Wow, great artwork on the clan mechs!

That said, I am having a very hard time trying to articulate the level of indignation I feel over the price point of the Clan mech packs.

I would have accepted pricing on par with the Phoenixi+Saber packages, but this is just absolutely ridiculous. The Gold mechs just add insult to injury. What's next, top hat and monocle cockpit decorations for $750?

The little kid in me, who was so excited about piloting a Timber Wolf has gone away. You can keep your Clan Mechs. I only speak for myself, but you won't be getting a single penny more from me until you fix your pricing, and come out with more than just a shell of a game.

I agree. I was sooooo (the extra o's needed) excited when I spotted that Timber Wolf. Then all those elated feelings where just ripped away from me when I saw the price point. I knew it would be priced high, but not at 210 USD. That price forces me to wait for the free version.

To add to my feedback, I think these packages should, at the very least, be split in two, at it's current price point (240 USD for both). What I would find ideal, is package deals that let the player pick their mechs, giving progressively better deals the larger the pack, throwing out the idea of tiered collections. Sure, the collections are great deals, on a per mech plus extras bases, but the total cost is just too great. The Phoenix Pack was a good idea and a better deal.

I wouldn't mind getting gold paint/textures for my special mech, but at 500 USD, only for clan mechs, and only for this package that is not happening. The Golden Boy is far cheaper and has plenty of gold on it. A better way to fix the awful gold mechs is to sell that paint/texture for 50 USD for any mech. That is a far better idea than 500 USD one shot wonders. If players could buy that gold paint all year long for any mech at 50 USD, I'm guessing the profits would be greater in the long term, and possibly short term. The gold textures is a good idea, but at a awful price and implementation. What is with these prices? Why charge so much? Why make poor marketing decisions on a 'gold' mine of a texture?

On another note, I do intend on getting them, because I fear if the game fails we may never see another Mechwarrior based game again. It may be a rocky road but I still am hopeful that eventually things will be worked out by next year and we will have a game worthy of our devotion. For now I will support them and remain hopeful that it will get better.

And this, my friend, is the essence of Stockholm syndrome.

I don't post often, but speaking as a founder who was buying MC each month until the 12 man c-bill nerf brought into question the overly greedy future of the PGI strategy roadmap, it's sad to see a great game that has all the basic BT mech gameplay down so well, yet wasted the last year of dev time focusing on cashflow DLC and paid mechs instead of finishing the core deep gameplay that was promised and what many of us are buying these mechs to play in.

PGI stop wasting your dev time creating cash grabs that ruin the good will of us fans who fund this game, focus on delivering the deep gameplay that you promised, once you have burned the trust of the paying customers, you are left with nothing but the unhappy publisher and accountants and a dead game.

I will not spend another cent on MWO until you deliver the CW gameplay that was promised, everything else is meaningless if all we have is team deathmatch to use it in.

God I loved that game. Please PGI, make that CW!

EDIT: There is something horribly wrong with that map, it's been Photoshoped to reflect a wishful outcome of what the territories REALLY looked like.

Yeah...not seeing very much purple... :(

Agreed. I for one... would like to apologize to the MWO community... I thought I was helping... I had no idea it would turn into this. Please forgive me. :(

I started MWO in the end of May 2012, very start of Closed Beta. Back then we had collisions, skill based gameplay, proper 4x zoom, GREAT NETCODE and GREAT HIT REGISTRATION, repair&rearm instead of alpha assaults builds and no-skill aimbot streaks. I even helped PGI to fix FPS stuttering issue related to mouse' polling rate.

I bought legendary founder, so it's 120$ and I guess I invested in MC the same for a total of 240$.

I stopped investing money almost a year ago, in February 2013, when I saw game catering to bad players, introducing no skill mechanics, all the broken promises and everything else.

If you supported this travesty longer than me, you are just not an old school PC gamer like I am, and don't understand what a COMPUTER game capable of and supposed to be.

After quitting MWO, I started playing WoT, it's an awesome COMPUTER game, that have a right to be called COMPUTER game, having much fun in it, it have great community and everyweek challenges and prizes for the players.

And you know what? They give you highest tier 50$ premium tank for free as a New Year 2013 present. Yea, IS-6, I already have it as my main farm machine so I just complete challenge, and instead they give me 11000 gold with which I will buy FCM50t for farming and leveling crew for my AMX 50 100.

Since February 2013 MWO became a joke to me, I don't know how you could've bought all these overlord b.s.

