Can the packages and gold mechs be made giftable for tax reasons?

UI 2.0 is supposed to allow the ability to gift items as well.

"Ehm...its 24 Mechbays, not 24 variants of the Masakari"

Oh ok ok, Honest mistake : ) Still, It's better than what I had thought initially.

it's still a money grab...but, I'm a BT fan at heart, and will support it as long as it's the only title out there, that doesn't mean I can't play other games either.

Here is my honest opinion. Most people think it is a money grab, the packages arnt, the Gold Mechs however are. But this is a F2P game and while some players may not agree with the value, they must make money somehow.

To put things in perspective... things your can buy with that kinda money: A ps4, an ipad, a top of the line graphics card. HOLY HELL PGI. $GREED STAMP$ $$$.

Edit: Actually its about 10 dollars a mech if you break it down, and then some extra stuff thrown in. So long as you ignore the golden wangs. Its ok, but it is shocking from a pure numbers view.

The $10 per mech plus some extra is correct...and though not bad per rmech it does create a shocking number that is out of many gamer's pocket book range. I think they should have had some smaller packs available with the large packs. Something like a clan hero mech of your choice + 2 variants for $40 or something. That way, the large clan packs will still sale to those with cash lying around and those with less cash would still get a clan hero mech or two out of it.

Unless the clan hero mech variants will be for sale individually...eventually...this is pretty rough on a lot of people pocket books. Rest assured though, a ton of folks are gonna do whatever they can to get a pack,

It is disappointing that the extremely long awaited 2.0 and CW are not here yet while these are being pushed already. The war really hasn't begun, yet, until CW is complete and polished.

Anyhoos...the deed is done. We gotta deal with it.

You know, I'd be fine with spending another $80.00 on clan mechs. Give me the same kind of package that phoenix gave and I can justify a pack of clan mechs for long term play. Unfortunately with the price points they are asking, I will decline to spend. It's not because I'm angry with them, I just don't see it as a good use of my money.

I really do hope they get the message that their prices are out of control. The sad part is, with a lower price point they would get my money. With the higher price point, they have lost income from me. I'm pretty unemotional about it, it's just fact.

Yep not only that but its Christmas so youd expect 20% off. A more appropriate price point, based on Phoenix, would be $65 for 4 revival mechs, 8 standard variants, and 4 months of premium.

Christmas is not about sales. But it seems people have already forgotten this a long long time ago.

I'm baffled by this. I've already spent over $400 on this game, and the idea of spending $500 more is bothersome with little to no details on what you actually get.

What really grinds my gears is we haven't really been delivered everything promised from the Phoenix packages we've already purchased. Many of us are waiting to redeem our faction medallions because we don't know what they'll do for us when clan wars are released.

I guess I'll revisit the idea of purchasing any of this in 6 months, if I'm even still playing then.

This is why Bryan's twitter claim about always delivering package items on time is baffling. Is everyone enjoying the Loyalty Point boost on their Phoenix Mechs?

I know they enjoy using words and just ignoring their definitions, but this is getting pathetic.

We were sold a bill of goods with the Phoenix Packs, and a key component of the sale for me was the promise (yes it was a promise) that Phoenix would bring the first piece of CW and actual progress on the core features of the game. Instead we got lied to about what they were working on. Had they been honest about the lack of progress on CW, I would not have been suckered into buying the Overlord Pack.

That was the last straw, and I feel bad for anyone who has yet to learn the lesson from these people. This is not an organization that cares about Battletech/Mechwarrior. They're simply here to feed on your nostalgia for as long as they can before moving on.

@Crusadiar, not really arguing it is / isn't. but since phoenix was recently release, with sabre 3 days from being put out...it points to what will happen next.

In a month or within the next few, we will probably see TrueBorn pack with the other popular variants, Vulture, loki, etc as some one pointed out earlier

The arguments of "But Star Citizen gets away with it" are completely laughable but I'll play along to try to prove a point.

I have invested in Star Citizen's development, just as I did for MWO as you can see by my Legendary Founder and Phoenix Overlord badges. I am hopeful for a wonderful game based on descriptions, plans and updates from developers.

Now if Star Citizen gives us a dogfighting module, where you can do nothing but fly your ships around and shoot at each other, then leaves it in that state for A YEAR AND A HALF without adding new features or fixing problems, while consistently telling us that updates are coming but failing to deliver them, and on top of that expects us to keep buying expensive new ship packages, then yes you will see exactly this kind of feedback on their site.

Wrong. I can name a dozen games that are having christmas sales right now. Plus steam will have a christmas sale like they do every year. So why should I give my money to PGI, who jacked their prices up, when better games are slashing prices heavily?

This art looks SWEET!!!!

Are the packages kinda pricey? yes. If you don't wanna pay, don't.

There is still a lot of information that needs clarification before I will spend any money. However, if everything adds up I plan on buying some.

I mean, this game does have the potential to be the best MechWarrior game of all. I just hope it can get that far.

No it isn't. It wasn't until they put out the PPC nerf that the hexstalkers were curbed. And even then it just shifted to a 2PPC 1Gauss meta.

It's just amazing how people forget even the recent past.

We still have that, It just takes skill because PPCs are Slower and including the charge mechanic with gauss. Most poeple use AC5 because of the non charge. That is why you see alot of Highlanders sporting this build. It will be used and abused if the players can just to get an edge!

"I want Clan tech to be superior to IS tech, but damn if I won't pay a penny more for it!"

Based on the price, Clan mechs will have roughly a 50% premium over IS mechs. If that carries over to heros, it'll be 11,250 MC for the largest Clan hero mechs. I hope that's the case, because the RAGE over something like that is going to make this look like a thank you note.

If PGI are reading this they should be worried. Because generally the feedback isn't that the package prices are too high, it's that the core game just isn't varied enough to be worth paying for... F2P depends on you having a fun, varied, replayable product first, not something that's starting to feel stale...

I kinda want it. The Masakari pack is 2 assaults 2 heavies 2 mediums 2 lights. Huge masses of iconic Clan hardware all around. But they dropped the ball on the "omnimech" bit by including variants-as-seperate-chassis. Meaning that omnimechs are functionally identical to the battlemechs we already have as far as customization. Probably with no fixed primary components (eg. armor, engine size, certain equipment and weapons) and no concept of omnipods. Plus the way they implemented this makes me wonder if there will be any real advantage of Clan vs IS equipment. Or even any real difference in how the factions themselves actually operate (Like...C-bills = Clan-bucks...or just C-bills...yeah!) or any real separation of the factions (looking like WoT, just buy what you want, don't care if your officially part of the Soviet Faction).
They certainly look good, very close to what they've always looked like. Familiar to anyone who knows BT/MW. Unlike mechs like the Centurion, which needs a name next to it to be recognized as even belonging to the franchise. Although, that Thor cockpit was ripped right off the Griffin. If I knew more, I would buy the 240$ pack of good-golly-molly. To hell with that 500$ limited-edition bling bot. As I actually have standards, and a budget.
