So what now? People are ready to wait it off to see what is happening or we just bail out and enjoy the fireworks when this thing goes nuclear?

Since i m a "happy" owner of overlord phoenix package it would be stupid of me to give 80$ and ignore them so i will time to time try to laser a... Or missile the... I will just use AC/5 to kill few guys simply to justify the blind hope i had on them.
I will also try to ignore the bitter feeling and try to have fun.

How about you guys?

Pretty much my feeling. I get the reinforcement pack tomorrow (I'm a medium pilot, I had to do it), but I'm already kinda regretting my putting money into Phoenix at all right now. The only thing keeping me going is my desire to get my money's worth of what is left of the game.

My plan is just to keep playing, knowing this is a disappointment and will not get better (I mean seriously, now their projected CONSERVATIVE date for CW is next October, 2 years behind schedule). I will hope the servers stay up because I like Mechwarrior and because it means PGI is slowly bleeding out money to keep them going. The game is going nowhere and we know that for sure now so no point in spending more, just enjoy what we can while it lasts.

I wonder if there's a player counter somewhere.

Because i want to see if it actually drops tomorrow or this 333 page rage was just pussay venting.

I haven’t played or even patch MWO since the "official" launch and the end of the PP Launch. I barely even associated with my unit anymore and my friends mainly because I cannot find any reason to play MWO anymore and it’s just too depressing to see how many of the members no longer play MWO (myself included)

For too long now all we have had is just "fluff = new mechs, skins, hero mechs" without any real or tangible improvement or updates of the core game play.
It’s been great to see mechs are getting their optimisation pass every patch and the normal tweaks each patch but the reality is this is essentially still the same game I started playing in closed beta.

Other than the additional maps (which I am very thankful for) and conquest mode (another team death match) we have had no major changes to the state of the game play content.

You have to ask the devs; how long before we get UI2.0 and CW?
As having those 2 MAJOR additions to the game is about the only thing that might bring me back to this game and many others who no longer play

While I can understand the release of the new Clan package for the xmas period the timing is atrocious and does give every appearance to being just another money grab again (especially the Gold Mechs)

The cost of the new Clan Package to me is just too high to justify spending more money on a game that in my personal opinion is heading towards a dismal failure where this game will only be remembered for the mismanagement of the community and as an example of how not to run a computer game developing / publishing company......

I hope I am proven wrong by PGI/IGP and we get the content we need to continue playing this game and that we start get something more than just fluff in the near future

In the meantime my last words are:
N.ot
O.ne
P.enny
E.xtra

The new reprint of the board game is delayed too. :P

In summary the content and feature releases are:

Dec - New game mode and map
Jan - Nothing (that we are aware of)
Feb - UI 2.0 + weapon modules + assault mode refresh (+ turrents)
Mar - DX11 + achievement system
Apr - Launch module (does that mean we also get private matches?)
May - Nothing (that we are aware of)
Jun - Clan invasion (whatever that means which I assume is just more mechs released)

Now the question is, is this enough to keep everyone entertained for another year until the mother of all features, CW, is released? New players and those who haven't been burnt out yet will probably be fine but for others, 1 whole year is a tad long.

I'm sure the patch tomorrow will spice things up for a short period of time but I no doubt will have an extended break - the sad thing is I am sure in this time we'll lose more of my merc group and friends to other games.

I took the time and read Russ's command chair post completely.

Seems to me they should take some of those 20 employees off of mech design and put more employees into CW and such.

Conclusion: NOPE is my rally cry.

I'm not going to spend one more penny until after CW is out. The fact the arrival of the clans is just a mech purchase is uncool and did anybody else notice Russ said they had an awesome event with the game going live? I thought all they did was remove beta from the upper left corner....

Guess I'll be back in 7 months roughly

A matter that I haven't seen discussed much is the question of "clan queues". Will they be separating the Clan/IS player queues, or will they just be dumping the new clan models in with the old IS ones in some sort of sick perverted free-for-all where old clunky Kuritan Dragons are fighting alongside Clan Wolf spanking new gold Mad Cats?

I can't see that there will be much of a playerbase come June 2014 and that the final death throes of this game will be Clans and IS mechs dropping in last-man-standing royal rumbles. We mey end up getting a new Solaris scenario so that they can justify dropping all the mechs together as there won't be enough to split.

So the clans are invading are they? What are they invading exactly? My right flank as they drop alongside me on the same team in my rusty old F2P Hunchback?

Apparently it was only awesome for those in SanFran. Gonna assume it involved b0llock and a pint of beer.

Honestly WAY TO much money IMO. Your going to turn more people off then bring in new ones.. Also gold mechs are the worst IDEA that has come up. World of tanks did this on there chinese server with a gold 59. It created so much hate, now if anyone sees one in game it is killed , even if it is on the same team. It has created a hateful server. This is a dumb idea. Also we have paid alot of money. I know I for one have basicly paid for almost 2 big budget games, You need to add alot more content in the form of maps and features... I would love to buy the madcat, but man that is ALOT of money. Also NO VULTURE over the thor really?

