Engines:
- Standard
- Extra Light
Energy
- Regular (TAG, Flamer, Small, Medium, Large Laser and PPC)
- Pulse (Small, Medium and Large Pulse Laser)
- Extended Range (ER Large Laser and ER PPC)
Ballistic
- Regular (Machine Guns, AC2, AC5, AC10, AC20 and Gauss)
- Upgraded (LBX 10 and Ultra AC5)
Missile:
- SRM (SSRM2, SRM2, SRM4, SRM6 and NARC)
- LRM (LRM5, LRM10, LRM 15 and LRM20)
Ammunition
- Ballistic (includes AMS)
- Missile
It'd be easier to search through things with this. Or reorganize the inventory screen itself. It's currently laid out for energy weapons as this:
Energy:
Medium Laser, Small Laser, ER Large Laser, ER PPC, Flamer, Large Laser, PPC
Large Pulse, Medium Pulse, Small Pulse, TAG
Instead it should be laid out:
Energy:
Small Laser, Medium Laser, Large Laser, PPC, TAG
Small Pulse Laser, Medium Pulse Laser, Large Pulse Laser
ER Large Laser, ER PPC
Ballistics are just as bad:
Ballistic current layout in UI2.0:
AC20, AC2, AC5, AC10, Gauss Rifle, LBX 10, MG
Ultra AC5
It should be:
Ballistic:
Machine Guns, AC2, AC5, AC10, AC20, Gauss Rifle
Ultra AC5, LBX 10
As far as equipment goes there isn't a lot of equipment so that page is fine. With the upgrades page you have this:
Look at all that wasted space. You could be using that space to explain what these upgrades are and how they benefit the player. Complete waste.

I do. If you can remember how many heatsinks, ammo, energy, etc. are in the whole body at once, then I guess I'm not as brilliant as you BLOOD WOLF. hehe
Currently you have to click on each part of the mech to see what's equiped meaning MANY clicks. With a side box showing everything at once, saves you all this clicking. If realestate is an issue, at least use a hover box that appears showing everything. Really though, why WOULDN"T you want this?!?

What were you thinking? Why?
unintuitive.. ilogical.. ugly... and completly lacking in functionality.
im not just hating, and its not a case of "it will be good once we're used to it"
I so hope the Devs will listen to us, just like they did about 3rd person...
please stop catering to the lowest denominator. If this U.I is supposed to make MWO more attractive to new casual players, there are 2 points i want to raise
a) That is somewhat short sighted, as most revenue comes from long time fans of MW and The Battletech universe. They will spend their hard earned AdultDollars on MC and fancy stuff. Casual gamers may buy premium items once, then ****** off back to Call of Duty 17.
its Rubbish

it should be easier to see whats on your mech, i think them having something that shows you the whole layout of your mech is a must and will be very helpful

I would like to know what I'm getting for my credits before those credits are spent. I should not have to run over to SMURFY to get information YOU should be up front about.
There is no indication without drilling multiple layers into any one of fifty mechs owned what the loadout is or on which mechs I put all those modules.
The camo UI design is not helpful if I want to add a new color to my collection or try it on a mech before buying.
Is this 'buy-before-you-try' trend all that PGI learned from our backing the Kickstarter and Phoenix package deals? Because if it is, then you folks learned the wrong lesson.
For these reasons I feel your UI 2.0 is not an upgrade.

This would of been an understandable (if worrying) disaster back in beta, post release it boggles the mind. Combined with the amount of graphical glitches I saw in only 3 or 4 games today even double xp is not worth this.
But trying to stay constructive here are a few issues that stood out as needing attention:
If I set the filter to 'owned' mechs I do not want to see trial mechs. Also the option to have them along the bottom like before instead of clogging up the main window please. A filter should allow us to see all mechs we have, can afford or that are implemented in the game by weight class, weight, have, don't have etc.
Trying to check the mech tree and xp on each mech is laborious. In fact trying to do anything with my mechs is a pain. While not ideal UI 1.5 was actually much better looking and easier to use than this. Moving around and checking on mechs and info should be quick and easy, not entailing having to start at the top and make my way down through multiple layers to check the mech tree on each mech for example, this was a problem with old UI as well but it just plain looks worse now.
Changing load out. How anyone thought this was an improvement is beyond me. Gone is the nice clear visual representation of the mech, where everything is installed and what you are working on at that moment. In its place we have a small drop down menu on one side and a tiny list of (drop down menus of) whats on the selected section on the other. In the middle a pointlessly large area of the screen is taken up by the weapons/engines etc. with a minimum of info. I do like what is displayed when you hover over a piece of equipment but why does it not stay when we click on one? Pictures of lasers takes up most of the window while the important information is shrunk and left off to the side or worse requires hovering. We can't get an overall impression of the mech onscreen at a glance.
My founders premium time which I have never used has disappeared, I now have 0 everything remaining? If I click activate will it then show me how much I have or will nothing happen?
The general theme seems to have been, reduce the size of any useful info displayed and enlarge the pointless stuff. Then lets hide everything behind drop down menus.
We should be able to select a mech and access everything from load out to the mech tree without going back and down another menu tree. I am not saying menu trees are bad, they are useful and prevent clutter but they have been implemented terribly here and have been entirely over used.
To sum up UI 2.0 is awkward, clumsy and ugly.

