I can now login and play but during play my ping jumps around, so still not stable.

I also have not had a reply form PlusNet.

Hopefully it will get better......

I've had the same problem. I'm in the UK and PlusNet is my ISP too. A reinstall of the game client temporarily fixed the problem although the issue reoccurred again today.

For some days, I too am suffering from these problems. The ping is jumping around ingame, chat msgs I type won't get displayed, connection lost...
Just am coming from a match where my ping was between 250 and 440ms, averaging 350ms. A normal value would be around 160ms +-30ms without jumping around.

I'm playing from Germany, but my trace route log shows that I'm walking to Canada over Amsterdam and London. So, that is similar to the problems reported here before me.

I would really love to know, is it my ISP or the game servers, according to these logs?

I didn't have this problem yesterday, but yesterday I had a blackscreen one and when that got resolved I got this. I rebooted my router and upgraded its firmware, so that can't be it (or can it be). I guess its just PGI and this is one of the millions of bugs that are infesting this game right now.

While there may be some issues with the servers, the much more likely scenario that some of you with connection problems are facing is that there is an intermediate point in your path to the PGI servers that is causing you difficulty with connection. The recent issues that folks were seeing who have PlusNet as their provider is a prime example of this. Also, in 2 traces posted above by GoldenFleece:

Tracing route to relay-1.mwtactics.com [70.42.29.65]

The latency increase between hop 8 and hop 9 is 130-140 ms. If the hostname resolution is correct then those 2 routers are both in Frankfurt, and there should be no more than a 10 ms variance between those 2 points. They likely have a very congested/overworked router or something along those lines that's causing connectivity issues.

This trace also highlights an issue that can impact most users. All it takes is one router on the path to have issues and every successive hop will see those issues as well.

I think it's to do with your ISP. For some of us in the UK who are on Plusnet you might find you can't log in again...

yes I am having similar Problems months of playing without a major issue, since that last hot fix I get unknown errors, major rubber banding in the game, server connection lost. From what support has said this is a common error at the moment , however I am in Australia . I will be in the middle of a game when my ping goes out and out then the game just hangs and i get the network error. I can hear my teamspeak voices become distorted and laggy just like when the bandwitdth would be minimal its very wierd. Speedtest shows my connection is unchanged, very wierd

Thanks. So, the game servers are not to blame for my problems then... okay. Something I blamed on problems with the new UI too quickly.

I just don't fully understand these ping values reported by tracert. How am I to read these values from my log 1?
That during the test performed by the program, one network congestion was resolving... causing lower ping values for servers farther away?

If any of the UK Plus.net people are still watching this topic I was wondering if anyone else has experienced terrible latency if someone else is browsing the internet at the same time as playing. Mine has been awful for the past month or so, it's now so bad that I have to make sure no one else is using the internet at home else my ping spikes up into the thousands.

For all of you UK guys on Plusnet, try doing this;

http://www.plus.net/...ignatures.shtml

might avoid this situation in the long run

These are the details of the message:

Name of the game: MechWarrior Online

The ports used by the game: TCP 45461
TCP 45464
UDP 21000 to 30000

The IP address of a central sever that is used by the game: 70.42.29.74 and 70.42.29.75

Been on the phone to Plusnet and asked me to complete a wireshark capture and send the file. http://community.plu...r-data-capture/

I was able to play for the past few days but tonight, the problem came back....

I did get a reply from PlusNet, this is what they said

"The error appears to be outside our domain as the trace routes that were completed on the forum show that the loss of connection is passed the first few hops which would be us and fails hitting the game server, it maybe that the game uses a particular port to connect too and if you are having an issue you may need to reconfigure the router to allow this port to allow traffic"

I have also requested that the game be added to the list