Yes, I love Battletech as much as I love Firefly, Tiberian universe and sci-fi and Timber Wolf is my favorite mech and I don't like its design, while other 7 designs are GREAT. So I won't even waste money 210$ on Timber Wolf because it looks bad, it needs to be higher, more iconic straight forms, missile racks extending from torso and having different hit boxes in game. Think of this Mech Package as a very sincere promise from PGI. Because at the prices they are charging if they fail to deliver on the game then there are laws in certain countries that would extract severe Jail time for Everyone at PGI. Fraud and Grand theft being some. So with PGI Rear ends on the line now we should expect them to deliver on all that has been promised and documented from all the public sources like Website interviews etc.

OMG. When did they anounce the Clan Pack? And 164 pages of posts more or less saying the same .. PGI, you really made my day. I wonder how you can exist as a company that way. Game busniess must be totally different from normal business. Imagine a plumber selling "Here have a draft of how I think I might be able to fix your water conduit" for 100 bugs.

Really why then is it not around any more, but on private servers, and EA killed that with hey guess what broken promises as well just pointing out ever MW title boils down to combat and just blasting other mechs. If CW flops then yes I will be dis-pointed as a programmer for robots and all I can relate to it takes time to get things coded and done correctly, Am I happy with everything no as I stayed, but core was the combat is their yes deadlines are missed its going to happen. Am I going to spend a {Scrap} ton of money on clan tech probably but that is my choice not anyone else so why B**** about something. Sorry just adding my gas to this bond fire because I like big flames.

YOU TELL ME RIGHT NAO WHERE DO I FIND THOSE PRIVATE SERVERS AND I AM OUT OF THIS FORUM IN .5 SECONDS!
TELL ME!

I'd like to ask, Niko/miSs.

How big is this thread, actually? As far as I understand, the mods get to see the thread with all the deleted posts still included. Would you, please, be so kind as to take a screen-cap of it's actual proportions?

Thanks.

All they need to deliver are the mechs. I have no doubt they will be delivered. I have doubts that the game will be any different by then though!!

Those are called Blueprints, or Plans, or Engineering Specs. And that happens every day, for a lot more money.

Just saying.

Donning my fire retardant suit....

Their has never been a Mechwarrior game that has ever had a real CW, or other things in the pipe line. Every Mechwarrior has been about destroying other mech either those piloted by AI or those by other players. Yet everyone is pissed that game is lacking. No one is forcing to buying any package or keep playing said game. Am I happy about certain things no, but am I going to act like a little spoiled brat about.
In core concept the game is sound now if the other things planned failed well then that's another story. Ok I have my marsh mellows and hotdogs ready flame away.

They did it 20 years ago and then again with the 3025 EA version...

This was the GEnie one from like 1994:

So, let's try this in a bit more reasoned manner then, if you don't like us pointing out the things we're still waiting on in an image form.

I, and my unit, have been a supporter of MWO since the beginning. We've put in well over $10k in Founders packs. We've been incredibely patient, waiting for features to be added to this game to get it to where we were promised that it would be. Instead what we get is third person, coolant flush, ghost heat, and "content" that is nothing more than more mech packs for sale and a few maps. Sure, we got Conquest this year, I don't really count that as much of a content addition and nor do I consider Team Deathmatch to be one either.

We've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the fabled UI2.0 and DX11 and SOMETHING for community warfare. Hell, we'd be happy to have some form of organization ability on the WEBSITE/FORUMS, but we don't even have that. No unit tags, nothing.

Pardon us for being angry that when we hear that CW is in SYSTEMS ENGINEERING and requirements capture instead of being released 90 days after the move to Open Beta, like we kept being told when you got us to pledge for founders packages.

Nothing in that picture implies that you can't work multiple things at once. That picture indicates WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING for, and what has failed to be delivered to us.

I'm sorry if this has been a rough day or two for you, but ********. Our faith has been shattered more than once, with promises that have been taken back because your position at the time was different. The trust is gone. We see this Clan package put up, PRIOR TO PAUL'S POST (which doesn't allay all our fears at all) and we STILL see nothing on what Community Warfare will be or WHEN we'll even get to PLAY it!

I would hope the fact that I AM the leader of a large group who hasn't been vocally negative prior to this will light a fire. I think we have 2-3 people who are even interested in the package, and we had 5-10 uninstall last night when I did.

Where do we go from here? How do we get the trust in PGI back?

[Citation Needed]

I'm with you that they are recockulously behind schedule, and keep pushing that bar further and further away, but technically, we've never been sold anything we haven't received in full. (except the in-game badge for Phoenix Pack, which I think it was stated was going to be along with EVERYTHING else in the elusive UI 2.0)
