Could You Address The Matchmaking

Not for nothing but dropping with half a lance and then having disconnects is getting unreasonable and certainly unplayable. If I were not mistaken I would think I was playing WOT a year ago. Dropped 4 times just before coming here short 1 player 2 players then 2 players and a disconnect. Now I know the disconnect is not necessarily a game issue but the empty lances is something you need to do something about and soon please. This past week I am seeing it A LOT.

We are not sitting idly on this issue we are busy adding additional monitoring in the backend services to help us to isolate what is causing these disconnects, there has been an increase in general DDoS attacks in recent weeks that is likely making the situation worse than it would otherwise be, but we are working to understand the cause of these disconnects and will obviously convey more information as we have it to share.

could u address the fact iv dropped over 500$ on this game yet i get to play 2 - 3 games per hour due to "FAILED TO FIND MATCH" and no i can't que as a lighter mech as HSR gets worse the faster you are moving so due to my locale i am unable to effeciently pilot anything smaller than a cataphract.

seriously though just process that.

I paid 500$ to not be able to play a game.......

Gave up on premium time along time ago on this account.

Villz there has been a tuning change made to the match maker today that should make this situation much better, please let us know how this works for you, I'll look to detail it for the whole community tomorrow.

Bro, that has to be a personal problem because i never have that problem, 500$ you should get better connection

Massive improvements. Played more games in 2 hrs than i usually could in a whole day of gaming before (8hrs or so)

Make me able to deselect Skirmish and keep Conquest and Assault and make Conquest more Conquest and less Assault!

I noticed an uptick in matches being found as well as the time to find them, much appreciated on that front!

I just figured because villz was so leet the MM couldn't find an acceptable team to pit him against.

Matches are found easier, but their quality is still in the toilet. Free wins/guaranteed losses remain the norm. I really hope CW includes budgeting for a new matchmaker.

It is nice that I can now play games and I do not mean to sound whiny but hours of free wins in even the dumbest mechs is kind of boring. I cannot imagine it is all that fun for the other team either but I guess the names change enough that nobody gets overly bothered with it. Happy medium would be nice? :P

I'm afraid it didn't work first match of the day my firebrand and another JM were the heaviest mechs on what i'll call my team, the other side had two atlases a highlander and a victor, plus a catapult and assorted extra's .

fortunately two of the assaults couldn't have hit a barn from the inside and the other two got swamped by us, as the rest of their team was pretty dire, so what should have been a big stomp, turned out a victory.

but, its not fixed

third match I played team 1 a single battle master team b two atlas and two victors (I'd like to say the the weight was made up by having more heavies than mediums but I can't)

4th game team one 3 assaults 1 orion, team two, heaviest mech cataphract

Was hoping to see the "detailing" that was promised today of what was changed. I should have known better than to see anybody in development stick to any kind of time constraint :unsure: Oh well. Sadly for some of us this information and the changes they enact can have huge effects on what kind of gameplay experience we end up with.

Matthew has generally been pretty forthcoming in terms of responding with information and the like. While these changes may not be completely desirable, it may also be beneficial in terms of getting matches found in a shorter time frame for more players. All of that data would be instrumental in the upcoming Matchmaker revamp, and I would wager that the answer coming would be one that will possibly incorporate some of these findings.

I like the concept of no fail to find. And i think everyone would be happy to see a doubling of the max que time to allow alot better tuned matches :-).

I think you could tighten back the matching to get better matches, if there was an elo ceiling introduced. People in the middle range would still get great matches, while people higher wouldn't have to deal with absolute beginners on their team as fillers.

I have not had many good matches since friday (maybe 10%) - only boring stomps in both directions.

team 1 seven assaults
team 2 one assault

match making doesn't need tweaking it needs kicking on its behind and starting over

While I do think completely the same weight balances with exactly the same mechs would be dull, there is clearly something very wrong.

The last few days I've been posting a few of the most obvious imbalances, and only focusing on assault mechs but there are now very few close games anymore, its rare that the losing side takes out more than 6 of the other team and its virtually unheard of that a team ging 3 down, turns it around and wins.

under the current conditions its to big a gamble to go out in anything lighter than 65 tonnes, ok some of us accept it and do it because we want to master mechs but if its down to wanting to win and wanting to grind c-bills its a waste of effort to launch piloting anything but a hero heavy or assault mech

I agree with Cathy : with the current MM, when you reach a certain level of ELO score, you are forced to play in heavy/assault.
