Or, take a Spider.
Whack an AC10 (or LBX10), 1-3T of ammo, a Small/Medium laser and 2 Jump Jets and a Std100 on there.

Go see how you do.
I bet it'll surprise you.

I ended up dropping my AC10 down to an AC2 in my spider. I felt guilty of a crime against my team running around at about 54 kph ...but then I got two kills in my second match.

IMHO, we'll be able to adjust the speed up above 64 kph, and add additional lasers - it'll be effective so long as it isn't too large (and no - it doesn't need 360 degree torso twist).

Nah the Urbie can expect a whole boatload of positive quirks that will make it the perfect portable turret. Just wait you'll see. #UrbieTidePride

Edit: Also the Clans felt that it deserved a IIC version so I think its worth more than "shittiest mech"

I'm currently running an AC2 in my LCT-PB, and I got 2 kills last night. (it's head mounted so great for hill humping).

Think of quirks like:
small laser cool down 25%
laser cool down 25%
small laser range 25%
laser range 25%
small laser duration 12.5%
laser duration 12.5%
ballistic cool down 20%
ac/10 cool down 20%

Quirk it like the Locust 1V - it's limited to 1 energy slot, so it isn't overpowering with it's single ERLL.
It's hammer time!

Who would possibly want such a PoS mech that a shadowhawk does better builds?!?! This will never be the most popular inner sphere mech in CW and Pug matches due to it's amazing inflated hardpoints and quirks!!!one1!"

Yes, keep judging my urbie by the stock design. My 95 kph Urbie will put an AC 20 round into your back over and over even before you have the chance to even witness my urbie, Killer of titans. After it jumps right over your head.

95kph + AC20? I think you may have drank a little too much koolaid today...

30 ton mech with an xl190 engine does something like 96 kph before speed tweak. If you don't load 3 or 4 tons of ammo, and you strip some armor from an unused arm, it's actually do-able, I think.

EDIT: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...28b88b0bc404fc3

Using an xl170 engine and 1 ton of ammo. An actual Urbanmech wouldn't have hand or lower arm actuators, so it does actually have enough spaces. Speed is 101 after speed tweak.

EDIT 2: XL160 actually gives you 95kph after speed tweak, but for the same weight, you can go with an XL170.

Trying it out on smurfy....
(Post is coming)

IS: 1.5 tons (Endo)
XL 190: 9 tons (6+3HS)
AC20: 14 tons (sans ammo)
JJ: 1 ton (for 2)

Total (sans armor)
25.5

6.6 tons armor potential (STD)

You are going to be VERY under armored in that - even with just 1 ton ammo

Really? You only run stock load outs? Somehow managed to totally miss that we've got a mechlab at all?

But yeah... People want it BECAUSE it was so bad. Because we can make it awesome, and then take it to success. It's the ultimate underdog story. Everyone roots for the underdog!

D'oh! Forgot the jump jet. Removed the little bit of armor I had on the left arm and some on the head.

According to smurfy it can be done with very limited ammo. Assuming the urbie can do an rating 160 engine in MW: O.

But I do not need ammo to prove my point. The point is even then I can still kick his arse into the outer periphery using an urbie derbie.

Also used a different engine (giving you some more tonnage) :P

I came to the sudden realization that PGI is going to **** with us and ruin the quirks for the urban mech.

Imagine this. No Ac 20 quirk, No AC 10 or LBX 10 quirk, instead we get a variant with Ac2 quirk and the rest have pulse laser and PPC quirks.

Reference: Look at the firestarter, what's it iconic for ? Flamers. What quirks it got? literally every energy weapon besides flamer.

Lol nope! I believe the stock build is the best build it can actually use. Its a freaking 30 tonner. Even Firestarter has more. And its not even that ugly.

STill shet mech dude. Your urbie's gonna run 95 kph with ac20 and 0 armor. Lmao! Good luck with that. Ac 20 on 30 ton mech. Something a firestarter or raven handles better.

Quirks gonna save it yay! Some quirks even now, cant really put certain IS mechs in pair with clan mechs, so your "yay quirks!" hopes are in vein. It's simply shet (and ugly) mech.

that's planed for a 1 on 1 just to humiliate people.

My planed AC 20 build is still listed a few pages back, it's still faster then an atlas. So I have no problems.

Also what do you mean some IS quirks can't be on par with clans? last I heard the clanners are begging for quirks because none of there mechs are on par with the firestarter, thunderbolt, etc?

In PGIs defense, if they HAD gave the Firestarter flamer quirks, the IS would have converged on Terra like flies on a lightbulb...it would have gave Community Warfare a whole new meaning...

XL 170, 101KPH tweaked.
AC20, 1 ton ammo, with only a little armor trimmed off the off arm.

Doable, but pretty thin. You'd want at least 1 ton more available to get a ML as a backup weapon. You could shave armor to get that, but... yeeek.

Sadly, to get more tonnage free via engine, you'd have to go down to 145 rank, which would need another external heat sink: this would get you going 86kph tweaked, and only save you 1/2 ton. I suppose if you shaved armor and did that, took a Small Laser as a backup weapon and 2 tons AC20 ammo, that would be about the best you could do for AC20 Urbies.

Which would probably be why the stock generic carries an AC10 - 2 more tons to play with right there

yup. IMHO, LB-X AC10 or AC5 for me. AC5 gets you plentiful ammo and saves a lot of tonnage; also it's cool enough that running SHS is practical (important alongside an XL engine and ES/FF). With decent quirks, both would be awesome fun!

ANANSIPLACEHOLDER

Gimmie one of those awesomely quirked AC5's with that bad boy, and I'll have a grand old time. As, according to Kotare above, the Urbanmech is unspeakably bad, it should get at least T5 level quirks, no? I think so. A DRG-1N style AC5 quirk would work for me :)
