Well... It'd need some clean-up, but you could potentially 3D print it. If you wanted it full scale, it'd be expensive, though.

And no disrespect meant to Spark's awesome piece of work here, but if it's full scale you might need to make the pieces holding the front handle and shoulder stock on a bit thicker. They look a little thin to be 3D printed full size.

That's true. They're modelled as if they're made of steel plate, but a 3D print in plastic would be far more brittle. Though most 3D printers should have the resolution to print them, they won't support the weight.

Obviously what we need is room-sized 3D printers that print out of solid steel blocks so we can make Murphey & Stomping Absurd Firearms Division a reality. But who will buy our absurd firearms?

1034: No 3D printer exists that can print a functional, to-scale BattleMech. Stop requisitioning them.

Those already exist, been around for decades. They're called CNC mills.

But they're lostech.

You also need a bipod or some kind of mount for that monster.

1035--Do not attempt to shoulder fire Murphy's assault sniper shotgun machine rifle while looking though the scope. You'll put your eye out (from the recoil).

1035a. And your shoulder. And your arm. And your entire right side.

Well, a CNC mill would allow you to carve out a statue of a 'Mech, yes, but not the complex, direction-critical mechanisms of the fusion engine, myomer strands, etc. Also, a CNC mill is a subtractive manufacturing process where material is removed, whereas 3D printing generally refers to additive manufacturing processes. But yes, CNC machines are awesome!

Eye? The first three alpha testers, "Headless Mike", "No-Brains McGee" and "Armless 'Arry" reported more difficulties. Can you forward your firing procedure to R&D?

I want to make a comment on those names...

But they sound pretty descriptive as it is.
My only question would be whether those nicknames came before or after their testing.

Working for the S&M Absurd Weapons Division does include full funereal expenses amongst it's benefits.

Which begs the question of how long after they made their report it was before they needed those... benefits

1036. Whoever it was in the base machine shop that labeled the 3D printer "The Creator" and CNC machine "The Destroyer", you're fired.

On a side note - Hey Sparks, I have a new prototype ready for testing.

Well, melted and re-solidified plastic won't do much better in a fusion engine, and you can remelt the metal shavings if you're worried about waste.

As far as building a mech, you just get it one piece at a time

And a CNC could DEFINITELY make this

1037. The Company wishes to remind all employed ground warfare teams that the Skeletonics Exoskeleton is not a suitable replacement for Battle Armor.
