I'll be standing there, near our assaults, fighting the main force...then suddenly, I'm alone as the assaults all go off to chase the one wounded medium at the right flank...I drop against 7 mechs, then they go on to slaughter the assaults, who are still trying to catch the medium, but failing

Glad I could be a part of giving you a solid win today...I only wish it could have been for a team I was on.
As for my whine, well...I am just off today. Just off. In the match I saw Bullet in, as one classic example from today. Running around a bend in Canyon Network, so focused on the mechs on top of the ridge to my right that I was attempting to launch a UAV on top of that I failed completely to notice the mess of heavies/assaults on the canyon floor that I blundered right in to the middle of until it was far too late to do anything but try and run through, of course dying, gloriously and ultimately harmlessly at the feet of what I believe might have been Bulletsponge0's Man O'War.
If only they could reinstate the cadet bonus for days like this to reflect the skill level 'm playing at. I think the only real threat I offered in that match might have been to Bullet's paint-job.
Locusts man.
To quote Ioopala from the top of this page..."Some days the windshield some days the bug..."
All I can say about today is...Bug Life!

See, the Haiku duels back and forth actually became fun, and sporting. Every now and then, someone will brag or try to create an actually offensive attack, and that just ruins it.
Yeah, the haiku duel is kind of fun actually, with the Kuritan players giving as good or better as they're getting. And I prefer that by far to the alternative format that so many gamers turn to of "lrn2playNubritans! lawl!", or something along those lines.
A bit of spirited faction-based verbal jousting on the forums in good fun is an entertaining side-game to CW. And I saw a lot of really creative attempts to weave lore into so many of those haikus. Much respect to alot of the authors in that thread.
I do have to agree though, that any mean-spirited attempts I've seen at gloating have been pretty distasteful.
It kind of reminds me of years ago on the original Battletech forums, a Kuritan player with the handle Niko Bijin and myself (Rip Snorgan has been my BT handle in every BT based forum or game since I first got into it) engaged in a friendly, factional, flame war, with the form of limerick as the chosen dueling method.
Truth be told I can't even remember my own initial salvo, since his response was so good, and so thoroughly and decisively final, there was no way I could counter it, and I had to concede defeat. He wrote...
"There once was a Davion bard,
who with limerick hoist his petard,
but when came time to fight,
he'd run off in the night,
to cavort in the animal yard."
Seriously. How do you follow that up? Can't even remember my own, but I've got that one memorized until I die...hehe.

that reminds me of the Huginn battles alot... i run out, flanking wide.
dire wolf, king crab and somethign else followed me.....
why the hell.....
Meat for the crow, usually they get focused and you can get in some hurting SRM4 volleys to the back... which the rest of the team fails to capitalize on

Oh nevermind that business, HAPPY X-MAS ALL!
This thread, and you people in it, do a splendid job of increasing my enjoyment of this game, even when the experience is less enjoyable than usual. So, thanks for that!

my whine is.... why cant there be more mistakes like yesterday :S
dropped in cw... picked the bj-1x with 2 large pulse laser and 4 med lasers instead of the bj-3 with the dual PPC and we had a defend on boreal vault T_T
i already thought about ejecting....... because of limited range of the large pulses....
AND THANK SANTA I DIDNT!
ended up dong 1332 damage and 5 kills with it x) with a lousy blackjack against clans XD
gamescore at the end where 332 i so LOLd hard

streak crows are out in force since... well.. it was possible. and its overused already.
in CW i seen LORD's dropping with streaks on each mech.
on a adder, on a crow, on a timber.
on literally everything.
not that you have to fear light mechs in CW alot especially when you have to defend .
but as soon as they get a nerf people will cry again, not seeing why they got nerfed. because of nothing but themselves.

Is there any better feeling when piloting a locust, and you come upon a LRM boat with no backup weapons??
