So what now? People are ready to wait it off to see what is happening or we just bail out and enjoy the fireworks when this thing goes nuclear?

Since i m a "happy" owner of overlord phoenix package it would be stupid of me to give 80$ and ignore them so i will time to time try to laser a... Or missile the... I will just use AC/5 to kill few guys simply to justify the blind hope i had on them.
I will also try to ignore the bitter feeling and try to have fun.

How about you guys?

Frankly I think that the community here is just as much to blame as PGI. The constantly whining and complaining over every feature that isn't implemented to their exact specifications is absurd. The entitlement is truly astonishing! You know what, invest 10 million dollars or whatever it takes to buy the license for Mechwarrior and remake the game yourself. Oh you can't raise that kind of money and don't know anything about software development? Great, sit the F down and shut up.

Be thankful we even have a Mechwarrior game that is fun and enjoyable to play. And this game isn't any different than endless games of world of tanks but you don't see people whining about that.

I was "waiting" (that is playing warthunder and dota2) for a year and a half. If this game ever gets unfucked i have a pristine legendary acct here.

If not - there are dozens of better projects.

The original post had some decent ideas for balancing such as increasing the beam duration on clan ER lasers so that damage is more spread out in exchange for longer range and overall higher damage. But I would encourage PGI NOT to increase the heat. Energy weapons are already punished in this game and even the double heat sinks are not capable of handling heat in an intense fight. I would dread the thought of putting a clan ER PPC on anything if it has a heat out put of 20ish for 1 weapon. On a side note according to BT lore the clan heavy lasers made the beam duration last longer to increase over all damage so its really not stretching it too far to think that might be how they got more damage from there ERs.

I also have read some REALLY good suggestion from the players to help balance the problems already in the game. For starters someone suggested making autocannons fire multiple shoots in a salvo in order to ease some of the poptart metabuilds. Other MW games have had a similar function and they have been really good. To clarify an AC 20 would shoot out say 4 shots doing 5 damage each in quick order then reload, where as an ultra AC20 would spit out 8 shots in about the same time then reload. One of the reasons I would recommend this beyond balancing is that the current ultra AC works more like I would imagine a rotary AC would work and if you ever plan on releasing that weapon it will be hard to make it unique. {Also it kind of looks like a rotary AC.}

On a similar note you could make PPCs behave more like beam lasers as well just with shorter durations so that the damage output justifies the extra heat. Say 1/2 of what a laser lasts. You could then apply the same balance to clan ER PPCs that you plan on using for there ER lasers. This is of course not just to balance clan stuff but to balance the game in general. As is the game is becoming more and more of a one trick pony. 2 PPCs and an AC 10/20 or go home. a premade lance with that set up can 1 shot an Atlas before they even have a chance to say oh crud I'm dead. If you made all weapons effectively DOT instead of spike damage you would keep the feel of different weapons without having to punish us with heat.

On the note of SSRM 6s I'm honestly not overly afraid of them no matter how you build them. The have a very short range, require a lock to fire and can be countered with ECM and AMS. Honestly I have been waiting for these freaking things so that we actually have weapon that will make lights behave like lights. No more of these spiders running through the ENTIRE enemy force and running away laughing with nothing but paint missing. Make the SSRMs fire there whole salvo as long as the mech they are on has the launch tubes for it.

And lastly concerning the clan LRMS I'm not overly afraid of them either. There is no substitute for using cover in this game period. I can count on 1 hand how many times an enemy LRM boat has been more than just an annoyance to me. Bottom line is stay in cover and stay alive. The lack of a minimum range could be an issue but the damage drop off really isn't the best solution. I saw someone post a pic with a recommended trajectory change which would be a lot more useful for balancing. Pretty much since LRMs are mainly supposed to be an indirect fire weapon it would be reasonable to assume they would leave the tubes and then climb for a better way of clearing terrain. Therefore you could create a "safe" bubble within 180 meters where the LRMs still do damage, but they don't track well. A clever LRM player could find ways around this which is also why I wouldn't drop the damage off. Good players should be rewarded for PLAYING well, and bad players can get mad and say they are cheating.

