In terms of layout, Orion, Cyclops, and Atlas are similar in that the gun is in the torso with lasers in the arms.

Zeus and Highlander are similar in that the big guns are in the arms with missiles.

You could easily make a more armed version of the BNC-3Q with any of the ballistic variants (an AC/20 Banshee). Which I assume people will do, at least with the prime variant, since its loadout is weakest. My guess is 2-3 ML, AC/20 will be the common one for the BNC-3E.

Technically the Atlas is an Orion clone.

From what I understand - in the lore - the success of the Orion led to the bigger/badder Atlas.

I haven't been paying attention lately, but did they drop the timeline? BNC-5S is 3053. I wouldn't care if they added that, just figure PGI is all 'timeline is the bees knees yo.'

If not, I would assume BNC-3E, 3M, and 3S to be more likely.

A 95 tonner is cool ,we needed that slot filled anyways. :-) I was too hoping for the king crab but maybe next time,lol maybe time after next(mauler).4 ac2s are cool but all in one location will be a neuter fest for that torso .I'll be getting them I guess with cbills unless the hero is sweet.:-) looking forward to seeing them soon hope.

They might have retconned it, previous technical readout 3050 editions said that it was an evolution of the BNC-3S that was pushed out just in time for the Clan invasion.

Maybe so, but like you say the 5S is just a direct upgrade. It would have the same hardpoints as the 3S anyway

5S isn't a direct upgrade, its a completely new factory produced 'Mech. It has an XL engine with a higher engine rating.

Yes, but sometimes they release a 'mech with pre-upgraded technologies like the AS7-K off the top of my head. The BNC-3S is a slow assault and the engine cap might not let you put the 380XL required for the 5S.
