BNC-3M
I know you can get an extra heatsink in there if you move the weapons about a bit, but i like having both ER LLs on the same side, high mounted due to the PPC. really like this a lot more than i thought i would tbh. snipes well, alphas hard.
BNC-3E
Pretty standard 3E really, before the BNCs came out my best mech was a 3AC5/3ML Jager - to people who say its overpaying for a gauss... 3x ROF. ability to dakka every 0.5s (chainfire) for screenshake spam. no stupid ass charge up mechanic. imo thats worth the tons if you have em.
also run this sometimes.. its nice but it runs a bit too hot for a dakka mech (at least for my preferences)
BNC-3E
i really cant get the 3S to work for me at all, every variation ive tried ive hated. probably going to end up selling the chassis (yes, i have mastered it, still cant get on with it)

So far the 4AC2 buld is my go to for Cbills, damage, kills, and last but not least FUN!

About to buy the 3M and 3S. Lots of possibilities for each, but none that are as appealing as that 3E build. I'm tempted to try a Charger (8 ML, Standard 400) on the 3M. Or a modified version with an AC/20 and 7 ML but only a Standard 340 on the 3S.

might swap the ERLLs for LLs for better heat, but i quite like the range.. the Tag is just there for free money, its in all of my firing groups, and a seperate one with a g15 toggle, and gets me random TAG/NARC bonuses all the time lol.

Yes! Only three weapons! I'm not a fan of these overloaded builds. I wanted a fast assault mech, taking DMG as much as possible without using an XL engine. Nothing special, but this build is fast, astonishing agile on masterlevel and it can fight at close to long range with a good heat efficiency. Equipped with BAP, AMS and max. ferro armor. It's a well balanced and fair configuration. I wouldn't expect it, but It works suprisingly successful and it's fun as heck.
The only disadvantage: Sometimes the U.AC-5 jamms in the wrong moment. No risk no fun!

Made it less of a brawler and more of a general assault 'Mech, 2 PPC's and a gauss for FLD, and an LRM-15 for annoyance/limited indirect support, and 2 medium lasers for point defense/zombie ability.

If you fill up the torso with the Gauss, you will lower the chance of it being crit.

Same as mine except that I carry 6 tons of AC/5 ammo and reduce armor to 512. I regularly use most or all of the ammo, so at least for me the tradeoff is necessary.
Ran out last night while playing with friends and said something about it on TeamSpeak, to which the response was "this is going to be an interesting post-game report." The implication was correct - I had just over 1150 damage in that match.

A few LRMs + tag, combined with pinpoint damage of AC10 + 2 PPC, and 2 medium lasers for close range dps. I took a xl340 engine out of a cicada for testing. Every bit of speed is important with these clumsy assaults. I still prefer the 4 ac2 build of the e. Its not as hot as some people keep saying. BNC-3E

Have ran this one nicely as of late.
I put the AC2's on groups 1 and 2, with the AC10 on group 1. The ML are on Group 3, when things are far out I use just group 2, and when things are closer I use group 1 and 3. Those AC2's give a good pecking on things, and not many people notice that AC10 hidden behind all that dakka. If you want a bigger eng you can swap out the 10 for a 5 which makes for a good mix of dakka all at long or short range.

overpaying in tonnage for a Guass with not that much of a pickup in DPS vs AC2's. This is why the "meta" mechs are so terrible and is why I did not include it in the list. Its stupid and ******** and gets outclassed hardcore by the UAC/AC2 builds.
I've broken 1400 damage and gotten 8 kills on the Meta Build for the 3E. There is a reason why everyone runs 3 AC/5 and 2 PPC's.
1 Gauss = 15 tons / 15 damage 4 sec refire and .75 charge up, so 4.75 secs between shots
1 AC/5 = 8 tons / 5 damage 1.5 sec refire
3 AC/5 = 24 tons for 10 DPS (15 damage / 1.5 sec)
1 Gauss = 15 tons for 3.16 DPS (15 damage / 4.75 sec)
For 160% of the tonnage cost of a Gauss rifle, you lose the recharge, and get more than 300% the DPS using 3 AC/5's.
When you pair an AC/5 velocity 1300 with a PPC velocity 1500, you get almost perfect convergence if you are firing at 500M to 600M.

much better version of the same thing. i cant believe you guys use a 56 kph mech T_T. shame on you swucks
also, a single ac5 has the same dps as a single gauss rifle. and this mech has 3 of them. its almost the same as having 3 gauss rifles. it has the same dps as a triple gauss+ double ppc, mech. obviously not with a 65 point alpha, but its damnnnnnnn close. make no mistake, the ac5 is probably the best weapon in the game atm.

You give up using your arms as shields for 4 extra KPH. Its a bad trade off.

I can do that crap too.
1 AC5 is 3.33 DPS for 8 tons
1 AC2 is 3.85 DPS for 6 tons
2 AC5 is 6.66 DPS for 16 tons
2 AC2 is 7.70 DPS for 12 tons
3 AC5 is 9.99 DPS for 24 tons
3 AC2 is 11.53 DPS for 18 tons
4 AC5....can't be done on any assault mech
4 AC2 is 15.36 DPS for 24 tons BNC-3E
But what about Ghost heat? What ghost heat? The AC2 is a 1 heat weapon, "ghost heat" doesn't start affecting the weapon until you have 7 of them, and by then your worrying more about how to keep ammo on the mech, more then the heat.
As such the Banshee can actually XL pretty well for an assault mech, its not entirely optimal, but it can do it.
