lights and Meds, obviously) so its a better deal in the end.)

When everyone gets wise, we'll be left with nothing more than has been delivered to date, and the money will vanish.

I agree with you, although given a past statement about forum users being the vocal minority, the only real way to get any kind of response is to encourage every player to use the forums to address these things.
I want this game to succeed as much as anyone else here (if not more hazardously so), it had been way too long for a MechWarrior game to come back out.
As this is an ongoing game being continuously developed, I have more faith in it. I can only stress that people give them more time.
you sir have blind faith then.
