This is FREE to play. Usually you go in a store and buy a game for 50-80 euro.
Premium time boosts you 50% and a Hero mech 30%.

Premium time per month : 8 euro

Hero Mech : 8-20 euro

You cant tell me that you have not 28 euro leftover or at least 8 euro per month. Thats not even a meal.

Yes i really complain about C-Bill complainers. If they rise C-Bill income they dont earn money and that means the game will be shut down.

So this is basically a Pay or play game or a Pay or your mechs look green and ugly game.

Founders program >= 5mil $.
Project Phoenix ~ 10mil $?
Clan Invasion ~ 30mil $??

Those funds obviously didn't go to hiring new programmers and devs, fixing bugs and balancing the game. So I'd say they earn enough.

I've been in countries where that is way more than a whole family spends on meals per week. Not everyone is eating in the Commodore you know.

Every week without fail one of these threads, is it some kind of sponsored propaganda to try and get people to cough up cash? Let me ask you this then.. Why should we pony up any money when there's been next to no development in the last year and all they seem to do is punish us via economy nerfs etc just to try and force us to buy premium time?

I, like many other people, play and spend cash on multiple games at once. I spend up to £200 per month on games including Planetside 2, Guildwars 2, War Thunder, WOT, and many steam games.. yet i haven't spent another penny on MWO since the Ilya Muromets. Why? because i don't feel the game in it's current state is worth investing any more money in currently.

I'm sure many others on this forum are in exactly the same position as me and feel the same way, so your FREE to play speech will only serve to irritate people.

One of the main marketing concepts for MWO pitched to investors was success of the F2P model.
Bryan Paul and Russ have told us how great is is for us and them on multiple occasions.

If the game gets shut down because they are not making money than the game and marketing are to blame not the people that don't enjoy the game enough to spend money on it.

I think at this point most people have decided to stop throwing money into the fire.

Well, the gold mechs are a bridge too far, unless they reveal that the unique module grants you a shield like the Ragnarok from Mechassault had.

It's free to play, but it can also be quite the grind playing the game for free as setup.

The problem I'm seeing with spending actual money on this game in particular, as I did - 50 bucks for 12,000 MC's - is that you really don't get much for it. What have I gotten? I bought a mech for 6,000 MC for the 30% boost. That mech essentially cost me 25 dollars. I also converted some XP to GXP. Still have plenty of MC left, but Christ... If players really got invested into the game you can spend an absolute pile of money on it compared to many other games. And for what? Just to play it online without any kind of single player to go along with it? I like the game pretty well, think it's a great concept etc... And I'm contemplating going for the big $240 Clan Collection with the income tax return... That would be nearly $300 invested into this game. But that is also how much (borderline) I like game.

The only way I'm able to somewhat justify even thinking of spending that kind of money is knowing I'm a gamer and it's a hobby, and most hobbies cost money. But that still doesn't change the fact that I think it's ridiculous.

As someone who as clearly spent money on this game I think you are wrong, and that they should raise the c-bill income. Now what?

With more CB rewards the premium bonuses whould be stronger and more people whoud be interested to get them. Also Free players too are life for f2p games, why? think.

I will also add that free players are also content for this game, and if you scare too many away with tedious grinds you may not have much of a game worth playing after awhile.

i spend 60$ to get 20 mechbays
'''Tripe A game prrice"" (This game feels like its aimed at "whales" sometimes)
to get enough mechbays to ONLY BUY ALL THE LIGHTMECHS (not including C-bill grind)

or less then half of the mechs available
or all the mechs that were available in extremely early closed beta)
Jenner-Raven - Hunchback - Catapult - Atlas = 23 Variants

It's quite simple
PGI increased the cbill grind because, and I quote, we were "earning too much"
Why were we earning too much?
Some babble about how "premium content" was easily accessible by a steady grind
This premium content PGI referred to was actually assault mechs
Assault mechs cost the most and why would anybody pay for something easily accessible?
PGI raked in the dough with the founders and PP now even more so with the Clan packs.
Why wouldn't they make it harder to get more stuff for free?
This whole thing has been and always will be about money for them.

As a player who didn't buy Overlord or Founders I'd like to say that I buy a Mechbay and one-time camo for every mech I keep along with colors for those camos. Giving us more c-bills would make me buy more of those, so it seems like a sound strategy.

I paid 60 bucks for this game, thank you very much. We're in the midst of the great C-Bill Depression.

Its like as if the person were hired by or put in battle by just put you in a battle and say "we will pay you minimum wage for every mech and component you destroy along with the match that is also minimum wage take it or leave it!" then of course your pilot is stuck with a face like this

1. Source?

2. Source? I mean damn, if they haven't done anything, then why all the bitching about ghost heat, weapon buffs/nerfs etc? Better yet, why I am not crashing all the time anymore?

Then they probably aren't playing this game. If you are broke, then play for free and ****. Or better yet, quit playing, and spend your time in the library reading and studying so you can try and get a job or a better one.

Great idea, make it Pay to Win!!! WTF is the problem here? They are almost entirely bling. The unique module could be anything from more money, XP, or play music like the Heavy Metal. Don't want a $260 mech? Don't buy one.

So? You don't need that many mech bays, unless you plan to keep all the mechs. If you do, then what's the problem? Smart money would to have been to just buy the Ravens, keep the one(s) you like, then move on to Jenners etc. Buy mech bays as you need them. Thus if you hate a given variant, sell it and use that mech bay for the next one.

Or here's a thought, start a bunch of new accounts, one for each chassis. The new player bonus will help you get just about any mech, if not all three.

Swear to god it's like some of you people can't or won't think and just want the whole ******* game handed to you because your mommy said you were special or some ****.

Now if I was rude to anyone who DIDN'T deserve it because I misunderstood their post, I apologize. For the rest of you, suck it and grow up.

So do it or go elsewhere. Again what's the problem? I am now averaging around 100K without bonuses because I suck less than i did when I averaged 30K a match.

If you don't like the actual game play, then does it really matter how much you make?

You do realize that it takes a skilled programmer about one day to do everything you mentioned ... not 2 years. You might not crash anymore but others do, go no further then tech support of this very forum.

This is my problem in "mechwarrior 2: mercenaries" you were payed MORE then that like atleast 300,000 cbills maximum and the mechs were a bonus!

How do you elite that hero mech? have to buy 3 right oops left that one out.

You right pay for the time but what you get is lopsided curb stomps 12-1. How do you make any money doing that?
Right you dont.

SO at the end of the day, there you sit with your golden smile mech paying for time that rewards you squat. Now imagine that without prem time. Why even play right - seems like a lot of people dont.

Now lets talk about what the devs have delivered on...................nothing. 3pv,ghost heat - something everyone has been waiting with baited breath for.

Prem time is useless with a poor matchmaker. And since there isnt role warefare you need to spend at least 50 bucks to get an atlas in order to get any damage at all or take enough and dishing some out before the game ends 12-1.

founder 5 mill confirmed.
30000 PP@ 80 max = 2.4 mill
saber re - nothing noted.
They are going down not up - why do you think the price of the mechs are increasing?

I dont know because I still crash all the time!
