UPDATE 2013-12-20:
You can now purchase your favourite Mechs À La Carte! Find out more here:
http://mwomercs.com/...rchase-options/

See and people say PGI doesn't listen. Well if you create enough uproar to hit the gaming press you can get changes. Don't spin this like PGI listens. In Russ post he said the prices were fine. Then after massive forum dumpster fire it's he wasn't sure and not we get the ala carte people asked for from the beginning.
Just a quick recap of the times PGI "listened": going to OB, forum erupted and told them it was too soon, delayed (but not long enough); coolant flush P2W at first, forums erupt, changed to non P2W, 3PV fiasco, absolute firestorm, no 3PV in 12 man matches; overpackaged Clan mechs, dumpster fire, ala carte pricing.
So the lesson is PGI only reacts if the forums explode. So rather than learning from previous issues, PGI continues to "listen" when they have to put out dumpster fires they lit. Community managing at it's finest!

First let me say "Thank you PGI for listening"

While people might have a problem with the pricing of the A la carte option at least PGI has addressed one of the main concerns people have been voicing. Yes you can get your hands on that Timber Wolf you're itching to play without having to buy 12 mechs first. Now does that justify 55 bucks bucks for free mechs, let's look at the math

I'm all about value for the dollar so lets see what we get.

Pheonix package = 6.66 per mech (6.11 if you got the sabre reinforcement)

Clan package = 10 bucks per mech ( 20 bucks per mech if you get a khan package)

A la carte = 18 bucks per mech (but this does scale down the more packages that you purchase)

So, a four dollar premium over Inner Sphere mechs, we'll know in time if it's worth it as PGI releases more information about the clan mechs. But so far... the clan mechs do look like they will be a step up from what we are piloting now so they might just be worth it afterall. Again it's up to PGI to make them worth those extra 4 bucks

And a whopping 8 dollar premuim to get just the individual package YOU want... we'll the question is how badly do you want that mech.

In the end these mechs will be available for CBILLS which cost you nothing the only thing you have to do is "wait" for them to be available in the game.

In the end people we aren't really paying for these mechs... we're paying for the ability to play these mechs EARLY. It's patience vs pocket book (Except when it comes to KHAN mechs, where you're paying to be the biggest target on the battlefield...early)

But at least PGI is listening and making adjustments accordingly and that is a very good sign.

P.S. I haven't forgotten about the KHAN package.. i'll be ranting and RAVING about that later (No PGI I haven't let you out of the doghouse about that yet)

Sigh.

This new a la carte option is a step in the right direction, but as usual with PGI, way overpriced. $55 for 1 mech (3 variants) is still overpriced.

No mech (as in 1 chassis) should ever be more than $5-$10. $8/chassis sounds perfect. You could get 3 for $25 ($24 to be exact but close enough).

These prices just show me that PGIGP care more about the money in my wallet than anything else. Sorry PGI, but my money will be going elsewhere until you reconnect with reality.

Thank you PGI for listening to our concerns and the mutual pocketbook.

Though at $55 a Chassis with $5 decrease for each Chassis after the first, that still sets 2 Chassis at $100 dollars.

Without any of the bonus content offered by the Collections. I'm just going to quote myself from earlier as the feeling hasn't changed.

In short, I just feel that a lot of things are flat out too expensive for what they offer. It's not that I cannot afford this, it's that I don't feel value out of what they are offering for how much it all costs. I don't need or want a Gold Mech, really, and I don't dismiss the people that do want it. Rather I am worried and concerned that the value of these digital goods will only get worse in the future, which is off putting for me.

When you compare this to the Saber Reinforcement Package you can see a massive inflation on price point.

After the pricing offered by the Phoenix Package the Clan Collections doesn't feel like it has -any- value for me. The Clan Collections turned me off as I'm paying for massive bloat due to mechs I do not want and now the A'La'Carte option is massively inflated so I'm -still- paying for that bloat and not even getting the mech bays for it.

I'm not expecting everything to be dirt cheap but does this mean that the first Clan Hero Mech is going to be coming out at $120? Packages, bundles and deals are supposed to offer more value than buying the items individually, right?

This is just reinforcing my view that the game is only getting more expensive and further cutting away from High Value options in terms of price point.

Microtransactions has a key word there. "Micro"

I saw 240$ for the biggest package and I said to myself: They are totally insane, for mech that I will have in 6 month, not even knowing how the game is supposed to devellop until then? I paid for the phoenix package and saw no real content upgrade since then... how is this supposed to be different with the clan package???

And then, then!

I saw the 500$ for 1 customed painted mech, then I knew, they are insane.

No more money from me until the game is in a real "Released" state, by my standards.

