During the rest of the week, I'm in a much more reasonable bracket.

The awful group queue. My friends and I kept getting forced into matches vs huge premades. The reason I don't do 12 mans is I utterly LOATHE the current meta and the spamming of arty and airstrikes.
Just got out of a game where a Steiner premade did nothing but spam arty/airstrikes. they didn't even attempt to actually play. All they did was spam cbill consumables. Disgusting play.
I've avoided this on purpose because I don't find it fun and I hate it. Now, everytime I group up I'm FORCED into it.
Thanks very much.
WHY have you done this? We can't relax and chill out anymore having a laugh, as everytime we get forced into a match like that-it's 110% tournament mode head on or get rolled.

I thought that the 5+ group option was going to be a good thing. I was unreservedly, utterly and unabashedly wrong. 5+ should be limited to ONLY other 5+ groups. Not blended in with casual 2-4 man lances like it is now. So you wait longer... it's still probably faster than when it was 12man only and took 2-3 tries to get a match. Can't find 3 or 2 players to fill in the gap, make em drop short. I just don't care. With the Clan Mechs, it shouldn't matter anyway.
Now what are we left with? It's "PUG only"... thank you no, it's unbearable enough in tournaments... which defeats the purpose of team play and joining a unit, or play against 7+ man e-sportos who annihilate anyone not running meta high end gamestyle or equipment.
This was a catastrophic error.
And it doesn't even cover what a joke other aspects of the game have become. Buffed AMS+ECM+RaDerp Module.... really?
So much for playing to have fun.

You have my sympathies - at least I had running water in the room. (Also - I was not self employed, though I have worked with enough small enough of businesses that you both have my sympathies there as well)
Though you probably had access to a hose... depending on whether you were cleaning them at the site or not

I do feel your pain I can't really play much now as when I do my daughter wants to drop paired with me, and that causes to great a frustration.
casual play for paired people is dead now, its solo pugging which I have to say is where I spend most my time until about a month ago, or go meta esport mode.
have to say i've not uninstalled yet but its getting hard to justify wasted space on my hard drive

PGI, please don't cramp my style.

I wonder how happy you'd be if you got a string of 30 or so losses, and your normal scores of 300-700 with a minimum of 2 kills a game dropped to zero kills and under 100 points and then be told by people that are in an 9 man premade rack up several members with over 800 damage and at least 2 kills each that 'this is how it's supposed to be'?
It's a common trait for people to have enlightened self interest in which to back their positions. Lately, I've seen the growth of what I politely call 'unenlightened' self interest, or more precisely a conflict of interest. Something that is bad for the greater whole of the game is good only because they are adept at abusing the flaws in the game. It is the basis for the meta and every jerk you run across in online games. It drives away new players who have not learned how fun the game can be when some doorknob is not roflstomping them into the ground then going 'GG' at the end to rub their nose in it that they're either new or suck compared to a guy with 3000 drops or more.
So yes, the group queue is working as intended... and it leaves this game with disasterous consequences which has now become a signature of PGI for it has cut the legs out of casual players who do not want to deal with e-sportos and want to play with a few of their friends. Cathy points out that she can't even play with her daughter without risking this. We have fathers, sons, mothers and daughters in my unit who now can't enjoy the game because of this same issue that did not exist before yesterday. Unintended consequences have struck again.
What REALLY worries me now is... this is what CW is going to look like for everyone and will be the destruction of a game that needs, desperately PvE and an easy mode.
That's my latest whine at least.

How am I supposed to reply to the above?
Not family oriented? Too difficult? Too competitive? What?
Try the YMCA they have some great programs.
This has never been a simple, casual game that you pick up in an afternoon. It's not a true simulator but it sure isn't a twitch shooter either.
Now we need an easy mode...really?

And yes Gorgo... an easy PvE mode (easy by comparison to the E-sporto thugs crowd) would be a great thing to help out new players and those who don't feel like being challenged every single time. This game was originally meant to be more of a strategic simulator with FPS flavors, not an FPS shooter like it has become.
It very well could be this game is no longer for me for the same reasons I don't play every other FPS game on the market that doesn't have a PvE and story mode. Apparently, I was lied to that this game would be different somehow.

Maybe you need a break for a week or so.
I've been in a rut in the past and a break did wonders for my playing and enjoyment of the game. Those I played with were happy to see me as well and that felt nice.
Maybe an hiatus?
Good luck!

If I knew, I wouldn't have asked. I don't even think an inflated Elo could cause such a string of bad luck.

I've posted it before, I will post it again.
(and I would count the random players you drop with as a portion of that RNG)
Having said that - I can see how frustrated Kjudoon seems to be, I have not hit a 30, but hitting a 15 string (of bad losses) was frustrating enough

Player Vs Environment
A game where you are not working against other players.
Such as the raids or general questing in WoW
The story mode in Pokemon (though that tries to simulate PvP some)

World of Warcraft.
Let me put it this way - any single player game is PVE.
Some multi-player games are PVE. (WH40K Kill Team for example)
Most multi-player games are PVP.
Some are a combination (HOARD for example)
Some single player games simulate PVP (arcade mode in fighting games for example)
Edit: Clarification
PVP = Player against (versus) Player
PVE = Any game where you are not working against another player.
(roughly)

I know it's statistically possible. If you figure an average of 7 minutes a drop, that's 3 straight hours of losing. Who the hell beats their head against a wall for 3 straight hours. At some point before that I'd have to take a break and bandage my head.

Stubborn people - trust me.

Statistically possible, but also statistically improbable.
You sit there losing, and a large part of your head keeps saying - this cannot keep up, it has to turn around at some point!

Part of the back of your head tells you that if you quit now, you will regret it.
Either because your luck is about to turn around, or because you do not want to end it on that negative note.
...now that I think about it, it is the same mentality that keeps Vegas in business.

Edit: spelling
