Good news!

MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries is Free to Play, you get access to EVERY 'Mech in the game straight off the bat. And you can add your own custom insignia to the 'Mechs! And all the balancing is already done.

Oh. And it has a lot more weapons than MWO. And it even has the Unseen! (Not the Reseen, the Unseen.)

ETA: Best of all, there is a training mode and a complete (mostly open-ended) single-player campaign!

but...does it have golden mechs??!
no good sir!

UI2.0 missing, CW has been pushed back so far I call it vaporware and they are constantly launching the next package/bundle with insane prices to gouge the ever shrinking player base.

Enjoy the game if you play, I left almost a year ago and since then I've seen nothing really added but a couple maps and mechs. There is no game here other than logging in to shoot someone for 10min then repeating. That is fine for what it is but at the end of the day it's not enough. Not when you have been promising way more for far longer than I even care to remember. Worst part is, the prices just go up and up and up and up. Even if I wanted to buy this package I would rather have a PS4/Xbox1 for the same money. The value isn't there to justify the fleecing they are attempting.

I originally bought my Founders pack because CW sounded really cool. The longer it takes for CW to arrive, the more I've been losing interest in the game. Right now the matches are meaningless other than contributing to grinding XP for my mechs (which I've already completed for 3 Atlases, 2 Cataphracts, 2 Stalkers and 1 Highlander so I'm struggling to motivate myself to do it again for more mechs). I have no desire to contribute any more money to the game until CW is released and I can see if its actually going to be the cool feature that was promised.

Weren't turrets something MWLL had 3 years ago?

But MW2 was on another engine! You can't seriously expect PGI to migrate something from a game older than the average target audience person.

No posts in a half hour? Well, it was a grand effort my fellow vatborn and dezgra, but it looks like we won't be hitting 1000 pages until the next time a pack of mechs is up for sale.

I still feel these guys sat in a dark, dingy diner somewhere, figuring out what long dead IP they can resurrect for a money grab: BOOM ... here we are.

Probably played some MWLL, and said, Hey, we can make money off of this!

Another thing that just occurred to me. Even if I *did* want to spend money on this game right now, the structure of these packs is terrible.

I'm primarily an Assault mech pilot. Occasionally I'll go Heavy. Why should I have to pay for all the Light and Medum mechs that I will never use? I complained about this with project Phoenix (? or whatever it was called) as well. The original founders packs let me pay for one mech and choose which one I wanted.

All i can say at this point is that Karma is going to bite them back if its not doing so already,

To release such a ridiculous purchase proposal as the clan mechs, someone must of put some acid tabs in the pot of coffee that morning.

They must ALL have wet feet from paddling in de-nile........................................

With the current development team this game has no future not even with the die hard fan base (ngng) i bet even most of them have had enough of the innuendo's.

Someone said to me once that they still have faith in the development team, such faith is wasted with this game title at the moment.

I got so excited about seeing the Timber wolf I clicked on it, it instantly had my credit card ready to go and if I had made a mistake I would have just bought the 240 package. At least there billing UI is top notch, it happened so fast I had no idea I almost bought it. What the hell is going on with these prices??? I have supported this game more then I even wanted to, and nothing really has happened. Its always been the stick and carrot. I am very lucky that I have money to throw at games like this. People like me grew up with MechWarrior 2 and Wing Commander. Lots of folks like us will throw a silly amount of money to try to get that back. Look at Star Citizen. I have friends that have spent well over 3k on it because they love the idea, and they can. MWO was in that position for some of us but the state of the game, and things like gold mechs just somehow **** us off. I think Star Citizen is setting a bad example. Of everything that can be learned and taken away from the way CIG is making a game, charging a ******** amount of money for a Mech is not one of them.

I wonder if we (The Community) had enough money to buy the rights to MechWarrior before all of this. This really bites. It's so depressing that this franchise is just a shadow of what it could be. Maybe I'm just feeling over entitled for something that has been a part of my life for 19 years.

PGI/Devs, this seems like a watershed time for your relationship with the community. Please be more open and forthcoming with real timeline etc. Make the game afordable too, especially for yor supporters who are Founders and bought Phoenix packages!
Not sure they ever had any intention on delivering any of the advertised features.

Game is perfectly f2p until there is serious p2w implemented.