This is my latest (and last) periodic check in on whats happening.

You've lost your way PGI. It seems any notion of developing this game for the love of the franchise has fallen foul of the glint of filthy lucre. You had me there at the beginning, an actual mechwarrior game after waiting so long. I stumped up cash I didn't really have through the rosey glow of nostalgia because I thought I might get to stomp across countless worlds in multi-tonned engines of walking destruction.

Seems it isn't to be. Enjoy you $60 PGI.

Peace. Out. :)

If you want our kindeys, why not say so in the first place?

I wonder what the cockpit item I get for the kidney looks like.

Okay so PGI has explained pricing a little better. But $260 (the warhawk pack is $240) for a gold mech still seems a little steep for only digital content. So i still wont be trying to buy that any time soon. The A La Cart is a little better, though I have to laugh that you will pay 25 dollars extra just to have a choice in what mech you get. And lets be honest anything above two mechs this way you might as well go with the pack, you get more stuff that way. All in all I am happier with the sale, I still will with hold purchasing until later next year. But this, coupled with the explanations of how the Omnis will work, have at least stopped me from abandoning the game all together.

Look none of you "need" or "have to pay" to use these mechs. They will come out free of charge for C-Bills. Then you can "grind away" and buy them one by one, or you could "pay" for them to save time because Time=Money. Your choice but regardless they are available to everyone. So quit your cries about too much. They gave you A La Cart. We know you wanted A La Cart for .02 cents because you don't seem to understand that this game is 100% free if you want it to be. So people that do pay have to pay for the tight cheap ***** that just look for handouts, and if you really can't pay or afford to give money for any games I'm not talking to you, at the same time you have no right to complain. Free is Free you take what you can get.

PGI as much as I want a Vulture, Annihilator, Loki and a Shadow Cat please don't do a "Clan Reinforcement Package". There should not be an add-on to this current package. PGI you will only get trashed even more for being greedy (and it would be an all too predictable move). Let the Clan Collection come out in June and once released list a separate "Second Wave Package” with the Vulture and Shadow Cat and a few other mechs to come out another 6 months later (perhaps around Christmas time) OR have them come out as separate Hero Mechs right afterward. Adding any more to this package will only stink of a cash grab especially knowing how many people want a Vulture (almost as much as a Mad Cat).

While I have been a detractor with the late features, I applaud PGI for listening to the complaints regarding no a la carte options and even including the Masakari package with the gold mechs (while still damn expensive it's not as 'bad' as the original deal).

I hope this is a lesson to the marketing team for future sales.

Btw, Merry Christmas =)

I know many people have said it before, "Step in the right direction" yadda yadda.
I'll cut that part out, it's already been covered, and probably better than how i would say it.
Basically, here's my problem with the pack.
55$ for one mech.
That's more than the 30$ for each of the individual packages, which not only come with the mechs, but additional cockpit items, titles, all sorts of goodies.
What do you get if you buy them a la carte?
A big middle finger.

On the one hand: Hooray, for a la cart options!

On the other hand: $55 for one 'Mech, $100 for two? BWAHAHAHAHAHA. You're funny, PGI.

When I first heard about a la cart being added, I thought, "Neat! I'll throw PGI a little money for doing something that I wanted them to do. Maybe throw them a little more (add another chassis) when they get UI2.0 in the game." Naturally, I thought they were going to be $30 per. I was and am fully prepared to spend that much. $55? Well, that's a nice, tall glass of NOPE.

I am glad PGI added options to the Clan mech pre-orders, even though they are still very pricey to me. I am beginning to think that this pre-order pricing is not geared for people like me. I am a gamer first, and a mech fan second, and I can't help but balk at these prices. I am starting to feel like they are going after the hard core battletech guys who aren't afraid to drop a wad on this stuff.

There might be some people buying this stuff up, but at these prices, I will be sitting this one out.

Nothing wrong with not buying any. I'm sure they will be available for CBs at some point.

With 2 kids, wife, and 50+ hour a week job, I'm fine with paying since I don't have as much game time as I would like.

Yah. I'm on board with this question as well. Bought the Warhawk Pack, but want a gold mech. Not gonna spend damn near 800 space bucks on two seperate things. Give me an upgrade option to a Gold Mech for the remaining balance since I already bought the complete collection!

Also, SERIOUSLY?!@()&#$_$^ WHAT THE **** PGI?! No Mad Dog???? What the hell??? The ADDER over the MAD DOG?!?! Have you completely lost your damn minds??????
Lastly. Your Warhawk concept looks like dog {Scrap}. Horribly done. Everything else was far beyond what I hoped.

That is all.