I think the sad that the clan mechs should be brought in on a high note. People should be excited, not feeling ripped off and pissed off :P So sad :unsure:

Tell me now, how many of these stuff has become true. PGI, Russ and Bryan has made the same promises again and again, and now AGAIN. But how much has this been realised?

You have been talking about these stuff since Nov 2011. Fine. I will no harp on promises made then. How about this, lets hear about what you guys have said during GDC2013 (similar to what you have said now) and see how much of these have become a reality.

/*########################Quotes made from the video########################*/
Promises made -AGAIN- during GDC 2013 (March 31st)

Between March 2013 to October 2013 (by launch), there will be "way too many features to discuss"

There will be 3 main features (stated by RussBullock):
-> 12v12::- 60+ days (2 Months) - May 2013
-> UI2.0::- no eta (will be released by launch)
-> CommunityWarfare:- no eta (will be released by launch)
- faction-based-gameplay: align yourself to the houses
- lone-wolf-options:
- mercenaries:
- battles that you fight will affect the BT storyline and gives you benefit.

Vision for CW (stated by Bryan Eckman)
-> Solo play:
-> Faction play - fighting for territory:
- Home front vs Enemy front (i.e: house vs house war)
- Giving access to mechs/weapons/bonuses
-> PreLobby System:
- PreMatch screen
- Adding the 3rd lance (12v12)
- More exp bonuses for commanders (lance and company)
-> Balance:
-> Regional partners before launch???

Judging by the stream of new content you actually believe there are, in truth, 40 people working on this game? Have you actually seen a 40-man company?

no freaking way. more like the dot.com bubble in the late 90's/early 2k's. just office space, a small crew of artists and fevered dreams of f2p millions.

A good feedback to a not well thought out roadmap not easy.

I don't want to flame or troll ,but the developers or better the heads of pgi seems to have some trouble with the overall business.
This is the impression I get from the overall delay and the decision for the clan sale.
It reminds me with what I watched :

and the end product xcom enemy unknown I played , was fun BUT you really felt that many things were missing, but I guess I am stilll used to the old ways lol, to get a full game or what I consider a full product.

I think is justified to rage to troll sometimes... to be overall Political Correct is not helpfull at all and it will only lead to direct a broken (but still fixable) game into oblivion , for me this happends when there is no longer a communication between pgi and the community.
Or the fear to talk about it, that clearly you can't deliver the things the you promised ?

The clan sales hmm , First now that pgi stated that the game is ready, what for me is still a stable beta is off limits.
You can't make a fund raiser for game that is released and ready to stand on its own.
And for the sale I would expect for me to be able to pick a mech and that they would be ready to play with the next patch.

That is what I expect from a released game and a clan sale, a trailer were you can see the clan mechs rampaging through the IS and I can pick the mechs I want.

That what I would consider an xmas sale and here would be no rampage in the forums.

But I guess my feedback is like the clan sale totally broken (english) XD

I can't get past that there are people who say "eh, $240 isn't bad, I'd drop it in a second if I had item x." I can't understand the "well Star Citizen and WoT charge xxx, so it's all good" mentality. It should never be okay to charge gamers that kind of money for a game, let alone just for a few items in a game. It's not okay when SC does it, it's not okay with WoT does it, and it's not okay around here. We're participating in something that's warping this industry in all of these cases.

Now, again, I've spend 2-300 on this game. That's also way more than I think is okay. But at least it was done in much smaller increments. If I had my time back, I would have made very different decisions; I would have been smarter with my money. I made mistakes and the continuing to pour money into this game certainly counts.

In the end, I feel like we're living in a bizarro world. From my perspective, the Founder's deal was very expensive, but I bought it because I'm such a fan of the IP. The Phoenix package was expensive, but I bought it (more grudgingly this time) because I'm a sucker for those classic mechs. That was a mistake, I see that now. I told PGI/IGP, in my laziness and in my willingness to waste my disposable income, that this was okay, that this was the way to do things. It's not. Only in some bizarro world is charging $240 for ANYTHING in a larger game even remotely sensible. It blows my mind that there's a single person out there who isn't balking at that price.

Now, for the Roadbeers out there, this isn't QQ, I'm not screaming or enraged. I'm honestly just mind-boggled. I'm obviously one of a different generation of gamer, where prices like this are simply unheard-of. As I said before, I wouldn't pay that much money for anything in this game, even if it was in perfect working condition at the time of asking. Despite the "don't like it, don't pay" set, I can't imagine there are that many folks who see things differently.

I know our standards have all been warped a bit by games like this and the ones mentioned above, but you've got to step back and consider what you're paying and what you get. It's $240. That's more than two weeks' groceries for me. For a few mechs. In a video game. Step back, folks, if you're defending this pricing, and give it some thought.

QFFT +1000!

even in closed beta we had threads discussing the direction of the payment system, people telling them again and again "do MICROtransactions, CAPITAL M, just look at League etc."
people will buy more, people will feel more respectet, you will be generating more profits and everybody has the oportunity to drop some dollars/euros from time to time.
this clan package, even if i would have trust in this developer left....i couldnt justify the price before myself, the girlfriend or any gamer-friend i know. 500 USD buy a freaking steam library full of games...
but no, greeed, greed is good!
