There's no logic in that, other than " I don't like it so "balance" it". Every heavy and assault that have JJ's where designed to be mobile. Otherwise they wouldn't have JJs.
That's not my idea, I am only endorsing it so I don't know why you and others are quoting me and my remarks as if it was.
You do realizes that in basic rule set of TT that there is no way to shoot while in mid air originally, ala poptart. So for any one to say 'well some mechs are meant for poptarting' is a bunch of bull. It wasn't till later that a rule was made for shooting while in mid air but that falls under advanced movement rules, so, if you were playing a game under these advanced rules you get hit with an accuracy penalty if you tried. So what I am asking for is nothing new or out of left field. As it stands nearly all MW games were being played under this rule set in a way but the problem is that no one put in the balancing factor. For the older games it was probably because of technical limitations of the games at those times, however, now with MWO we can put the accuracy penalty in where it should be. So in truth it makes perfect sense. If you feel bad that now that the game has shifted even more towards balance that is based on TT rules, then all I have to say is, what was it that you said? Oh yes. Learn to play. But this time we are playing it properly.
One more thing, given the current state of the game which is shifted heavily in favor of the big fat mechs while Lights and Mediums are being given the bird, I don't see really all that big of an issue of allowing Lights and Mediums getting away with it.
It just sounds like to me that you just don't want the one tactic that you rely so heavily on taken away. Oh, by the way, I to own a Victor and love it, I just don't want to feel dirty using it.
