PGI, please just admit your change ruined the weapon and undo it, so we can have a bit more weapon diversity again please?

Perhaps low ELO players are still sporting them.
In the hundred to perhaps thousands of games I played since the change was made, I've rarely seen any gauss rifles in use, nor been hit by them, nor witness teammates using them. It's to the point where if I see someone sporting a gauss rifile, I am genuinely shocked.

I likely must have a low ELO since I carry a gauss rifle on my Highlander (because) and a fair number of matches see and sometimes caught a few.
But I'm a lowbie so defer to your experience.

... or I pay attention, actually look at what hit me after the match is over in the summary page and even, shock of all shocks, stick around and watch how a lot of matches end, so I can very clearly see the loadouts my teammates were packing.

wow, so you cracked the system and know your Elo score, eh sparky?
Willing to bet mine is higher, and I still use Gauss just fine.

Since you seem obsessed with proper grammar and punctuation, "Elo" is not in all capital letters, as it's not an acronym. It's a name. Shall we continue?

You may notice I never once said I couldn't use one, I do however find them much less useful now.

But if anything, I have seen an increase of Gauss use over the last month, most commonly Gauss-Jagers, but also Highlanders and Victors. And quite a few Champion Dragons, which truly shockingly, were using their Gauss effectively, leading me to believe it was not noobs.

I wish they would make up thier minds. Having to re-figure out how to use weapons every couple of patches is getting old..

And it's pretty obvious why; Good players can overcome a .75 second charging time mechanic.
Seriously, it's not hard.

That's what I've done now, and I have to say, once you get used to it it really isn't too hard. They increased the velocity significantly when they added the charging mechanism, and I've found that really does counter the difficulty of charging the shot. It takes away the ability to just hold the fire button down and shoot at maximum DPS, but the increased speed makes it into what it was intended to be in the first place: a sniping weapon for very intentional, well aimed shots, like a sniper would do. Before, the gauss rifle was like an AC-15 with some quirks, like the fact that the gun explodes but the ammo doesn't.
It is, in my opinion, more fun now, which I'd like to remind you is the point of playing this game. Just get over the fact that you have to learn it and it isn't easy. Easy is less fun than challenging.

LOVE the siggy.
Still waiting for the grammatical "geniui" (plural of genius?) to enter a cartography shop to order multitudinous map books, aka "ATLASES", and request 5 "Atlai", only to be met with a blank stare.

Elo more like Elow.
Or Elol?
I'm pretty decent, and I still see gauss rifles.

This thread: "Please oh please de-nerf the gauss so that the meta gets even more ballistic heavy."
Make up your mind, people. Sorry that one weapon is harder to use. Its better for the game this way, in my humble opinion.

Other than the inability to take snapshots it works much like it used to work before the charge change.
Can anyone confirm such a macro?

Also I died from a gauss once. But I do agree that I tend to die more often from ac20's then gauss's. I think it's just because people iz dah unskilledz.