I never posted or complained so far, because of the WIP-Acknowledgment.
- But over all I have to say to the new UI: It lets me recall a german term: "Verschlimmbesserung".
=> Something that was intended to be an asset but turned out to worsen stuff...
As such, I subscribe most of what is posted to this issue regarding too long ways to get where you want,
some infos are gone (upgrades), intuitivity (I click on the part of the mech, where I want to change stuff and get
a filtered list of modules), and so forth...
But - as I stated - I acknoledge the WIP-status.
I just wanted to add a voice, that this should be only temporary.
With regards
Kaz

I have been playing this game since closed BETA and have been invovled in the competitve community with SwK, Swords of Kentares, since open BETA.
I've taken my time with UI 2.0 before forming a solid opinion about it.
Needless to say, I cannot believe this piece of crap they call UI 2.0. Having said that, I'd rather have it out and be like this than continue the overly extended waiting game, so they at least feel the pressure to fix it, but to me this UI clearly shows us a few things about PGI.
THEY DON'T PLAY THIS GAME ENOUGH OR AT ALL...
If they did, they would know which information is useful to a player, ie. where modules are, what engine you have on, how many double heat sinks, etc. without having to click 10+ times to get to such crucial information.
The first thing I did in this UI was strip and rebuild a mech...I know it's a new UI, but it's extremely unituitive and not user friendly. Once again, new players are getting the shit end of the stick more than anyone. Who green lit this as a 'good idea'? Inconceivable!...at this point in gamings history.
We are all holding on to something we all believe can be GREAT, but continually get disappoint by silly shit like this that could have been EASILY avoided had they listened to their player base or had more experienced and informed QA testers.
Time and time again we have seen bad decisions and broken promises whilst this community pours its heart out only to get 90% of these fantastic ideas ignored.
I want this game to survive and have held on for oh so long, like so many of you...when's gonna be our time to shine and actually recommend this game to friends again?

If possible, (possibly it is possible without asking as though it possible could be impossible) bring/implement something that shows amount of ammo of each weapon (for the case of having ammo installed and no weapon/weapon installed and no ammo for it) as well as engine speed when equiping/speed of mech when selecting/hovering over a mech, and heat sinks installed.
Thank you
Best regards

