too bad the sun doesn't come up for 6 months up there :)

That would be above the Arctic Circle - almost 400 miles away. ;)

Edit: you could fit most states between me and that point! B)
(though some of them you might need to turn at interesting angles - such as Texas)

Some LRM are an Atlas's best friend at times - but those builds.... I have no clue why they are so popular lately :)

>my thunderbolt and 3 light mechs are the only mechs left alive on our team
>enemy heavy/assault lance is about to attack theta, they are not badly damaged
>we can only win via points and im capping theta
>the 3 lights on my team refuse to help me cap, they say only the badly damaged mechs should cap
>instead, they spend over a minute running around in circles 200-300 meters away from theta
>not trying to cap the enemy points, just running in circles
>enemy lance shows up at theta, kills me
>if the 3 lights had helped me to cap theta, it would have been fully capped by the time the enemy lance showed up and we would have been on our way to cap other points

Sometimes i think people are deliberately trying to make our team lose...

last night in a match with my max speed 48kph LRM stalker in River City. Tryng to keep up with the group who are all going 75+kph.

Enemy is flanking and coming up our rear with me all alone. Ask for help.. none comes. I die. Vent to my team mates about lack of support and I am informed of the following.... *drum roll*

I apparently was going solo and it was all my fault!

So the new Meta is if you are in a slow mech and can't keep up you are "going solo" and need to fend for yourself.

To be honest I think the Shortbus tour group was on the map at that time.

Been seeing this a fair amount recently. I've called people on it a couple of times and the responses have been astounding. Some people really would rather lose by doing nothing than win by doing something different.

I realized today that since I never see a Pomp-Snart I'm definitely not in the high ELO range, and decided that whatever my bracket is, it seems to be entirely defined by Machine Guns, LRMs, and an apparently inherent need to go it alone, no matter the cost.

I think I'll name my bracket. Rambo. It's the Rambo Bracket.

*Edited because "Pomp-Snart" has a fancier ring to it...

>attacking theta on HPG manifold
>charge in with several friendly mechs
>expect rest of team to follow
>they dont
>we all die and i spectate
>rest of team are camping outside

Really expected them not to make a newbie mistake like this when we had a 4 man of competitive players. The next time i see a 4 man of competitive players i will just assume they are noobs and not expect them to know basic gameplay.

>shadowhawk chasing me on frozen city
>managed to make it to my team
>5 mechs in a line just 50 meters away
>tell them to turn around and help
>they refuse to turn around or acknowledge the text in any way
>they just stand there facing in the opposite direction
>enemy jagermech shows up to help the shadowhawk
>i die
>the 5 friendly mechs just 50m away only turn around when they start getting shot

Sigh...

Alpine peaks
Lance starts walking forward
Norton opens a window over the top of the MWO client and my Mech stops
Click on the Norton screen to make it dissappear
Click on client to get back into game
Mech launches and alpha strike when i click back in
Team-kills a friendly Jagermech who walked ahead of me

Epic Fail....

apparently in evey other match i played yesterday i was part of the "worst team of fkn noobs ever". must be a hotly contested title for it to be passed among so many teams so quickly. granted there were a lot of stomps where barely half the team broke 100 (granted my locust 1V contributed to that total in several of the cases but what was the victors and jagers excuses?) more than half the time including the declarer of our horribleness- maybe they're just so good at being bad they can pick out bad teams quicker than the rest of us. also that despite knowing how horrible we were that same person couldn;t be bothering offering up their genius tactical plan to lead us to victory.

the ones who actually contribute i'll give a pass to and wonder if the carry harder thread will get a new post soon.

also got called an idiot while trying to stall on canyon in an Arrow when i got caught between gamma and epsi with LRM boats on both sides of me and lights at epsi to chase me down. tried going to epsi to avoid the lrms and ran into the atlas that was also with the lights. i'm not going to outrun the lights spotting for the lrms not to mention the lights so i stay and fight and die. alas my critic failed to offer up his ultimate solution for escaping said situation.

and another on alpine where we start out on gamma's side and i type in that i guess we take and hold the h10 hills (as per usual on this map lately). someone else says "how about not." and offers no alternative. so half the team goes to h10 other half derps around somewhere below while the enemy team mass rushes the hilltop and we die, then they follow for a 12-2ish loss.

lol

I have a problem with my mouse randomly firing shots during games sometimes.......usually only starts doing that after 6 or 7 matches...but i try to make sure I'm NEVER aimed at a friendly...

but your example...well that just sucks..lol