Over all I'm looking forward to seeing how clan tech is implemented in the game, but I have to agree that we need UI 2.0 AND CW before we need more toys to play with. And $500 for one mech? That is outrageous and makes me wonder if you guys are trying to gouge some silly people before you announce that you are selling the rights and moving on.

A feature has to actually be implemented first for us to whine about how it isnt implemented to our exact specifications.

Yes, it's really hard taking footnotes from 4 previous games and MWLL on how to make a good mechwarrior.

Let's just copypaste completely unrelated world of tanks because their system's getting them mad buxx!

To be fair at least they are more honest this time around.

How can that be known? More forthright maybe. Honest? You only know that if what he said can be verified. Most of that will have to be seen later on, in order to know.

So, he indicated that 3PV increased the player population significantly. One would think, with an increase in players having been achieved, that they could offer up a 1PV-only queue for those that want it. I noticed earlier in the thread somebody mentioned that instead the 1PV for the 12 man pre-mades went away. AFAIK, they continue to conceal how many players are online.

Deeds, not words.

I haven't given up yet. When I allow myself to forget all this business and log in and just play, I remember, oh yeah, this game is still ridiculously fun, despite all this community hullabaloo.

Sure, I can understand the doubters, and I'm disappointed on the timeline for CW, but...that interactive "clicky" timeline actually gives some nice info. Time will tell eh? If they do end up delivering on all that's included in it, CW could be pretty worth the wait maybe.

But all frustration and doubt aside, speaking directly to all you "I'll kill any gold mech I see, doesn't matter the team it's on" folks...

Seriously?

SERIOUSLY?!

I mean, come on, hate the gold mechs? Don't buy one, I know I'm not going to. But going out of your way to kill one, especially TK one? That's just asinine and childish. It will be my distinct pleasure to report any TK incident of that variety I witness, and I'm generally not the type of person to report anyone, for anything.

If you intend to TK a gold mech, I intend to get a juice box and some crackers for you and sit you down in front of the television for a Dora the Explorer marathon, since you are clearly not mature enough to handle any sort of decision or interaction that you are likely to encounter in the adult world. Plus you might possibly still need help with basic concepts like "sharing" or "cooperation" or "telling colors apart from one another".

Animals you people. Animals. Flinging excrement at the walls and expecting the rest of us to oooh and aaah at the masterpiece you created.

Stupid internet.

Endless whines, that's all you people do. It's like you think you are entitled to something. At no point did you invest money for a say into how this goes. You even get the privilege of having space to vent your comments and have someone else manage the system to do that.

Whereas before our license ran out mid 2015 we are now ensured rights until mid-2018 and also if certain criteria is met will have until mid-2020 to continue to develop MechWarrior products including MWO.

Merry Christmas! Hope you guys like waiting till mid-2020 for the next MechWarrior title. Because this is exactly what you should tell people to reassure them when they're in open revolt -- don't worry, we've got exclusive rights for another seven years.

Although, on the other hand, it looks like it is licensing and not the insanity that will keep other developers away from the series. Anybody who was betting that PGI would run this into the ground so hard that other companies would steer clear probably never imagined that long of a lockout.

I sadly find myself wishing I had not paid for legendary and overlord and bought some nice miniatures and a board game instead.

Previous games are semi-irrelevant at this point. Different technologies, different game play styles, different playerbases different style of gaming. Again, if you don't like it, raise some money and buy the license and remake it. Stop whining and do something...

2013 State of the Inner Sphere

The only items really remaining from the Community Warfare pillar are two items, although pretty big ones. They are what we can call “Association” which is further connecting factions and the idea of Loyalty points and “Inner Sphere Planetary Conquest” which of course is competing over territory. I have not listed off dates for these systems because we don’t have as precise of estimates quite yet. But we can for the first time based on the January-April development schedule provide a more accurate estimation then we have in the past. Below are some conservative estimates of the remaining Community Warfare features that I think we can probably beat.

Conservative Estimates:
- Association: July-Aug
- Planetary Conquest: Sept-Oct

Russ Bullock
President, Piranha Games Inc.
......................................................................................................................................................................................

Conservative Estimate - Planetary Conquest: Sept-Oct 2014

Conservatively..??? October 2014..?? :P
Wait a minute, a CONSERVATIVE ESTIMATE..?? It could be longer then almost another year.??

ROFLMAO, but thanks for the response.
