I know the rules for how its weight works, thank you though. I meant how will it function in MWO.

since in TT it only works for direct fire weapons (AC's, lasers, PPC's, etc), and is supposed ot boost your accuracy, i'd say the simpleist way would be to have it do like real world targeting computers do.. put a small aiming circle ahead of the designated target that automatically adjusts for target speed and such. then all you'd have to do is put your reticle over that aiming circle and pull the trigger.

in TT there is also the option for specific targeting of arms/legs/torso's, etc.. albeit at a penalty, not a bonus. that could be handled by it highlighting the target's hitboxes on your HUD.. aiming could work like it currently does (no aiming circle assist) but that would make picking out a specific spot to shoot easier..

targeting comps would be easier to code than the command console.. TC's just assist your aim. command consoles are supposed to be basically a mobile HQ center where a commander can give orders to other mechs in the unit and manage a battle. something that is a lot less concrete a concept.

To help handle the massive heat generated by its ER PPCs, the Adder also comes equipped with 11 double-heat sinks, though a moderate use of chain-fire is recommended to prevent excessive overheating.

Primary configuration adds a powerful arsenal of two ER PPCs and an extra double heat sink to cook off the extra heat.

I scoffed out loud. Dual ERPPC requires about 16 DHS to not be a complete waste of time and 20 to be effective.

If you really run slowly with it, people might think it's a Daishi and run away...

well fortunately you dont even have to throttle down, because its normal speed is slow.

Those arms look excellent with great detail! Oooh and legs I love those toes that dip down, it fits so perfect to how imagine that "crawling" "stalking" look. and I love how it looks like it could just fold up and hold it in my hand.

But I don’t like pumas….
And the speed is atrocious so I probably won’t be playing one lol. But it looks sweet.

Can't we get screenshots of it in the each of the invading clans colors. Oh yes I totally love seeing Clan Jade falcon colors.

Do you think that would be worth 3 tons though? Are these things removable or are they hardwired like the jump jets?

You're a light mech bringing 2 clan ERPPCs to the battlefield. If you play it properly*, it'll be very effective.

*i.e. you're not a scout

they should be removable. they are on TT, and there is little reason not to keep that aspect.** as for whether it is worth it... guess it would depend on how things work out. i know i'd love a aiming boost for long range sniping. heck, i'd kill for a TC like that on my -K2 or Blackjack -1DC.

but if your naturally good at figuring lead times and deflection shots, you might not need it much.

** the only omnimech to imply a fixed TC is the Warhawk/masakari.. but even there it isn't actually fixed since the mass and crits change with the config.. its just fluff about how every version mounted a TC. every other omni to carry a TC does so only on one or two configs.

"it’s a decently fast ‘Mech"

Yeah! For a Heavy 'Mech! Wait...

"11 Double Heatsinks"

A lot of good that will do you firing 2 ER PPCs! A stock Raven 2X literally has about the same heat efficiency.

"Fixed flamer"

Who would want to take that off anyway! Flamers are OP! Am I right? Am I right?!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The appearance is fine but the rest of the thing is a joke. The only thing this will stand up to is the Locust and the other equally useless Clan light mech'.

Neutering the Clan Lights was the last straw for me. Not spending another dime on this game.

for a heavy? it's a 210XL on a 35 ton frame.. that's as good as a commando or raven. and faster than all but the lightest heavies can possibly achieve..

the Adder prime isn't a scout or a backstabber. its a mobile sniper that engages at long range.

Looks perfect!
My only concern/wish that the cowl surrounding the cockpit fuselage should only be side torso hitboxes and leave the inside of that (or part of) and the fuselage as the center torso hitbox
Do that to the Adder and Direwolf and will have neat feature for torso twisting

To be fair, it is not the first mech who's stock build didn't work in game. It certainly won't be keeping up with IS lights but Clan tactics may differ wildly from IS. The IS can't really account for a pack of Adders and Storm Crows running around at 107kph followed closely by Timber Wolfs.

I'm actually a bit worried that IS may not be able to link up all of their lances before one gets picked off.

The bitching about PGI closely following canon and lore is entertaining.

...but not as entertaining as those that STILL have no clue how the OmniMech customization rules will be in-game and how good* it will be.

It's the least clan-like of the clan mechs. Which is, of course, why it's my favorite. Because F those Clanners. My Puma is salvage!

actually clan tactics are "long range precision, fast moving, hard hitting".. so the Puma is actually one of the most clan like of the clan mechs.

you just have to remember that there are trade offs.. yeah its not super fast.. but super fast means either shorter range or less firepower. the clans are willing to sacrifice some speed to gain range and punch.

Well considering there's not much you can modify on a clan 'mech it pretty much is what you buy is what you get. Sure you can throw some different arms on there but the thing is still way too slow to be competitive. The IS lights will do fine against this I promise you.

I'm gonna bet that whoever was responsible for modelling this mech is NOT the same as that who did the Timberwolf. Put the Timberwolf person(s) on bathroom duty and let the Adder team re-do it.

TLDR; looks good.

Looks like it'll play pretty much like the 2 ppc cicadas that you see from time to time. They can't max engine either - but they can go 121.5 pre-tweak - http://mwo.smurfy-ne...dcca88fe08d34ca
