I favour LCT-1V

Yes, the DHS are worth it.
The ERLL fires fast enough and hot enough to warrant it.

I run the same, except 1/2 ton MG ammo for increased armor on the arms, as I found I would usually lose the arms before the ammo ever depleted.

It would probably be sniper optimized by dropping the MG altogether for an extra DHS given that it runs really hot, but tearing off components at close range with the locust is just way too fun to drop them.

P.S. Just as an addendum, it looks like I fired something like 5 thousand ERLL shots during the event. I think I'm seeing blue lines when I sleep.

Look at that Locust leader board!

I see some of our own up on that thing!

Go T.U.L. Squad! White Bear 84 and Dino Might even made the top 10!

I'm a disgrace (ranked 60) to our glorious locusts (Then again, I only got to play 24 matches in my locust during the entire weekend.)

I feel ya. I'd already fully leveled my 1V, so I thought of this event as an impetus to work on some of the Phoenix mechs I'd ignored til now (read, every other dang one of them ;) ).

Played my S-Hawk a bit, but mostly my T-Bolt really.

Might have been able to rank higher in each, except that I didn't realize you had to solo drop for pretty much the first 24 hours of the event.

Even so, it was honestly really fun, and challenging, to roll out in mechs and playstyles I don't normally use, and see how I did. Still, the fact that I still had exp left to grind on them in the first place says a whole lot about where the Locust lives in my heart (which is to say, in all of it  )...

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Our own White Bear 84 is #13 on the leaderboard and climbing! Keep it up, brother! Everyone break out the pom poms and give him a hand if you see him in game!

You guys!

Finished up in 3rd place, only 6 points behind second!! This was the final round that bumped me, after getting 4 solo kills and 4 kmd's :D

LOL, I count myself lucky that I didn't run into you then (I only started playing the last 4 hours of the round).

Many nailbiters there, especially at the end. I, too, didn't realize that only solos counted, so I missed out on about 2 days, including my travel time over the weekend; however I was dropping hard and fast on Sunday/Monday, so I got plenty of games finished.

Great job one and all. It was a lot of fun. Those moments when your solo kill gets ruined by someone with LRMs...
My best games were on Alpine, which I dropped on all of once on Monday in about 30 drops or so. I needed an extra 2 or so days and a whole 'nother mech's worth of firepower and luck in order to have a hope of catching White Bear.

The first time i took a leaderboard event a bit more serious... place 5, whoa. Did not expect that. First i just made the 20 games for the personal challenge, then also had a look at the leaderboard. 26th, "okay, just try to get into the top 25, you're so close to that"... jumped to 13th after few matches. "Come on, top 10, here we go!". 6th... legendary match i describe below, 4th. then had to go and wait. 5th place at the end, cool. :)

There were some matches with pure luck, assaults who didnt care whats on their back, disconnects for fast solo kills (one was definetly too easy with that, ended up with 7 kills. wtf?). I also had the honor to play some matches with fellow locust-pilots, Kyynele for example, i think i also had a match with White Bear?

But the best by far, my most awesome match ever was with Wolverine (P2 at the end) on Alpine. He was on 5th place at that moment, i was right behind him. Jokingly said to our teammates to killsteal all his kills, as i wanted to get his 5th place. Did not work that well, we two locusts were the last ones on our team, with i think 9 of the enemies left. in the remaining like 9 minutes, 100% guerrilla warfare with running away, hiding, poking from far away, we managed to kill all but 3 of the remaining enemies, partly because they were to slow (3L Ravens, i think 2), or close range builds. after 14 minutes in the match we made the mistake to not run away, but stay and let them too close to us and where overwhelmed. We ended with 4/5/780 and 3/6/821, and i think P3 and P4 in the leaderboard.

Its a pity that this game has no replays, and i also didn't have the idea to record it, i think it would have been an awesome watch for others. Quoting teammates: "THX FOR WITNESSING THIS" + "that was some awesome fighting", together with cheers after every kill we made. Made me a really happy light pilot, not just being called little pest ;)

+1...used to play IL2 back in 99 2000............THEY had replays..a TINY file you could replay, watch from any angle, any plane, external or cockpit.....

and here we are, 15 years later, quad core processors, 24" monitors, dx11's video cards with more memory than computers had then, and.............sorry no

Nicely done, Neteye. Those are the best kind of games, when you can make an enemy with overwhelming numbers and tonnage sweat, and wonder whether they have what it takes to best the lightest mech in the game.

It sounds like it's time for you to get a new NVIDIA card with shadowplay. Would have loved to see that video.

The one time I encountered Wolverine was in bog, I caught him out trying to flank our team in the water.. ..we both ended with scores below 40 damage as both of our teams converged on us... ...not one of the good rounds :P

Had one round where I was the last with 6 very badly hurt mechs, was set up to be a beautiful round as I already had 4 of the five kills, they were even very badly beat up.. ..unfortunately there was too much focused firepower and I went down without any additional kills. 800 damage was nice though.

It was a good bit of fun, so many matches close to qualifying really highly - but chance and small mistakes like timing peeks wrong made it all that bit more challenging. The locust is so much fun to run though and you play it right you really can be a huge benefit to your team.

As a mech it certainly deserves more respect than people often give it. In the right hands, it is a cold blooded killer :)

Kudos to all those who partook in the challenge and gave our little champion a go :D

That is why im mad. i have a card with shadowplay, but did not have it running. :( i barely use it for other stuff, but never used it for mwo but once for a bug report...
how do you have set it up? like have it save the last 15 minutes? maybe will let it run from now on, if it happens that i get an awesome match like this sometime again...

I have mine set to 20 minutes at the highest bitrate. It makes two 3-4 gig files of each video I save, but the nice thing is you don't have to save anything you don't like, and it's oh so nice to just press a key to capture it all after the fact when you have one of those stellar matches. I set it both for manual (record when you select) and auto (continuously recording but will only save last 20 minutes when I choose, and keeps overwriting that buffer otherwise). It's one of the best recording tools around, and should be on all the time because it costs you next to nothing in performance and some temporary space.

Note: always go back into the Geforce Experience software and turn it on again after a vid card patch. Every update turns it off for some reason.

Everyone calls you a little pest, until you burninate their faces with your guns, and crazy speed. Suddenly, you're the MVP.

Whaaaa, I just accidently sorted the light mech forum by start date instead of most recent replies and my heart died for a minute when I couldn't find the locust thread... Then I realized what happened and I am better now. I don't know what I would do with my life if this thread were not here for me to post on ;)

Honestly, with the 1V, and 3V locusts running ERLLs we can make sure there is no tomorrow.

-WHAT'S THAT? I CAN'T HEAR OVER THE SOUND OF BURNING YOUR FACE FROM ACROSS 2 MAPS!
