Honestly, the Hunchie fits all but the "cylindrical" criteria for Urbie-themed-ness (unless we're counting JJs, and I'm not).

It's canonically urban defense, slower-than-peergroup, big-gun-toting, cylindrical mech.

Heck, the Panther fits enough of those criteria to join the club.

The Urban Club™ admits mechs like the following:
Imp (slow enough (it's 100 tons!), round(we're shallow), guns(?))
Annihilator (slow, urban defense, guns, round)
Highlander (slow, urban defense, big gun, JJs)
Flashman (because the bouncers are shallow, and it's round)
Jagermech (lifetime pass because of the "Urbie power armor" comic)
Hunchback (slow, urban defense, big gun)
Panther (slow for a light, PPC is energy AC10, Alley Cat)

I'd say the HGN-IIC, RFL-IIC (slow-for-ClanTek, gunz), HBK-IIC, could all theme nicely with an Urbie IIC and the IIC-Tek-No Club ™

/silliness

Any mech with a working neck is disqualified. Sorry, Highlander and Panther...

Hunchie... I see your argment, but Urbz don't have shoulders, yo.

I will have to pray at the altar of Urbie on this one.

Technically, nothing in MWO has a working neck.

Just sayin ...

Fair point well made but we have to have standards or next thing you know, bushwackerz will be called honorary urbies...

An urbie is an urbie. And while other mechs play well with the can, looking at you Highlander, they are not urbies.

Correkt-o! And agreed :)

Which is why I posted a set of standards. Nothing meets all of them except the Urbie itself, but can be taken as "plays nice with" items.
Cheap(- er than its peer group), slow (slow-er is better), round, big gun(-s, in comparison to peers), canonically urban defense. JJs recommended not required. Nothing else can 360 twist.

I think I draw my line at the Stalker, personally. Slow, guns, and round, yes. But ... I dunno.

Righty-o :)

Nothing can meet Urbie's standards. This is just how I go about picking mechs that go with the Urbie theme, particularly on my Urbie account. I mean, a guy's got to build an Urbi-themed dropdeck out of something, right?

See, this is where I differ, to me, the Stalker is the "Bowing Urbie"... Basically tipped over but somehow still on its feet. It has the lower engine cap too.

Devlin-er-UrbanIncognito and I have gone back and forth on this as he thinks the MWO Mauler is the proper FP companion to the Urbie and I can honestly go with the Mauler or Stalker, leaning heavier on the stalker...

...then again that might be my ECM bias speaking (I own no less than 10 Stalker 3FBs across 2 accounts set up for various types of FP engagements)

;)

For Drop decks there a bunch of mechs that play well with Urbies. My personal favorites is Highlanders. 2 Urbies, 2 Highlanders is my current drop deck. Whats yours?

On the Urbie-themed alt?

2 Annies, 2 Urbies.

I've also got some HGN-IIC variants ready for when the day comes and we can welcome the Urbie IIC into the game.

Beyond that? when something that fits my sense of the Urbie theme goes on sale, I pick it up. Never know when tonnage nerfs or other shenanigans will come up.

Or when I might need something faster for FP Conquest ... or something. I tried to make sure that I had something in each weight class that fits thematically. Really, the only thing that I'm missing is a thematically appropriate ClanTek heavy. Rofl-man IIC seems like best fit, with its considerably-lower-than-ClanTek-standard speed and lots of guns, its nature as a garrison-duty second-liner, and of course its round hat ;)

Now I just need PGI to put it in the game. :P

I'd love to have it anyway, on its own NerdCred, not just because I'm straining the bounds of credulity by goofing off about Urbie-themed ClanTek. I must really be unhealthfully tired if I've taken it this far tonight. Welp, time for bed then.

If only we didn't have that pesky minimum tonnage ...

We can do 72 Urbies for sure ... with a bunch of minimum 70-ton deck anchors >.>

what is your favorite urbanmech model?
the k9 is better than the streetsweeper I think
but for the base models the um-60. the only drawback is the lack of a torso hardpoint.
second would be the first loyalty variant um63l.

K9 is best Urbie for MWO play.

Out of the c-bill versions? The 63 or the 60L. Depends on the state of the meta.

60L for laser trading when meta allows it. HMGs and MPLs on the 63 is a bad horror flick waiting to happen. In a good way, that is. If you like being the bad guy >:3

That load out of the 63 is my go to Urbie. It is a seriously scary mech.

Not only is it a very good little mech (probably the best IS Hero mech in the light bracket), the lightbar and siren alone make it worth it!

Would love to see an IS v IS FP match with at least one wave on each side of these babies crashing into each other! :D
