Seriously, it would be rather goofy for them NOT to release the King Crab when the 2nd most popular thread in the suggested features section is a thread where people are voting that they would be willing to pay $40 for a pre-order just to get the REGULAR variants of both Crabs. PGI seems like they want to improve their relationship with the community lately and this is one of the most obvious ways to do it.

Well, I hope everyone isn't disappointed with the new Assault Mech. I already have Highlander and Atlas, so I'm not sure I really need something in between. Curious to see how the La Malinche compares to the Heavy Metal however.


Though I do foresee a mad rush of 3E's getting "upgraded".

I would like to see the Zeus. One timeline compliant Variant comes with a new weapon. The Blazer. Which, is two Large Lasers put together, into one weapon. It would literaly be two Large Lasers using only one HardPoint.

All you have to do is shoot its arms off and its basically harmless. I'm not scurred.

I think the Banshee would be okay, definitely rather have the Mauler though!

The Direwolf is an Annihilator on steroids.

Ballistics in each arm, one in each side torso and about 6+ Energy hardpoints to boot. IS Assaults won't stand a chance untill we get something like the King Crab/Devastator.

Banshee has a Ballistic, same with Atlas, HIghlander...maybe you might want to be more specific. Is your complaint about wanting two AC/20 on an Assault or quad AC/2 or AC/5? If so, maybe you should just wait for the Mauler...

6 out of 8 IS 95-100 tonners in the current era use double gauss rifles or some other heavy ballistic oriented loadout. Part of the reason as to why heavy ballistic loadouts are more commonly restricted to Assault mechs is because they are the only cost efficient platforms capable of using them.

Stuff like Boomjagers and Gausspults would be too expensive for an IS military to use. You could get a King Crab for the cost of one AC40 jagermech if you were budgeting for the federated commonwealth or something.
