You're creating a -very- angry community. I'm beyond hoping that your marketing department has learned anything and am glad that other games will have this to look at as an anti-example.

Gold skin = Giant target. Have fun with those!

Gold skin is not actually a "Gold"-coloured skin. They mean that the 'mech is going to have a unique skin. Read the fine print.

So, we can add this to the long list of poor decisions, miscommunications, and imaginative pricing (let's not forget how much the maps cost...)

The sad thing is that at those prices they don't have to sell to that many people, and it is clear they are only catering to the most hardcore fans with the biggest wallets.

I think that their decisions reflect what I am guessing their analytics are telling them, they don't have many players, what that means for CW (if we ever see it) who knows! I would seriously love to get my hands on some of that data.

I paid $60 for the Elite founders package, more than I have ever spent on any other game. I thought at the time, what they had planned, and what they were promising was great. I wanted to put some money behind a project that I felt fairly passionate at the time, yes I was reluctant, but I put some faith in them. I also thought that if I played MWO half as much as I played MWLL it would be worth every penny

As it stands, I haven't played the game in months, and until I have a reason to (i.e. having some variety in their game modes, they implement any sort of metagame, or if my friends start playing again) I don't see myself returning.

I implore anyone who is considering purchasing any of these packages to not give in, perhaps if the "clan package" fails hard it will make PGI/IGP rethink their business model.

Charging for something in the planning phase that is not scheduled for release for another half a year (clearly all the of the clan mechs have just had their concept art created, and we all know how releases can slip, especially under agile) is something that is just about acceptable when you have new company that needs the initial funding to pay the early bills (you will rarely even find a kickstarter project now that does not at least have a proof of concept in place) It is however, not acceptable for a company to do this after their product has released, relying on peoples good faith, especially with their history is not a good move. Just goes to show how hand to mouth their business must be. Shame on you PGI.

More like EA bought up Kesmai, who actually created MPBT3025, Solaris, and (unrelated to BT/MW) Air Warrior. They actually had that basket service running for a while as well. Then they cancelled it to focus on the Sims Online and Need for Speed Motor City.

Incidentally a few other interesting EA MMO's died for the same reason. Earth and Beyond being one of them.

Kesmai had their Gamestorm service running for several years. EA bought Kesmai, and killed Gamestorm shortly therafter, sending all of it's subscribers an Ultima Online disk. Until my experience with IGP, I thought EA was the devil incarnate in publishing. I'm thinking they've got competition for that title now.

I especially loved when he referred to CW as "Clan Warfare." Well, if the forums, twitter, reddit, 4chan, the BT forums, and facebook are any indication, it is "Clan Warfare" indeed.

If you look up above you'll see that I pointed out that they have not delivered on at least 1 promised item:

Phoenix in game badges. These were stated to be included with the Phoenix pack, and they have not been delivered yet.

Also there is the 30% boost to loyalty points that don't exist yet.... that's a 1st degree bait and switch if not an actual one.

Then there was the phoenix 'exclusive' cammo pattern that they renamed 'hotrod' like 2-3 days before releasing phoenix content.

Come on roadbeer - you agreed with me that they didn't technically meet their obligations on Phoenix.

I'm agreeing with you in spirit, I'm just bypassing the hyperbole.

You're right, that the in game badge isn't in yet, Ok, that's a UI toggle to turn it on and off, and for those of us who are both, to toggle between founder and phoenix or none at all... that's a UI feature, why take the time to code something to only code it again in a UI that is impending SoonTM?

As far as the loyalty bonus, Why do you need it? There is no CW, so it's not like that bonus is doing you any good, and as was stated, the points are tracked and may or may not be added depending on how it would impact CW in the first place, in short, it's a useless metric at the moment. More useless than KDR.

And I also agreed with you that the Hot Rod thing was shady, but such a non-factor as I completely forgot about it.

i remember when they sold nails by weight at the hardware store, now they only sell them in plastic packs...

Many people hate the price, compared to other games it is steep. When you look at them as being sold other "real money only" mechs in the game it looks like you are buying mech bays & mechs that cost the same as jesters, oxides & boarheads (+ 2 variants?) but for some reason you have to buy them in a blister pack like they sell bolts & nails at the hardware store.

So what people are hating on is buying them in a pack when if they were sold them one at a time there would be less drama.

I think this is the second post i make

The first one was to defend the company and say that people need to waitt and the fine people at IGP will deliver.

Not so now

I have sinked in about 150 euros in this game i understand they are a small studio and that it takes time . But its unacceptable after 2 years all we get is mechs and maps and no new content. Even some lobbies would make it better. Something please

Hmmm... not looking good. Lets see what we have got lately:

-phoenix package. Many people bought this and yes, it was kinda good value, assuming that there would be more real content to come.

-aggressive hero mech sales. They are selling the best hero mechs over and over again. I bought my Ilya in a sale what two months ago and now it's on sale again.

-MC sale. This was long awaited sale... too long actually. I didn't buy because at this point I had already become suspicious and wanted to see some real progress first.

-Ad now, instead of UI 2.0 or CW we get... clan mech packages with too high prices. There are also ridiculously expensive $500 gold mechs available. Sale starts just before christmas and items are delivered after half a year wait.

I'm sorry to say this but this all looks like a last desperate attempt to milk more bucks from loyal fans who have lots of disposable income. I hope I'm wrong about it but this is how it looks.

I've spent $240 and I'd say I've seen about $15 of gaming value compared to other games out there and other BT titles. Seriously - Skyrim, $50 and I could play it daily for the next year finding new things.

And actually it's a bad sign prices are going up right? Because their fan base should be expanding - that's what 3PV was all about, right? Right? So higher prices means less total players. The end is nigh I fear.

I agree that compared to the missing major features the phoenix badge and loyalty points missing is a small detail by comparison *but* it marks the departure from failing to deliver in spirit to failing to deliver on contractually owed items. This is the type of thing that credit card companies listen to when asking for a charge-back.

It's also ominous because it's only a matter of degree from there to not delivering all the mechs advertised by the time advertised. A big degree of difference, but only a matter of degree.

Agreed. I for one... would like to apologize to the MWO community... I thought I was helping... I had no idea it would turn into this. Please forgive me. :(

While it's lamentable that certain apologist attitudes gripped some players for so long, I'm not going to kick you in the teeth a moment after you realized what's happened and feel a pang of remorse. Same goes for anybody with a gold shield and red star; if this is their breaking point, so be it. Welcome to the island.

With any luck it's not irreversible. There are still scenarios that would allow for turning this ship around and getting back to a safe harbor, iceberg damage or not, but there seem to be too many captains and they all want to go full-steam ahead.

ok, not my second post, but i feel for you mate.
we have spent more euros to this game than we would have spent on any other full product bought from steam, or from store.
And we have not gotten what was promised, or what we thought we would get.
So even us white knights, we need to bend the knee at some point, and say: "it is just so wrong"
This is the point. and we did a valiant job, but this is wrong.
