I like how everyone is saying Elite is a better game then MWO, but doing it in MWO's forum. Are you guys TRYING to troll the devs here? Yes, things could be better or worse with MWO, but it is what it is, you don't have to pay a penny if you don't want in MWO, it was your choice, to that person saying "You don't have to spend $1000 in Elite". What if the game flops? What if the devs go bankrupt? Don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you don't like MWO, go elsewhere, but don't trash PGI's game in their own forum, have some freakin' honor and respect.

I dont think anyone here has said anything about how teh bad mwo is(its not btw). They are just talking about a game they like.(which just so happens to be in the off topic forum... you know that place you go to talk about things other than MWO)

Beat me to it :D

So, what's the approx. size of FDL? If it's the size of Asp then I may delay my Asp purchase and but a Type-7 instead.

I had been debating for quite some times whether i would skip the Asp for now and go straight for the Type7 because the asp would only take 16 more tons than the Type6 and would cost a lot more to upgrade and to replace if i died. My logical side said skip but my frosty side clicked purchase before i could repress it and man am i glad i got an Asp. SO much more enjoyable than the Type6, agile, fast and a canopy to let you enjoy the scenery, 6 weapon hardpoint and 4 utility hardpoint so you can bounty hunt some or defend yourself . Do less trading now though and cash making isnt good at all because im enjoying the game much more and left trading for later. I even dared go back to the cobra to try mining as well as a consequence of this foolish freedom i felt and tonight ill refit my asp for some exploration.

The Asp is awesome but it will put a whole in your pocket because its costly to upgrade and you just might want to stop trading for some times and just enjoy the game.

BTW Elite made 14million pounds so far and has 300k players, not so bad, pretty safe to say the future looks good. http://www.investega...1090700077096B/

This guy is a hunter, in the true sense.

Right now I'm grinding creds on my 104-cargo Type-6. I'm at 16 million now and hopefully I could get around 18 million tonight (I found some luxury traders that conveniently locates 20Mm away from a station :D). Then I would buy a Type-7, modify it and resume to normal trading - its 200+ cargo hold guarantees 2 million per hour, with the right route - in order to fund my Asp, which I will build as a multipurpose bounty hunter. I hope FLD comes out before that happens so I could choose between FDL and Asp - I mean, just look at FDL!

Ugh, I would go for two C2 beams and two C1 MC instead. Much less energy taxing against smaller targets.

Saying Elite Dangerous is better than MWO is like saying an apple is better than an orange. Its really an irrelevant comparison. The real comparison is whether ED is better than Star Citizen or EVE Online.

Although these titles all have a certain overlap due to being "space games", I think they are too different in the paths they've taken to directly compare them. Flight model, ship designs, realism vs gameplay, freedom vs detail ... too many facets that will come down to individual preferences and where it'll be hard to claim objectivity when saying "this is better".

Same with MWO. Although there is one area where I do feel compelled to draw comparisons - speed of development, even if the cause may simply be a considerably difference in studio size and priorities.

How many more years do I have to wait until I can choose pilot gender? /nitpick

I believe it would be smaller, but that's just a hunch based on the concept art's canopy size, and because Ziva is flying solo (by contrast, the book also features an Imperial Clipper with a crew of 5, and a Cobra with a crew of 8).

In a way, it could be to the Viper what the Viper is to an Eagle. Similar size, more oomph.
In the same vein, it could compare to the Asp like how the Viper compares to a Cobra, seeing as it is hailed to be a much more combat-specialised ship, whereas the Asp and Cobra are still very much multi-purpose.

Okay, guess I'll hold off my Asp purchase and wait till FDL comes out. Gotta play Space Truck Simulator for a bit longer in my newly acquired Type-7 a bit longer, I suppose... :3

So, how does all the "seeking luxuries" thing work? I too found some of those roaming type9, but i didn't know what they where usefull for, so i just headed for the neighboring station. Do they buy something specific?

Scan them first with cargo scanner to determine what they're carrying - right now all of them are carrying Performance Enhancer, for some reason. Then just fly to the nearest spot selling Performance Enhancer, load your ship up, then fly back to "seeking luxuries" and just fly by any of those Type-9s. Game will tell you when you're getting paid.

Also those Type-9s are bottomless.

And just between us, in LTT 7548 there's a "seeking luxuries" near Alexandria Ring outpost, and Alexandria Ring happens to sell Performance Enhancer...been exploiting that the whole day yesterday, I alone drove the price from 6.4k to almost 6.8k now  But the luxury trader's offer still gives you about 800 cred benefit per ton, and more importantly, when the time is right the outpost is only 20Mm away from the traders ;) And even if you're running a large ship that can't fit on an outpost, in the same system Boltzmann Gateway is only 2000ls away.

Uhm, yep, i knew about ltt 7548, but i'm sure i've seen other seeking luxuries ships in that sector, so i'll be wandering in other systems, just to avoid raising the prices too much :D. Now, if i could remember exactly in which systems i saw those contacts...

Any serius bounty hunter here? I feel so lonely with my about to be fully upgraaded viper.

Want to know a nice bounty farm system? Go to LTT 6278's asteroid belts....cobras all aver the place and if your lucky an anaconda too. 100 000 in less tha 15 minutes :)

Now anyone here that knows another bounty farm system out there?

I used to hunt in v816 erculis. That system has got 2 gas giants with asteroid belts, for a total of 4 extraction sites. That's also a really nice hunting location. Now, withe the asp/type7, i'm mostly going around exploring and trading, so, untill i'll be able to buy and fit the python (around 150millions at the very least), i won't be hunting that much.

It appears any systems with fairly rich mineral reserve asteroid belts/planetary rings with extraction sites are teaming with pirates, even more so when population is high. Sometimes I just super-cruise around my home system Eravate and occasionally a couple of high-bounty pirates pop up.

I gave up bounty hunting. Killing for cash will only take you so far, and my Eagle eats Anacondas for breakfast so this nothing more to prove there. Sold my Viper and Cobra to fund my trading Type-7 and I'm now making 200k every pit stop. Truly feel like working my way out of ghetto there, but until I can afford a Python, this is what the game feels like to me:

On a side note, i was playing around with the loadouts tool posted some pages ago, and turns out that a fully upgraded 'conda will cost you almost 600 millions... and yesterday i saw a player with a 'conda...

Back to college next Tuesday. Been grinding for cash viciously through luxury trading and am at 40 million right now, hopefully could make it to 100 before having to occupy myself the other grind called "real life"

Gonna rig myself a Type-9 with that 100 million, the ultimate trading ship. Right now my Type-7 could at most make 2.8 million in an hour - with vicious grinding, that is - but a Type-9 could easily give me 5+ million an hour. One step closer to Python....

So, it appears that luxury traders will be nerfed with the 1.1 patch... Goodbye easy cash :(
