well CW by it very nature is highly competitive. so if you find yourself always on the losing side of superior tactics ie cheese, meta or just a better played team, it maybe time to rethink your tactics. there is winning and losing. winning takes what it takes, losing, well figure out how you lost and fix it.

Not sure if I want to stay Davion and keep working up their rewards ladder - or move over closer to Clan space. :unsure:


I've noticed I'm given options to defend Steiner planets from the Clans during invasion periods. I hope they expand on that, since I really want more "Fed-Com" feeling in this whole thing.

Now that people are going int CW...

The PUG QUEUE IS UTTER CRAP! Every match, joy-firing at the start until they our out of ammo, others trying to start their mechs by pulling their joysticks over and over and mechs walking backwards into battle.

what the hell?

If ammo wasn't a concern, I'd kill my whole team and take on the enemy solo -- the results would probably be superior because I think some players on my team are firing 'healing' shots against the enemy.

For the MODS:
This comment was expressed as tongue-in-cheek and in no way represents actually advocating a TOS violation vis-a-vi team killing. Team killing is bad and should never be attempted except by the expressed written consent of PGI authorized staff.

FFS I just had and entire assault lance try to cap a point we already owned, at drop.

WHY do people have to keep complaining about things (semi-understandable) and defending it with stupid phrases like "if it were perfect we would not complain!" (W.T.F. JACKASSES?!)

It is the MORONIC defenses of their complaining and the MORONIC complaints. <_<

IE: people expecting perfection (see the above MORON's defense) from an actively labeled BETA product.

Holy smokes.

Three CW drops. Three completely tossed together PUGs vs 8-11 man groups with a few solo tossed in. Three times stomped harder than Luke Skywalker in a "Points for Not Kissing Your Own Sister" competition...

Since I'm the one solo queueing in CW, I can't complain too much really, other than, why can't I be the 1-4 solo members of a premade sometimes? ;)

At least getting the qualifying points isn't too hard. If this weekend challenge beats me, it will be the queue/match times, rather than the qualifying points target, that does it. :mellow:

All in all though, CW is still fun. Can't wait to see what happens next.

~200 points (out of 80!) from my first CW match.

Only times I did not I got blown to bits by the enemy before being able to fire much (Clan mech Zerg Rush) or there was nothing there to earn points on. (Counter attack... with nothing to counter)

Edit: even a mediocre average mech score (~30-50) will get you the requirement simply because you get 4 tries each match.

.... now if only it were easier to find them. :P / :( / :rolleyes:

Losing planets in CW due to a lack of defenders...ie attackers wait in que for five minutes and then earn a win when a defender team fails to materialize. We have lost a couple of planets due to too many Federated Suns players and Marik players and not enough Liao players.

Ouch.

So THAT is the meta fedcom is using to take planets even when it looks like they've been successfully defended. Get on when no one is playing and claim the forfeit???. I cry foul on that pgi. I don't think forfeiture due to waiting is fair to anyone if that is what is happening. Like sniping on auctions. Dirty pool, old man.

just been in a random pug-team vs a random pug-clan team, attacking boreal vault.
the main problem i seen is not anything on the map or weapons or whatever.

the main problem are the damn bad and awful players. as sad as it is.
they dont know what to do, they dont know how to play, they dont know how load their mechs properly for this type of battle.
they have no damn idea about anything.
they cant even aim or get 600 damage with 4 mechs.

THAT is the real problem. just jump in and full derp around, then cry like a ***** beeing shredded.
i am not surprised that the Units got 11 attacker wins just to lose it to god awful random idiots having no clue.

Really not that impressed with CW i know it's beta but still.

Queues either take two minutes or take forever then another 5 minutes for the other side then another minute plus after the splash screen assuming a player can't connect which usually seems to be the case then 30 minutes for a game so a single match lasts anywhere on average for me from 40-45 minutes at a good time which is just far too long for those of us that have wifes and other things to do compounded if you loose! Hit reg is broken to hell especially with lasers, attacking is bloody difficult nigh on impossible when the defenders are twelve clan mechs let alone premades. FPS is about 50 - 60% of the public queue ( i actually have to drop my comp down to medium settings for CW whereas in public queue it can run smoothly enough on very high). Cannot go into settings and save any changes via the esc key as it freezes the game. If your not boating PPC's and Gauss rifles go home.
Cannot seem to alt-tab from and too the game without it freezing. Dropships or turrets seem to aim for headshots everytime. Artillery seems more powerful in CW (not certain though). Last but not least the heatscale appears to be broken as my mechs seem to overheat much faster in CW than they do in public queues (again not checked).

Sulferous rift is also rather hard to defend against clan mechs as once they make a rush through the side gates it doesn't take at all long before they're behind the gun. Its very tricky to bolster two flanks with four mechs aside yet have the mobility to fall back once the attack direction is established. The gun needs to be further back at least and guarded by a wall itself.

Rant over.... I really do like the extra depth really particularly liking that the federated suns have taken Terra last time i checked and the real time map.

Yep, we hold Terra. I'm trying to get attackers to help me take Saint Ives from the Capellans, but it's too late, and I don't have the time to requisition my unitmates (HHoD) engage there, when we already have other places to attack.

I enjoy the CW maps, however, I can definitely see the problems with the cover being almost non-existent, allowing long range set ups to dominate. Which lends a big advantage to clan mechs. They excel at range.

I also think that it's alright for now. Since we need the clans to actually start advancing. My problem is with the fact that a simple 4 locusts + ECM. Can possibly kill a cannon before anyone even notices. (Sometimes).
