Is it icing or is it just the dust showing?

Both.. These 'icing'' show also in Tourmaline Desert. Whatever you call it.

I just took my Atlas out on the HPG Manifold map, and sure, my glass got a little iced up, but hardly anywhere to the point where it was difficult to see out of.

People claiming that the cockpit glass is making it hard for them to aim probably just need to learn to aim better, and to stop blaming something else on their skill. Seriously. It's pretty hard to even notice at times unless you're actively looking for the glass effects.

I agree, also considering these mechs ran so hot that the pilots often wore shorts and tshirts inside makes it hard to believe that they should frost over. Maybe if you were shut down for a while.

There are enough visibility issues due to the HUD's color as it stands without making more problems.

been playing a 3d to finish off its mastery, its kind of annoying on HPG, kinda ruins it in fact. the other maps ive played on so far have been a non-issue (I haven't played all maps yet)

No really sure what it adds to the game. But its less annoying than film grain at least. because at least it has some kind of logic behind it.

Must agree. Last thing this train wreck of a game needs is new ways to make it harder to see.

Just pretend this is another means of reducing "time to kill".

I played a full match on frozen city night and didn't even notice the effect. It shows up more on crimson strait but still isn't a problem.
I like it.

Folks, post screen shots when you can. I'd love to see some examples of how bad (or good) it is.

They said they would have it toggle-able for video makers.

And here is a new concept: Adapt your tactics.

Is there a tactic that removes screen obstructions?

PS: How will they distinguish between who is a video maker turning it off, and who is just an average player?

im all for 'realism' and cockpit glass cracking
but a mech reaching temperatures that melts cars can't melt the ice on its window?!

They worked on this for months...and it is not cracking. Later ™. It's just a little bit rediculous.

so anyone have the setting on graphics settings to make this go away (like the infinite vision of low graphics detail for seeing mechs you shouldnt see?)

See thread title.

After the update. It totally does not make sense. Why even bothering adding it? And it blocks your vision.

As of today we have electronics who prevents getting iced windows. Either let it 'warm up' when your Mech walks a few metres or in the heat of the battle.

Or just make this un-done. This 'fancy' addon is not adding any realism to the game at all.

Update: These 'icing'' show also in Tourmaline Desert. It's probaly some 'reflection' overlay or whatever some kind. These so called 'icing' does not show up when i angle my Mech cockpit to the sky.

/yawn

That's kind of scary, can PGI put more thought into their features plz?

I mean, the mech is so hot, it needs to shut down otherwise it'll cook itself and explode, but that damn ice just won't melt!
