Bugs that appear small and simple never are.

Remember the HUD bug? *laughs* That was pretty epic right there.

In that case, the haters have even less ammunition.

However, the texture bug has been around for how long now? Even though it's a low-priority bug and this is a small developer, I have trouble wrapping my mind around the fact that it takes months to even get acknowledged.

by the way how much money do you want us to spend ....sale after sale incredible... improve the game GIVE US COMMUNITY WARFARE !!!!!!!!!!!!! or maybe you guys cant do it if you arent able to post a correct sale advertising (Hunchback HGN-733C OMG shame on you)

I feel a strange urge to reply.

We are in the same unit, but some things have their limits too.

Let's start.

1- MWO Had sales from the beginning. They did this every friday, in bad times and in good times.

2- Sales are free to choose. If McDonalds has a discount on Burgers, do you enter the shop and yell at them for wanting you to spend money?

3- Typos can happen, your post was full of them.

4- CW is coming, first step is UI2.0 which is coming in a giant patch in 5 days.

Personal Note:

We have a behavior codex. Please read it.

If their burgers are known for inducing food poisoning and they haven't acknowledged it in a year...well, yeah, I probably do.

Okay, insert the name of every other shop in the world out there.

I just wanted to add:

That Merriam Webster includes this as it's first entry under noun: One who skulks. Thought this was pretty normal usage of the word. Not sure why so many are confused.

I was not confused.

"One who skulks of ruin"

How does that exactly make sense?

I used to own a Pretty Baby - it wasn't very successful in my hands but I did enjoy the speed (XL400!) and loved the paintwork - sold it some time ago now.

The only Awesome I have left is an 8T - fitted out with as many LRMS as I could fit and 5MLs - reasonably succesful for me.

Hardly a skunk!

Some of my most fun games have been in TDK. I've been 18 hours in the cockpit. One of the best lights (in my opinion) for its arm mounted lasers (arms that can move side to side and fully rotate). Totally different style game from the heavies/assaults I normally play. Even better now that the engine cap has been raised.

I concur, the TDK is a nice little 'mech.

I have a serious question.

Who writes your copy, IGP?

"Skulk of Ruin"

Let that sink in. Think about it, long and hard. No, actually, stop, because it doesn't make a bit of sense.

Look, the word "Skulk" means to do something in a secretive manner, to hide, or alternatively "a group of foxes."

So how do you really believe this has anything to do with a couple hero 'Mechs that are generally regarded as some of the worst? Are they hiding their capability to kill things, is that what you're trying to get across? I don't know a marketing team on the planet that would point at their own product and declare "This is ****, but please buy it."

In fact, in a bit of a literary jibe at yourself, you've accidentally just declared that these 'Mechs are going to send the player into a headlong crash. But they're going to do this stealthily, so no one will notice. I'm sorry, that doesn't make a bit of sense either.

The only way this phrasing makes more sense is to call it "A ruinous group of foxes," though this once again doesn't have a thing to do with the game itself. There are no fox themed 'Mechs in the game, nor would I think that sort of terminology even begins to apply to either of the highlighted heroes: A hybrid Awesome and a laser boat Commando.

I mean the closest you even could get to 'skulking' would be drawing a tenuous line between the origins of the word commando and this. None of these 'Mechs, not even the champion Spider 5K would be considered subtle or stealthy. The Pretty-Baby Awesome is the antithesis of stealthy, as are the Dragon and Highlander champions.

Seriously, I actually want to know what you were trying to get at with this. It isn't the first time, but it is the most egregious instance of a sort of word-salad jumble that sounds more like someone just thought the phrasing sounded cool.

"Skulk of Ruin" opened up for "Krib Deth" at last years OMGMetalpalooza, I'm guessing? :(

I am pretty amazed at some of the hatred on this thread. I can't understand it......
No one is forcing you to buy anything.
For those that want one of those mechs-great they get them a bit cheaper.
For those that don't-no effect on them.

Where does the need to spew hatred come from?

I know, right! It's almost like it's some sort of business venture that employs people on a full time basis so they aren't able to be gainfully employed elsewhere in order to make ends meet! What's with that?

But they could use the two minutes they use to set a 30% price-cut on these things on fixing bugs or features! It would cut the time for the CW to arrive with about 2 seconds!

As for communication, apparently they should use at least half their staff for answering insulting forum posts instead of something useful... that would not slow down development even more in any way. Its not enough they provide us with a road map, video presentations, interviews and sporadic forum replies to posts, they should hire more people to babysit the forums so we can have them posting every ten minutes!

But seriously...

PGI has sucked at keeping an open dialogue with their customers, no question about that. However these days people seem to dumb down a lot of post to the point of stupidity just to get a shot at insulting them, when they actually have started this year pretty good.

The haters would not be happy regardless what they do, just look at the Clan tech thread. When they try to engage in a discussion they get "OMFG u haz no clue how to desinggng!one1".

Then we have the trolls with the "oh Im so cool I uninstalled six months ago and just check in to see if they have "fixed" the game! (not that I play, or have a frigging clue how gameplay is today or anything, I just need some attention SEE MEEEEEEE!"

The people who try to come across with suggestions and tips for the game or systems gets drowned out by these people unfortunatly, and while PGI has not listened to these posts a lot, I belive that its like any other project in the real world;
You get input, you look at what you want to do and what you aim for, then see if the input can help you in your goal.

Sorry for the derail.

It's because most adequate players left MWO long ago. Posts now from new PGI's target group: MechAssault lovers or casual players.

I think those who are compelled to find fault in everything and anything and who take every opportunity to criticize, condemn, and complain, do so because of a low sense of self worth, depression, or some other sociopathic character flaw. They bring this baggage with them wherever they go. It has nothing to do with MWO or PGI.

It's quite sad really.

If you ignore, mock, and otherwise marginalize your players, eventually they stop offering constructive advice and start getting angry. I know that there's a vested interest in trying to blame the community for what has happened with MWO, but it's not going to work. We're not going to stand by and let you shift the blame.

It didn't work when you tried it for Hellgate London. It didn't work for Aion. And it won't work for MWO.

The community isn't at fault here.
