You just made me run the entire audio in the background. It was 1 (Ryan) who did it. Villz is from Australia with a 2xx ping, the guy who kept calling victors autistics - he was trying out different pings to see if there is any improvement. Heim was not doing it. Nuclear weapon is from mexico, he's getting a 100 ish ping anyway. Adiuvo swears on his light ping so I can't imagine him doing it.
Well I don't know the locations your members are from, and I accept your word on face value. Villz should not use Autistic as a insult, as I know many Autistic children and a few adults, some of which would/could make him eat his words :) In under a week my son (also Autistic) learned more about Dr Who and the Power Rangers than I have in 40 years... And I watched Dr Who in the 70s an 80s!

If you are offended by my opinion I cannot help that. If you want me to change my opinion keep giving me reasons to! :)

Hmm by choosing to live in Australia am I "purposely inflating my ping" ?
290 ping on a great day when the moons align :excl:

You are someone who could/should benefit from the "research" being done by the Lords.

Quotes are there till I believe the lords altruistic reasons. :(

There is absolutely zero they can do about this. Unless there's a rule about downloading while playing it's pretty impossible to stop people from having crappy connections. Many people legitimately have crappy connections. Players tend to see the game itself as a level playing field but the truth is that the technology upon which games rely is heavily open to manipulation.

In the case of the network ping it is very easy to modify your latency and impossible to quantify that it is intentional. That's just the nature of how things work.

Although I've seen some "bouncing" mechs around I can't wrap my head around the idea of deliberately increasing one's ping.

I usually play at 130-140 ping, it is a pain to hit lights (and some other mechs) with 40- ping and always makes me think how useful would be to have a server located on the same continent.

If someone has a high ping will always have trouble to get hits on the enemy (and the enemy will experience the same), but in a practical pov, don't think it will help the player either.

People have trouble hitting him but he can't do much to fight back...

@ PGI: Some servers closer to other players would really be nice, though

A few issues that probably are more of a concern than the VPN issue alone. First is the issue of proof. Right now the big thing is when someone dies and their team loses its VPN hackers that won. Of course if it wasn't that it was something else. Connectivity to the internet is so diverse what really is the problem?

No one seemed to notice the comment in the chat log suggesting that the issue goes beyond just a VPN connection. The comment basically eluded that they know how to manipulate HSR but aren't telling . I'm laughing about that. VPN makes a nice smokescreen

Lastly is probably the only thing viable beyond the ones with knowledge coming clean on how to "game" HSR. And that is ( with the issue actually being VPN alone). And that is what is wrong with the game that can allow a sweet spot in the ping range in the first place

My ping averages 67 -100. Depending on what else is going on the internet in my house hold. I never thought about my ping much till now but I do know I never had hit reg probs before HSR.

At this point I simply point to the game appearing to be the biggest obstacle in this issue at the moment.

Pretty much this.

Just about anyone with sub 100 ping had no problems hitting until HSR.

Let's just get an inner sphere divorce... All lords go the nam euro servers and I finally get to play with a low ping on the Asia aussie server..

sure we will end up with Villz, but hey small price to pay...

If you think the seal clubbing is bad in Asia prime time wait until we get our own servers..

All these people paying for a VPN to raise their ping, i'd pay $10 a month to a get my ping down to 80 :P I think blackholes might have to be involved to make that happen :)

Just get rid of the thought Nkac.

You have problems because people like me the 250ms++ international high ping crowd exists.
Before HSR it was very very bad for us.. Can you imagine not being able to use ALL Direct fire weapons effectively ALL the time ?

If PGI ever decides to create regional servers, we will buzz off there instead. Less inconvenience for NA people.

Thank you all for keeping this looking like a discussion, I may have started with my Jimmies in a twist, but I was open to discussion, I am satisfied with the Lords replies for the most part.

Also, You have been sharing info as a whole which helps dispel the evil Pre made tag. I probably went about it the wrong way, for that I am sorry. I won't say I will never do it again, but I will say I only do it cause I love the Universe we play in. :)

Something complete different. Just had a match when we had one last teammember. P- down a couple of times untill some guys on the opposite team said "Tell us, do you really want us to wait 7 minutes". He was just trying to see if one of our teammembers would spoil his location.

My god. Sometimes the people are just trolling or whatever it may be named. I should have reported that guy trying to persuade others for breaking the rules.

Trying to upset your own team is sad. Trying to upset the enemy is Psychological warfare. And a valid weapon in anyone's arsenal.

Spoiling a location one of your team members is against the rules.
