That said, I am having a very hard time trying to articulate the level of indignation I feel over the price point of the Clan mech packs.
I would have accepted pricing on par with the Phoenixi+Saber packages, but this is just absolutely ridiculous. The Gold mechs just add insult to injury. What's next, top hat and monocle cockpit decorations for $750?
The little kid in me, who was so excited about piloting a Timber Wolf has gone away. You can keep your Clan Mechs. I only speak for myself, but you won't be getting a single penny more from me until you fix your pricing, and come out with more than just a shell of a game.
I agree. I was sooooo (the extra o's needed) excited when I spotted that Timber Wolf. Then all those elated feelings where just ripped away from me when I saw the price point. I knew it would be priced high, but not at 210 USD. That price forces me to wait for the free version.
To add to my feedback, I think these packages should, at the very least, be split in two, at it's current price point (240 USD for both). What I would find ideal, is package deals that let the player pick their mechs, giving progressively better deals the larger the pack, throwing out the idea of tiered collections. Sure, the collections are great deals, on a per mech plus extras bases, but the total cost is just too great. The Phoenix Pack was a good idea and a better deal.
I wouldn't mind getting gold paint/textures for my special mech, but at 500 USD, only for clan mechs, and only for this package that is not happening. The Golden Boy is far cheaper and has plenty of gold on it. A better way to fix the awful gold mechs is to sell that paint/texture for 50 USD for any mech. That is a far better idea than 500 USD one shot wonders. If players could buy that gold paint all year long for any mech at 50 USD, I'm guessing the profits would be greater in the long term, and possibly short term. The gold textures is a good idea, but at a awful price and implementation. What is with these prices? Why charge so much? Why make poor marketing decisions on a 'gold' mine of a texture?
