WTF.....

Had a guy try to convince us to flank through their base (they started on the mountain) in Alpine yesterday.

He climbed the hill (alone)

its even worse when bad players try to lead the team with the standard tactic but dont have the skill or will to do whats necessary, i.e. rushing the hill on alpine instead of going halfway, then stop and get massacred while beeing spot from behind.

The Victor I got from last weekend is half decent. Now I'm the kind of person who has to have a complete set so this meant that I had to master the B and K variants as well. On the Champion and B variants I managed to have a K/D slightly over 1. The K is impossible. I lost 12 games in a row. In the end I gave up after finishing the Tier 2 efficencies and used GXP to buy the master slot.

It's a bad mech, the devs should feel bad for designing it, anyone out there using it should feel bad and I feel bad for having to "cheat" to master it :(

My usual Sunday whine...it's Sunday, and there's enough incentive for me to play atm(extra XP plus I had some premium going), so I wade into the shitstorm that is Sunday-NoFunday on MWO.

I'll allow that I'm probably not at my best on Sundays either, but when i see nearly no names I recognize from my normal ELOs, and people are just flat-out being dumb, like following your ECM LCT around in their heavy and/or assault, while you're trying to scout, and wondering why they died.....yeah, it's Sunday.

If I can just get to a certain CBill amount I was aiming for, i can take a break til the better players are back tomorrow...get some Skyrim and movies in...

EDIT: I dug out some vodka I didn't know I had...my Sunday got a lot better. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em...(I've learned that many, many players I've thought were just idiots on Sundays are actually drunk..)

EDITEDIT: 2nd whine for today, just as I'm about to get my newest HGN set up, the last one i need to be able to elite them, and am about to swap over from my PB to that, and I start getting kills in the LCT, go figure lol. Not really complaining, just funny how that works. I'm terribad at lights btw, so this is really something, when I can get 2 kills in one match with a LCT-PB lol.

I get a knock on the door, have to go afk in mid match, to sign for and put my athritus meds in fridge, forget to hand over the old sharps bin, so have to go out in street call for the delivery guy and walk over the road to hand it to him, I still get back in the match.

Third highest damage score, highest match score in my team, and all this in a mist linx

some teams just scream noob...

You have my sympathy cathy. And this is why people who get their knickers in a twist over hiders and afk stuff need to knock it off. Life happens people.

generally the ones that get me are the hiders or fake afkers who let the rest of the team fight 11 on 12 in the hopes that by the time he's the last one left he can go rambo in his untouched assault (since 90% of the time it's an assault doing this) and finish off everything the rest of the team has heavily damaged to boost his kdr. and if anyone says anything about it he's all "hey i got 4 kills noob"

oddly i find most of "his" team starts rooting for the other side when they realize this is what's happened.

yeah, I'm not a fan of 'vultures' either. It's a valid tactic, but not what you'd call 'socially acceptable'. Nothing says trust your teammate while they hang you out to dry just so they can get some easy kills with their Dire Cheese after you beat up the enemy.

slow day at work (i work from home) so i jump in the new atlas to get a few more xp,and the phone rings. hit the cancel button but it connects anyway. so my slow atlas just slowly walks out till it hits a ridge in frozen city were it get killed before i can get off the phone. :(

i also want to take this time to apologize in advance to any team i am on when this happens. winter is my slow time and once paperwork is done i play a bit but when the phone rings i will be afk. normal business hours cst.

honestly, you don't owe anyone an apology for life but the courtesy is appreciated for what it is. :)

i'm fine with some forms of it- the medium who's hitting and running lurking around the edges before wading in at the end when their lesser firepower/armor isn't as big a disadvantage than at the start, the ER LL light sniping away hoping for the best at the end. the lower end heavy that can;t go toe to toe with a fresh heavy/assault til they've been whittled down some. that sort of thing.

but bad enough people complain about timid assaults but at least you know, they're with the rest of the team more or less, it's the guys intentionally keeping their firepower out of the fight until it's "safe" for them to come get kills that annoy me. i mean if they were at the front and taking/dishing out damage the team might have won the match. but that would require possibly missing a kill or two at the end you know so we can;t have that.

It was two smart alecs in chat that fuels today's whine.
Two types of people in this game that REALLY wind me up.
#1 The put up and shut up guy.
"Stop whining, it's pugs deal with it" Sure I get that, but if you never say anything to anyone they will never either learn/and/or change their behaviour. Also mr put up and shut up, bottling stuff up is a sure fire way to a very dark time in your life. You are not being more noble, you are not turning the other cheek-you are encouraging people to carry on doing the bad things they are doing.
Just think where the human race would be i we followed your advice?

#2 The "can't take negativity" guy.
Sorry chap, if you are camping and cowering and actively spoiling the team's chances you WILL get called on it. I watched 5 mechs run from 5 mechs earlier, this allowed the enemy to sandwich us and simply murder us.I fought tooth and nail but died due to being numerically overwhelmed. My teammates? Funneled into a canyon all timidly hiding.
When someone points out what you did, and what it potentially caused-have the grace to think "yeah maybe he has a point."
Because if you are constantly getting comments thrown at you-maybe, just maybe they have a point?
As long as they are not swearing or threatening you-take it on the chin.
Because wether you like it or not, you DO have a responsibility to the other 11 people you drop with.

Criticism, even negative is a vital part of learning. And, if you don't care about what you do....why even bother doing it in the first place?

/hyper rant over

it is a fine line between being up front and waiting for the opportunity to arrive or being an overly timid assault, lately with with the as7s i find myself on some of the bigger maps kind of waiting in the rear while the long range stuff happens. 3 srm4 4ml and an ac20 will force that on you. i do carry a lrm10 for moral support ;) i really need to see the whites of their eyes with this thing but when it gets close and heavy i get my share.

now that direwolf with 4erll hiding in back needs to get out there

I've been noticing a lot of AS7-S LRM boats lately. What a waste. All that armor and pinpoint fire potential being wasted in the rear with spread damage that is easily avoided - guys, there are many mechs that are far better suited to being LRM boats than an atlas....man up and get in the fight. its like they think that if they get the pretty paint job scratched, it will never come back

On the verge of quitting, I am seriously starting to think that the frustration is not worth it. I'm by no means an ace pilot but I think I carry my own weight most of the time and on a good day more than that.

Still nothing but losses. If it's the ELO or something else I do not know.

Everyone has strings of losses

Sometimes, I simply have to rest assured that I did everything in my power to drive the team to victory, but it just wasn't enough to overcome mistakes

and sometimes, I know that no matter how well I played, we were going to lose simply because the other team was better in every way

remember the match maker is setup so you will have a 1 to 1 win lose ratio. any time i start winning i brace myself for the ROFL stomps to come.

Been spectating, some people don't seem to be able to even steer their mech in the desired direction. I mess up too, especially when a light circles me, then after a while I sometimes have my feet in the wrong direction but these people can't even steer in non combat situations, what gives?