Feedback for PGI, as dry and factual as I could make it:
* I finally found the "configure" button for a mech. That's some tiny text. I’m viewing it on full screen, 1600x900, and I have uncorrected 20/20 vision. I never had to squint to read anything in the previous UI, and I shouldn’t have to squint now. Most of the fonts need to be about 30% larger. Except for the ones that need to be 50% larger.
* I can change my weapon groups in the mech bay, but how do I tell the left Large Laser from the right Large Laser? I still have to go into the Testing Grounds, so it will still take quite a while to fix what you did when you erased that config file.
* I can't see anything about my mechs' current configurations unless I go into the menu as if to change them. I can no longer hover over something on a readout and have the hardpoint appear on the mech. The only way I can tell if a mech has an engine is if I find the little Speed display and it says “0”.
* Access to the Testing Grounds wasn't anywhere intuitive. Finding it was a matter of searching everywhere on the theory of "We still have the Testing Grounds, right?”
* Once I took a mech for a spin, I found more places where they'd changed fonts. Some fonts are just different for the sake of change, and that’s annoying. But, the cue for how much I’m zoomed in is actually harder to see now. The "3.0x" display would be a lot better if it was basically changed to bold font.
* When I go to the mechlab, it would help if the list could scroll to that mech, since there’s a > 50% chance any work I do will start with my current mech. Otherwise, if my current mech is somewhere off the bottom of the screen, it doesn’t yet matter that it’s highlighted. Instead, the immediately visible highlights are those of the mechs for sale.
* When I changed a camo spec, I found that the filter option for colors I own disappeared quickly, and I was just left with the "unlockable" filter. ... Even though it was showing colors I owned. Once I was done changing colors, and clicked "Back", I got a message saying that my configuration had changed, and if I continued, my changes would be lost. I started looking around for the option to SAVE my configuration, and couldn't find it. I finally made it work by going to Weapon Groups, and saving from there.
* I will NOT use “Check Out”. SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE
* When I click on "Play now", and the window pops up for me to choose the game type, it keeps defaulting to "Any". It needs to default to whatever I chose last time, like the previous UI. The old UI took less clicking. I also liked the suggestion someone made, saying that it would be great if we could just eliminate one hated game mode and leave the other possibilities open.
* I tried changing the loadout on a mech, and found that I can't click on the picture of the mech, or the "paper doll" we used to have in the corner. I want that back. Now, I have to look at the list (with the itty-bitty text) and click on that.
* Previously, I could see the armor values for all the components, all at once. Now I see them one component at a time. I want something like the old display.
* Finding modules is still a pain. I’ve seen numerous other people mention this on the forum. I looked for my “Advanced Target Decay” module, and all the grid display told me was “Owned 0”. No, I own one. The question was which mech had it. If I were a crew chief maintaining mechs with 31st century technology, I’d darn well have computer-based inventory control where I could look up an item and find which mechs have it. All this work to bring us a different UI, and you didn’t add a way to find where we’d left our modules. Instead of it telling me I don’t own the module, instead of showing the grid with the frivolous pictures, I would like it to say “Owned: #” and give me a list of which mechs have it. If we’re talking about a module costing 6M C-Bills, then that should be a short list.
* Previously, I could see a mechs weight at any time when I was tinkering with it.
* The display showing the mechs’ range of motion would be nifty at the right scale, but it’s crammed in with too much other stuff. I want to see a mech’s weapon load long before I worry about range of motion, partly because weapons are variable and range of motion is not, and I remember most of my mechs’ range of motion from the MWO Wiki. This display can be hidden until I click on something, thus making room for the fonts to be bigger elsewhere. This is the only feature that makes me say this: I’ll willingly make one more click when I want to see this. That’ll still be an improvement over having to look on the MWO Wiki.
* I can't put my mechs in any kind of order that makes sense to me. It's not alphabetical or by weight, or even the order I got them, so what’s going on here? I clicked on the filter "owned", and it still listed a bunch of Champion mechs that I don't own. When I got over my initial annoyance at change for the sake of change, it was replaced with annoyance at this being a cash-grabby feature.
* When I FINALLY found where to click to change my video settings, I turned up the textures and a few other things to try and make it pretty again. The picture of my mech in the mechbay still looks like crap compared to before.
* I dislike having the “Social” button off in the middle of nowhere. It previously said “Social” and that gave me some idea what it did. It was also bigger and easier to find. Now it’s as bad as the display in War Thunder, where the developers have the excuses that they’re Russian, and the game is still in beta testing.
Summary:
The new UI is change for the sake of change. The previous UI was better in almost every way. In fact, UI 2.0 is so bad it makes me want to play another game. Or think about work. Or clean a litter box. Or go to bed early.

Thank you Piranha this now reminds me of the old board game that I used to play in the 80's; hence I will not be wasting so much time on a silly game, whereas before I was addicted to a realistic simulation...

The lack of *meaningful* communication is quite baffling. Who knows? Maybe they've already answered all that stuff on twitter? Too bad I don't use twitter..
But anyway: Since they've already announced that we'll get a smurfy-style makeover very soon, I'm guessing that all this feedback is pretty pointless anyway. Simply because the UI we're giving feedback on will go away soon - or at least will get some drastic changes.
Which makes me wonder why they even bothered releasing this unfinished piece of software in the first place. I would rather have waited for another month or so and then get a new UI that *isn't* annoying and works at least as well as the old one. But hey... that's just me.

Realistic? Simulation? Oh, I wish. Sadly, this has got nothing to do with the UI. It's the shooter-like gameplay-portion of MWO that would have to be overhauled to fix that.
