Yet it worked to get 3PV out of 12 mans, it worked for Clan ala carte, it worked for delaying OB, it worked for consumables/ What you point out took months or years so like I said you go for other methods and in a year maybe PGI consider changes.
BTW other methods than dumpster fires were tried on the issues you mentioned and how did that work out?
So please be all reasonable and mature and see where it gets you. I'd say dumpster fires have a better record but don't let that deter you. Much like many issues that crop up with this game, this time it will be different. I mean two of PGI's darlings are behind it so maybe it will. ;)
I wouldn't exactly call it a success for 3PV since it being removed from 12 mans was more of a concession than a victory. Had the forum explosion actually worked they would have split the queues like they said they would instead of the crap they pulled. The clan ala carte was also a mixed bag in regards to a victory since I a lot of people feel the $55 entry fee is absurd, but I suppose it was a victory all be it a crappy one. The only time I would say the thread explosions were effective was with consumables. PGI has always done whatever they wanted promises and players be damned. It just so happens this go around they managed to frustrate players that are more level headed about the problems the game has than what others are. I in general agree with you on the problems, and the desire to fix them I just don't see the point in poking your finger in someone's eye accusing them of hypocrisy when they at least on this topic have moved more to your side of the isle.

Because of this, I'm switching sides.

Now watch as reddit and RSI forums explode about how I'm now taking the PUG side of the argument

They're not on my side of the aisle. Even if they were it's too late. They helped make this community like it is and now they have to lie in the bed they made. Now they want people to get behind their issue after continuously berating people who dared get upset by PGI's changing positions or glacial development.
Previously, certain parties would go in and poke people in the eye and try to drive threads other than official feedback under the rug. Why can't all this wonderful discussion go on in the official feedback thread? Why do special snowflakes need yet another thread about this issue. PGI knows all about and will of course fix any problems and can't we just let this actually go into effect before we all gloom and doommonger? PGI listens, just because it isn't listening to you doesn't mean they don't listen. Sounds different on the other side no?
I am on topic, I am discussing the probability of PGI making any changes based on this type of discussion. I can't help it if people are upset that PGI merely changed their position at the time.

Well, I feel like you two can be blamed for the 84% of solo launches. No one asked you two to organize Marik Mondays! That's obviously what has caused the data to skew so badly. ;)

So why act in a manner you deplore others acting in? What good does it do for you or anyone else?

As for why this thread is allowed to exist outside of the official feedback thread I would assume it is perhaps because this thread was created almost 8 hours before the feedback thread was created, and the mods were too lazy to merge it.

We had nothing to do with that. I blame Stingr4y.

I'm honestly just sitting back and laughing at this point. You guys with your Phoenix Badges. HILARIOUS.

The hypocrisy of so many posters in this thread. It's great.

The best part is, all the crap I've thrown at Russ/Bryan/et'al and they still talk to me.

So I guess it's up to me to say,
"You're welcome"
As it's my "Phoenix Badge" that pays for your freeloading and enjoying the forums.
Have a great day. ;)

Just thought I'd pop into this cesspool to point out that the whole "Clan alacarte" thing was more than likely in the book all along:

1. Release stupidly overpriced stuff
2. Let community go ape-shit
3. Tell community they can now purchase stupidly overpriced stuff in bite sized chunks
4. Now it's even more expensive!
5. Community rejoices at having made their voice herd.
6. Profit!

There is no ???.

Oh I spend money. I just don't buy into these super expensive packages that are obvious money grabs. I give this game what it's earned. It sure as hell hasn't earned $100+ dollars for a bunch of crappy mechs.

I purchased Phoenix under the impression that I'd eventually be able to play weight limited groups of any size with my friends, and I wanted to be able to earn more C-Bills / Loyalty points while doing so. Jokes on me I suppose.

Uh no, I spend a reasonable amount of money.

I do not spend the cost of 2-3 AAA games in one shot for a bunch of crappy mechs, which in addition to being crappy stop existing when this game shuts down.

Sorry, whether you want to accept it, there is a major difference between spending money and spending stupid amounts of money.

You are the guy buying a house before the market collapsed. I'm the guy buying your house on short sale after you go under on your mortgage.

Reasonable is relative to income

Nah brah, you're the guy ordering the burger, fries and a coke separately, when you can afford it, because the combo meal is outside your means.

Given that you've been around since 2011. That is your fault. Sorry.

If you were just starting when the Phoenix stuff started, I understand. it looks great.

But I guess you've got your loyalty points? Right?

Oh...yeah...nevermind.

No, reasonable is not relative to income.

Stupid is stupid. Rich people can spend money on stupid things and become poor people.

I guess you don't follow sports much, or you'd see that constantly.

The thing is, I don't buy things "separately". I spend money on the very simplistic things like mech bays and such. I bought a YLW VERY early on and realized how redicuously dumb that was.

I learn, you guys don't. That's why you are banned from Bryan and Russ' twitter.

I got my mechs because I wanted to play them. I wanted to play most of the Founders-Cat/Phoenix/Saber/Clan mechs and I knew I would get them anyway.
The "savings" (compared to Hero plus other stuff) and the early access was just a Bonus.
Sure, If only buying everything by CBills, would be for free, but even without the MC price for the standard variants, the packs were/are all a good price for what you get.

If you buy packs because you "expected" to do this or that, you either need to wait until its ready, or you are making this up for whatever reason... (not aimed at anyone).

That's just me typing quickly at work, I see you are getting agitated, I enjoy when you start using pet names.

Regardless, in ALL my time...and you know I'm very negative about PGI. I've never even remotely gotten close to being blocked on their twitters, whether it was undone or not.

I figured out what this company was quick. You've been hanging onto this concept that they were looking out for you. They aren't.

I'm sorry, I can tell it hurts.
