focus on last sprint
Lights with 2nd place and first place.
Assaults since Schoppenhauer logged on, he might still grab the second.
Skyer Stralende: Great Effort, catching up on Shadowhawks - if you can get past me, I'll hand it over. (Even if i haven't seen you a single match)
During the entire tournament I would think that Proton is the uncontested king for starting last day and crushing all the tough competition, kudos.
Grats to you winning two competitions.
i made the 7th place on my Griffin.. (5th before i went to bed, somebody really must have lots of great games or big luck
Could you telle me what SHD setup you're using? i'm playing around but can't really get another loadout for my hawk instead of that i'm using in my other mediums.

PGI, you created a tournament that caused people to abandon teamwork in a teamwork-oriented game. It gave incentive to kill-stealing players who would rather watch a teammate die and then snipe the kill than actually step in and do something useful.
Your decision to not give points for component destruction, spotting assists, C-ECM or UAV meant that support-minded players were screwed from the beginning.
Your decision to award full credit for an assist REGARDLESS OF THE QUALITY OF THAT ASSIST means that a player who shoots an enemy in the arm with 1 small laser gets the same number of points as the player who dueled with that enemy for 4 straight minutes, working every piece of armor down to nothing before himself being killed.
Your matchmaking was atrocious. I was regularly put on a team with players who tried to dumbfire LRMs from 50m away and medium lasers from 900m away. I can't count the number of times I dealt 400+ damage and had nobody else on the team reach 200.
In short, you broke the game for this weekend. Not only did you break the game for the weekend, you did it so that you could give out $100 worth of MC split 44 ways.
Next time, if you're going to break your game... don't be so cheap.

Stop whining, dude. Seriously. If anything, this PROMOTED teamwork. If your team didn't win, or at least do well enough to kill the enemies you damaged, you got no assists or win multiplier. There was plenty of communication and strategy, more so than any time outside of the tourney.
Stop being so bitter.

I guess our results varied GREATLY, because I saw an absolute lack of coordination. Full stop. Far less than normal.
EDIT: Then again, I do run almost exclusively as a group, so maybe my view is skewed by the fact that solo-pugging was a requirement of entry.

I noticed your post hit right at the close of the tourney. I would venture that you're miffed and feeling bitter about not being higher on the board, and you're venting. Understandable, but this rhetoric is extremely tiresome.
This tourney is about pure personal combat skill. That is NOT a problem. Not everything has to be about touchy-feely ECM assists or whatever. Sometimes the occasional pure combat skill tournament is just what the doctor ordered. It's all about kills and assisting kills, and racking up the damage. This is FINE. When CW rolls around, and the Matchmaker gets to a stable point, I'm sure they can do more complicated, team-oriented challenges. That just can't happen yet given the state of MM, so cool your jump jets.
If your team doesn't stay alive and kill the guys you wound, you get no assists. Simple. That alone was enough to encourage people to do their best to keep their team alive and ahead. This is the most competitive I have personally seen this game play. Give this dead horse a break.

I hope the tourny reminds those people that thought they could beat 'Evil premade groups' in solo PUG, that even solo... Evil Premades are true killers.
If you want team work.. It really only be seen in 12 man matches over voice comms... But that was kinda destroyed too..

I hope they release a bunch of statistics of how many people played and whatnot.
It would be neat to one day have a pair competition where you compete along side a friend.

Exactly. I almost always run with at least one other guy on comms... and it's almost always the SAME guy. Having a reliable wingman who is a strong player and whose movements you can predict makes the game far more enjoyable.
That said, even if it is a solo-pug tourney... some points for UAV, C-ECM and spotting assists would be fantastic.

This. This is a fantastic idea. Can we do this, PGI? Please?

Don't forget yourself. Winning two ladders is something to salute! Also your rise in the heavy category was quite phenomenal
Had very good time during the tournament. Experienced some frustration alot, but still fun! Special cheers to Doyle who came past me in the heavy ladder during the last hour! GGs, had fun dropping with you and against you. I had a very good last game, but either it didn't reg anymore (it was 23:58 PST when exited match) or it just wasn't enough. Overall fun experience!

I had a lot of fun this weekend, and enjoyed the faster paced games made possible by the medium heavy drops.

If you run with said same guy all the time you ought to be on similar elos via win/loss and should be capable of dropping together (or against) even in a solo cue.
Finished 58th in lights (3 mpl spider 5d, friday only due to streak spam), 52nd in assaults (4 lpl battlemaster, maybe 15 total drops fooling around between Shady drops gone wrong), and 10th in Shadow Hawk (2 ac2, uac5. Abandoned contest at 8pm to go see the GF) Been sweating the last six hours out from her place hoping I'd stay on the board
Very happy overall. Much props to the winners, towards the end I was having 8-900 damage games that wouldnt move the numbers at all. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to squeak out another 2-300 points. Regular perfection, you guys rock.
