$80 for Founders.
$80 for Pheonix
$30 for Saber (which isn't even out yet)
$130 for MC.

I'll be honest, with all the money I've sunk into this game, I'm having real trouble justifying another $240. I'll probably do it, evnetually, but damn that's a lot of money.

Hopefully these packages will be around for a while; Christmas already has a lot of my money tied up.

We don't know how much is going on in PGI right now. They kept this under raps for a long time and I bet there is a lot more hidden in there somewhere we don't know yet. The fact that they have released all of this so suddenly and without anyone knowing is going to mean there is more we don't know. for all we know they could have a lot more in this just waiting to be announced.

Man, I sincerely hope you're right...

This feels kinda like a 'hail mary' play. This is scheduled six months out, and big prices. If this game isn't generating as much cash as PGI needs, this could be a last-ditch attempt to get an infusion of cash before things get shut down.

With all the previous packs, there's been a PGI rep posting a FAQ about it. That hasn't happened yet. There's also no details about the mech builds, no details about how clan weapons will be balances, and the video demo doesn't show much.

It almost feels like some executive made a "we've got to release it now" decree and the developers are trying to scratch things together as fast as they can. I've seen that happen before, from the inside, when a company is in trouble due to lack of sales.

EDIT: The fact that a dev said, less than two weeks ago, "We will update everyone once the final call has been made and who knows, maybe one of the planned BattleMechs will be announced soon™" has me thinking this was rushed.

I thought legendary founders was $120. Phoenix overlord was definitely the least expensive, that's why it sold so well. Also with IGP publishing them they definitely have the funding, so there is no point in speculating about how this is a final money grab before PGI flees to costa rica with millions of dollars.

Nash, pretty sure they probably have a lot up their sleeve. To people who listen to NGNG often enough, much of the fact they have a lot more going under the surface. Has everyone forgotten that PGI is Comstar?

A lot of you have brought up some very good points. And several of them are the reason(s) I requested a refund for the Overlord and Sabre packages a couple months back.

On a side note: why bash anyone for purchasing anything their heart desires, after all it doesn't affect anyone else and it's their own gdamn business. What may be a weeks salary to one, could be a half days wage for another, or less. In other words; to each his own.

Happy hunting all, regardless <S>

First off, there isn't enough info provided.

Based on this, $500 for 1 gold mech appears to be like daylight robbery. Even if you add the $240 set to it $500 is still far too expensive.

Now to the standard package...what's with the signed digital art, wallpaper and modules??? And the premium time too!

I rather have them replaced with selected camos for choice of mechs. The premium time should be scaled, not kept at 90 days; or the package split to 2 (i rather have the latter).

Edit
---------------------------
Just took a look at the standard package...$30 for 3 mechs and a title that says "i paid 30 bucks for mechs only" and $60 for 6 mechs and same title. That makes it a lot lousier than the pheonix package.

Guys, I don't post much.

I really have trouble buying games at $60 off the shelf. I wait for used copies or reduced prices. I think that I've already given a good $200 towards this game. This wasn't a kickstarter. It was a game purchase, and marketed as such.

Now, you are lording over players these releases of "More Content to those with more money", and it's really a kick in the ***. Like many before me, I refuse to spend some of these amounts on a single game, let alone for a set of 8 3D models as DLC in a game.

Imagine that Rockstar, on GTAV tomorrow, drops a DLC where you get 8 of the newest/faster/advantageous cars in the game with 3 sets of mods and colors, and they charge $240. Imagine all of the players who have already invested in the game, and paid EXTRA for DLC, and their emotions towards this and the people who can and will afford it. It's a frustration, and it'd turn me away from the game. If Rockstar announced a golden extra-fast Lambo in GTAV for $500, people would boycott the game. I'd return it. Call of Duty offers a golden rifle for $500. See, it just sounds like bastardry.

I really have a lot of respect for the devs of this game and the game thus far. It really delivers on capturing the MechWarrior core gameplay perfectly. However, asking somebody to pay twice as much as I did before Beta, now two months into release, so they can get an edge over my head, is just extremely frustrating. Charge less and I might buy in, but if it actually rolls out like this, I can't give PGI another dime.

-EDIT- Especially after reviewing the half-complete announcement page - clicking any of the models along the bottom of the browser when you first load (even the kit fox), jumps you down to the purchase form for the $240 package.. slyly. I just get a bad feel from this guys. Please be as serious about this game as I and our friends are about this franchise.

I cannot believe that they got Money Problems at IGP/PGI. If they have, it would be an extreme mismanagement. They received A LOT of Money already, so I doubt they got any Problems in that Direction.

About the Pricing for the Packages : Yes, the biggest Packages are expensive, but you get a lot of Mechs for it. It is okey to ask for these Prices, but to bring them that short after the Phoenix/Sabre Package is a little bit irritating.

The Golden Khan Mechs Prices are really a Joke, no Matter WHAT they add to them. In other Games you get a Lifetime Account for maximum half that Money.

I don't point to anyone who buys a golden Mech but I hope they will not sell them, so this Kind of Prizing will have no Future in MWO.

The price scheme is the same as the phoenix package was which is completely reasonable, the only stupidly priced things are the "golden" mechs. The only reason I haven't dropped 240 on this is because I don't know how the delivery is to be done or if I won't be able to play with other because of IS/Clan teams (if that ends up being a thing)

The more mechs you have, the less each one is really relevant. Really, I've got more mechs than I can use at this point, which makes passing on this much easier. (I got the Saber reinforcements primarily to support PGI, I don't really need more Shadow Hawks that are laid out slightly differently, but I don't really care that much.) The sheer number of tiers here also feels somewhat exploitative so soon after Project Phoenix, so instead of getting the whole thing (which I probably would have done had there been 4 tiers), I'll be buying none of them.

The $500 mechs-for-whales are especially over the top, but really I think it's foolish to launch this promotion before the Saber reinforcements have even been delivered, and before long promised additions like CW are active.

There is no thought. Unless you put a gun to my head i wont even consider spending that kind of money on pretty much just mechs.

If that is the case they have the worst marketing group ever! This has been one of my biggest gripes with PGI, half the rage on the forums is just over how they choose when and how to or not to communicate with us. Its like someone throws {Scrap} on the wall and sees what sticks!

This is still way better then Mechwarrior 4.

10 years of saving, thats $25 a year. so worth it for a great game.

Who is the joker that is coming up with this pricing? $500 for a FAKE "Gold" package of an ingame avatar of a mech that you pilot who is also an avatar that wears ugly green pants?

I really hope no one buys these packages, the pricing is absolutely out of this world insane and can only come from a truly desperate company focused on making money right now. It is clear, even after playing for only 1 year, that this game is simply a cash grab. MC Sales every week, new hero mechs every month, "Champion" mechs, mechs released as MC before C-bill versions released. Meanwhile, no new game types, no matchmaking balance, no faction benefits, ACs and poptarting dominates. It is starting to look really shallow and I'm losing interest in a game that only releases content that includes "BUY NOW WITH MC!!!".

Please PGI, focus on building your game as a serious online multiplayer.. the money will come if you put in time to make it a quality online PVP game. Someone at the company needs to step up and respect the people who play your game. Anyone. This is quickly becoming another very sad story of corporate greed.

I'd have expected you clanners to have brought up the "+2 normal variant" nonsense...

Why do you need additional variants for OMNIMECHS?
