This game has a steep learning curve and it takes some time to get a feel for it. You will get killed often in the process..........but the experience gets better as you learn if you have the patience.

My impression of the OP is he came in expecting a trophy at first spawn and becoming a elite pilot without any effort. Not going to happen in THIS game.........

Then he posts an "I'm leaving this game, and it shall be lessor for all in my absence" whine on the way out. Give me a break........

If a player is truly interested in learning this game and has the patience, there are enough third party resources to help them. I was proactive when I first started. I read every thing I could from every source I could find. I received some great help from forum members. It wasn't difficult and it helped a lot.

I came into this game fully expecting a challenging learning experience. I didn't come in expecting to be spoon fed my trophy.

Their really asking for 15 USD an hour so they can buy more premium time/hero mechs. And maybe a Clan pack.

SEE PGI! YOU HAVE RUINED THE WORLD!

Thanks to everyone that has helped me with this game so far, but i shall be uninstalling it at some point today.

I regret hearing that. Perhaps you could come back in September, things may be different then with CW and UI 2.0.

As the game is at the moment it is certainly no fun for a new player, to have to constantly die to learn anything...

There lies your flaw in strategy: you must constantly re-evaluate and adapt to your enemy, which requires some losing (Chess) . Also, if you only have fun when you win, then console gaming is more your speed. I have just recently begun to take a smarter tactic and I have been around for over a year.

Regardless of whats coming and bugs and other game issues, for a new players experience it is just awfull, as a whole this game feels as though it should still be in beta testing and not classed as a viable product to be sold. I have given suggestions only to be trolled and de-railed.

To suggest that a new player should be on par with someone who has learned his way through and through this game is absurd nonsense. Now I agree that you should be matched against people who are on your level and not above you (hopefully private matches will help). Also, finding and joining a premade group and getting VOIP is helpful.

I remember you saying you would enjoy the game if it were more balanced and that you would try to post in suggestions. I didn't see any of your posts there, but a lot of this community has problems with suggestions. I personally think PGI needs to re-do the suggestion sub-forum to minimize trolls and arguing.

Thanks again for the lesson in how not to make a new player feel welcome into a game.

Once again, this game has a sharp learning curve and it is a thinking man's shooter (don't take that offensively). The community can be very welcoming but most people typically end up fighting each other all the time and PGI doesn't quite know what the general agreement is (mostly cause no one can agree).

I do hope you come back soon though, perhaps some of the better aspects of the game will be around.

As a new player, I totally agree with the OP!

This game is very difficult for new players. Learning the maps is the hardest aspect for me, then the meta and then which mechs fit that meta....Sadly Mediums fit nowhere unless you are going a LRM support. Currently I manned up and spent money on the game for an Orion and what a different it makes using a mech that is well balanced! Once I get more C-Bills, I can start getting purpose built mechs. I really want to play a zombie 9a!

Good to see that you're sticking with the game. It takes some serious playing time to learn the maps and settle into a mech / playing style that you like. No tutorial can make that happen for you.

Once you start outfitting your own mechs, the fun really begins - and this game is seriously fun.

Sorry you feel that way. Maybe try again down the road, hopefully you'll find things better off then. FYI, MWO should still be in Beta, most of us just treat it like it is. Although, it isn't a product that is sold. It's free. Minor point though. Again, sorry you didn't have a better experience.

This. Really, I won't consider this game "gold" until CW is implemented. Until then, I pretty much treat it as a game still under development.

Don't make comments about something you don't understand.

I didn't insult any one. If you work fast food, it's almost a given you make at or slightly over minimum wage. In which case, most people don't have a lot of money to spend on games. So my point stands.

I may have insulted the person I was directing that comment at, but it wasn't work related, it was directed at his attitude.

FTR, I've worked fast food, both inside and delivery work. I've also worked as a janitor, was a roofer, did landscaping and many other jobs. Finally decided I should use my brain for something other than playing games and went to school.

I actually find more fun building mechs in odd ways....Sadly ingame I dont have the resources to do that :).

Or, as I suspect, none of us will be here as MWO no longer exists at that point.

The ship is on its way down kids, with holes below the water line and fire raging across the upper decks. It would be nice if the devs used something other than explosives to attempt to fix it.....

Sadly they dont have the man power to actually work on their game. They cant make effective new code apparently. I'm reading back and finding matchmaker for example has been broken since the game went live. And they've just let the steaming pile of {Scrap} that it is ride for over a year and a half the game has been "live". They are finally going to "balance" it sometime in the next 4-5 months as stated in the dev postings. Seriously, WTF ? And thats only one issue.

Thats got to be the ultimate insult to those who've endured it all this time.

The problem is they don't have unlimited funds to hire an infinite number of programmers. You seem to fail to grasp the concept of priority as well as showing a lack of research and knowledge of the topic.

Many of the updates rely on UI 2.0 or replacements are already planned using the new interface. So why fix something to only wind up replacing it again?

Simple: you attack him, therefore you MUST be defending PGI against even the most logical attack on their most OBVIOUS failure.

You might want to look up what that word means. If anyone's butt is hurting I would imagine it'd be yours, oh after enough times I guess maybe it's used to it.
