I just hope you can change the base camo colour... whilst I LOVE my Firestarter Ember, I'm infuriated that I can't change the base blue colour!

Is it too harsh to say that it kinda looks like the Awesome's "Butter-face" older sister? :(

I mean that in the best possible way, really. Glad the 'shee's finally going to be in to fill that 95 tonner slot. The imgur pic floating around shows one with 3B in the torso. Triple-AC5 dakkalord? ;)

Of course we have to wait for the standards to be out, any word? After the Wolverine I would guess.

Balance, not that it is ever a good idea in this game.

That would be a good answer, but it's not why.

I absolutely garauntee the reason is: Because the artist in question felt it looked best that way. Notice how many mechs have their energy weapons underslung? Occasionally some mechs have weapons pods on the outside of the arm (ex: Griffon, Wolverine, HGN) but most undersling them. It's an artistic design principle they're sticking with.

While a lot of mech design absolutely impacts balance, I strongly doubt anyone considered balance when building the mech models.

Look again. It's 4B. 2UAC5 2AC2 for crazydakka love!

the guns are low set because originally this hero had 3 jjs. PGI removed them because they are afraid of the P2W cries. kinda sad really. like the oxide, an almost great mech was scarified on the alter because PGI is afraid of thier own community

See, I actually loooove the paintjob (Latin American studies major), but I don't like big mechs.

I wish I could put that pattern on one of my mediums. I love me some sexy Mesoamerican-inspired design.

Put that energy hardpoint in the mouth and you'd have a 'Mech on which I'd willingly mount a flamer.

I will need to be able to map that flamer to my ' talk ' key. This is very serious matter.

edit: The art direction on some of the new 'Mechs is kinda. . . Okay, let me just ask. What's with the hands?

I like the ugly. Ugly mechs make me happy.

The pattern... meh. I'm really not fond of the pattern. And the hardpoints seem... Lackluster. A single missile hardpoint is hard to make effective use of. A single ballistic hardpoint isn't bad, but multiple hardpoints give you so many more options. Twin AC5's vs. AC10, for example.

Thats why it dons't have 2 Ballistic. So meta sheep cant over pay for an AC10.

Just use an AC20 anyways in that torso....its what there made for.

The mech is going to be evil in the right hands. As some of the other variants will be as well......quite evil. Some pics have shown that one variant has 4 ballistics in the torso........I am thinking 4 AC2, yes very evil indeed.

Holy shit-snacks that thing looks just horribly hodgepodge. I can literally see parts of all the last 5 mechs thrown together and stretched to fit the size requirement.

Any of you who decide to keep the 380xl be warned: I'm going to find you in my ember, and I will räpe your rear armor ;-)

That's working as intended, unfortunately.

Considering it would probably have greater mobility than the Highlander, but still less than the Victor... sure.

However, that still doesn't explain how limited the builds would be despite that fact.

I wonder how well this will sell? To be honest, aside from the fugliness, this mech seems seriously underwhelming. Not quite Pretty Baby bad, but close.

I've bought all the Heros so far, but I have no interest in this "thing". It'll be interesting to see how quickly it goes on sale.

When compared to the c-bill variants, this hero is definitely pay to lose.

Compared to the c-bill variant of nearly every assault mech in the game.

Why it has 6 fingers in the hand? The concept art doesn't...

I loved the concept art (static image for the video), but it didn't translate very well to the game. Even so, I'm very happy that this important mech is finally in a Mechwarrior game. (BTW, the E3 variants looks very powerful)

And the hero mech? Could be a little better. One less hardpoint than the standard variants is enough, but it looks like "La Malinche" has 2 or 3 hardpoints short.

I keep thinking the Atlas-K is the same mech.

In fact, the Atlas-K is slightly better.

They have the same weapon hardpoints, but the Atlas has both torso energy in the CT where it can be used as a zombie, or even as a large laser. The Spanish Banshee only has 1 laser, in the head, while the other gets lost when the AC-20 invariably gets shot off.

The Atlas-K has dual AMS as well.

I think the speed of the Banshee will NOT be a selling point. That was always it's main problem in fact.

Well, that makes more sense why it has a Spanish name.

I think this is the first and most rare defense of the Atlas-K.

Nice try.

Yes, that's why the 400XL Boar's Head and and Battlemaster dominate the field...

Oh wait... they don't.

It looks like they used the arms for the Shadowhawk and resized it.
