Here is hoping that the general MWOMERC population picks up mumble.  After having used quite a few different programs I have found mumble to have the least amount of lag, and the highest quality.  It also does a great job of autoleveling volume.

Anyway, what's your take?

When me and my faction get some premades yes I'll use some kind of voice chat. Who wouldn't? In fact they could build this into the game but if you do, please have the option to turn it OFF in pug games. I don't like random kiddy rage.

I still hope they will put it in game voice function. I just don't want to have to pay to play with people on a free to play game.

I will second the ability to turn off in game voip (if it exists). Pug bg chatter typically makes me want to alt-f4.

I can't imagine this game without voice communication. Imagine you typing in the heat of combat!

Yeah games like this really need some sort of in game voice chat. there's no way you're able to communicate with your lance mates by typing the whole match lol.

I'll state you must have VOIP in game for effective communication between non related groups organized or not.

I use TS3 the most because it is what my Eve online friends use for the most part but mumble is a pretty good software.

It's a good set up but we really need a in game voice chat that most won't have to pay for.

I'll use whatever everyone else is using since I have the 3 major ones... but I hope there is some kind of ingame VOIP because it would really suck when you are dropping in a random game with no regular lancemates and you can't talk to the rest of your team

That is one thing I hate about the new BF3... no voice chat unless you are grouped in the browser into a party channel with your friend list,
but on the other hand it is annoying when those random people don't have their mic setup correctly and you get their TV show in your mic or they are 7 years old and talking about Saturday morning cartoons instead of the Atlas about to smash through your ranks.

I guess the moral of the story is don't drop with randoms, but how can I make new friends? :)

I prefer vent or teamspeak - tried mumble and hated it.

Most likely vent - TS 3 makes it too easy for spies with the ability to log into two servers simultaneously and switch quickly between them. Unless they've put safeguards in against that kinda thing, of course.

Dude seriously why would you create a poll and formulate the possible answers that biased? If you just want people to be your opinion, directly ask for it! But if you want honest and representative results, pay a little more attention to that.

TS3 is best out of them all.

My intention was more to champion mumble, than to find what people were going to use, but you are right in that I hate when people tac on superfluous language to poll options so I edited them. I do hope people take a second look at mumble, and or consideration rather than just go with the popular choice.

Mumble has been the best for me. It has much less of a delay than Skype, which saves lives in faster-paced games, and the overlay can actually be pretty helpful when playing in pickup groups where you don't know everybody by voice.

It seems like Vent is still the most popular VOIP over here in NA though, which is too bad since it doesn't really have any compelling advantages over Mumble.

My comapny uses TS3, but I personally prefer mumble for the overlay. It's great being able to tell who the hell is talking until you can get names linked to voices.

I use either TS3 or Ventrillo. I don't care for Mumble really. Just personal opinion.

I disagree, too many other providers doit better than ingame options.
