Hi Mr. Pott I'm Mr Kettle!

Regulated environment. You play With or without Comms. You don't like that others are using Comms in a game that is meant to be played using communication, has a server to allow the use of Communication, is easy to use, and simple to get started.

There are at least three paths to chose from here.

Yours, Complain cause one does not like some are using a mechanic that is available to be used.

Mine, Use the mechanics or don't if you chose. Accept the results of making that choice.

Other, Only use Comms and always have the advantage

Are thee choices I see...

At least three paths As I see it.

Also, *Salute* to your dad and his service. ;)

So petition PGI to shut down these parts of the forums if the state of the game is a perfect as you see it.

So beyond stupidity to even counter.

I offer discussion you offer silence.
You say there are no choices I give you three.
We are discussing Comms here, in this thread, In other threads you and I sometimes agree.

Have you noticed I show you some respect by not stooping to insults?

I do keep disagreeing with you, but I keep it mature (if not a bit campy).

You want comms for everyone. Surprise so do I! But till then, we have TeamSpeak servers that the MW:O DEVs themselves use and support. Hundreds if not thousands of players have chosen to use the available supported Comms.

You have all you need to get the same advantage as those on TS3 but refuse to use it. It's like having Peanut Butter, Jelly, a knife & Bread beside you, but complaining about being hungry cause someone won't make you a sandwich! Even though Lil Billy is already eating cause he picked up the knife and made a sandwich for himself! ;)

Even if you force people to pug all the time, you will just get a scramble in teamspeak.

It happens now - get like 30 people in one big synch drop - after the match loads, everyone splits off into different chatrooms.

12 man premade groups with everyone on voice chat, in the pug que, stomping pugs.

I cant see the future but I would suggest it will be far more a help than a hindrance. You have to accept that stomps will occur as also accept people will game any system. The issue is reducing frequency of occurrence.
Having in game will also allow the experienced to help the new and let casuals get more intell on the field. It would increase the frequency of challenge for premades.

The only downside in this is for one segment of the game population. I feel that segment is very well represented in this thread.

I am not a fan of this. I don't complain when it happens. 8 (then 12) man teams were separated from the PUG matches, to try to circumvent this is cheating. But if you want to cheat, I will do my best to win by the rules of the game.

12 man should face 12 man. But I am really competitive, and will take on those odds when they drop.

QTF...

There is absolutely no argument that "in-game" VoIP is not sorely missed and it is mildly unconscionable for PGI to have back-burnered it for so long.

That said, it's equally disingenuous for anyone to claim being disenfranchised the advantages inherent in VoIP communication when access to a free alternative is so readily available to all.

Never has been a "Premade complaint" Its been an issue with drop structure. You clowns make it "evil premades" every time to turn it into an emotional argument. People are not as stupid as you would like to think and they vote with their feet.

I am trying to keep the game alive by increasing retention of new players. You see their posts everyday here which in itself is amazing because the vast majority walk away and tell their friends this game.....
You just want to kill it as long as it stays your way.

Want to learn the game?

When I first started, I was bewildered by this game. I downloaded TS and got onboard with a casual group of experienced players. These guys took time out of match to walk me through the mech lab, mech trees, pilot trees, loadouts, etc. They flew my wing in early matches to show me the ropes. I learned more in a couple of evenings than I ever would just blundering around solo.

As to the evils of pre-mades and TS:

TS teaming does not make you an invincible assassin and steam roller of PUGs. It does not instantly buff your piloting skills. Do something dumb and you will suffer just as fast as a solo player. A four man team still relies on the solo players to help win the match. We work with the entire team and we share info on chat.

A pre-made can get wiped out. It happens when you just get out played. Pre-mades do not assure victory. Not every pre-made is a try-hard goon squad out to squash noobs.

I honestly don't understand all of the hand wringing over pre-mades and TS. TS is a free download. There are public servers to connect to, and everyone I've encountered so far has been very helpful.

Before you jump on the anti pre-made band wagon, give it a try. You just might like it.

I haven't used "evil pre made" in chapters(ie pages and pages ago), as you pointed out, it IS not what PUGs are call us. However, how many times has it been brought up the "supposedly" for every 4 man on one side, there is one on the other. Now I cannot attest to this, as I don't know all the groups out there.

And yes, I DO want the game MY way, that is with as much variation as possible. Much as you want the game to be YOUR way. With limitations and restrictions.

Somewhere between the time you could just license a game engine and the time where basic features like chat/lobbies/etc, had already been invented for you.

Also it's been 24 months. Usually there's some semblance of progress in a 2 year period of development.

Your kidding right? You are currently not driving a BattleMech, out and about, killing other BattleMechs?

I think you should write into PGI and request they send you the rest of the game they are obviously sitting on, just to **** off the Community. maybe they will grant you your wish... ;)

Gotta love those ArmChair Devs that could build it in 3 weeks. LOL!

I think it is a good idea to give players the choice - total solo queue or solo queue with premades. But I don't think it would put an end to the complaints, as its not the premades that "ruin" the new user experience. There is more that can be and/or needs to be done. Easier ways to communicate is one thing (the often suggested 'command wheel' comes to my mind), better documentations about the "hows" and "whys" of Mechwarrior Online is another.
