I am right there with ya on your statement there about wasting money on this. It looks great, i can even deal with the flamer... but last we were told you cant mess with the engine sizes on these clan mechs which means this thing will be operating at 60% of the speed of a jenner (exact same weight). Theres really nothing good about this mech when you compare it to a Jenner F. very very slow with no jump jets with 30 pin point damage.... compared to a very very fast jenner with jumpjets... and in the hands of a good pilot the jenner also gets 30 pinpoint damage. Furthermore, lets talk role warfare here. Almost any IS medium has the capability to chase this thing down and murder it. Especially the Shadowhawk. There are only two strengths that make piloting a light mech viable. Those are stealth or speed. This has neither.

Playing devils advocate now, remember that Clan mechs will be harder to kill since you have to destory both side torsos assuming you aren't gunning straight for the center.

How do you get a thirty pin point damage on the Jenner?

i think he's assuming the 6 medium laser build.

which ignores the fact the clan dual ERPPC on the Adder can do its damage from almost 4x the range..

if we're talking role warfare, your not going to be comparing this to a jenner. the adder is not a fast in your face scout. its a mobile sniper. the closest currently in the game are the dual PPC cicada's running around right now.. and those seem to do just fine at the same speed, and armor.. and the adder has more punch.

For those who care, the secondayr weapons for each config are all in the torsos. Thus you can have the following torsos for the adders

1E + 1E
1E + 1B
1E + 1M
1M + 1B
1M + 1M

The fixed flamer is a really horrible idea.... why would you force your players to lug a useless weapon around ? Bypass canon and give it a bigger engine.

Seriously now, you can't tell me that nobody on the design team sees that this thing's lack of speed will be a huge problem....

Damn good job. DAMN GOOD JOB! This is what I was hoping for in the Adder. Hell yeah! The fixed flamer addition is fantastic. Useless in this game, but sticks to the actual design on the 'Mech itself.
Design team, thank you for doing a damn good job on this. Now go back and redo the Timberwolf.

Now. Let's see us some STORMCROW Screenies!!

This mech looks awesome, but what is it that is so wrong with the timberwolf renders? It looks fine to me. The legs MIGHT be a little long, but it's hard to tell from the screens. Other than that, it looks fine (I even saw a render adjustment someone did to "fix" it, and couldn't tell the difference between the fan render and the original....am I just blind or what?).

That said, the Adder is beautiful and looks like a baby Dire Wolf!. I cannot wait until the invasion begins, and we can bring honor to our clan and defeat to freebirth surats.

x6 ML

Not technically pin point but with steady hands can be nearly as effective - just at closer range.

Or that the Alpha has a 58 point alpha between the two  cLRM20 and twin ERMlas.

That is not pinpoint by anyone's definition.

Welcome to a thing called lore. The fixed flamer is stuck there, you cannot remove it. That is the way it has worked since the beginning, and that is the way it works now.

The Adder doesn't seem to me to be intended as scout like the Jenner and the other IS mechs currently in the game; looking at the various configurations it seem it's suppose to be basically a pocket Catapult.

They haven't. I always though cERPPCs did 13 damage... I hope they retain the damage and range increase over IS PPCs, and just increase heat and recycle time.

You forget that our IS ER PPCs already produce 15 heat... if the Clan versions are any hotter they will be completely unusable. Even the current ER PPCs are hugely hot. So hot in fact that you can't realistically even use them in pairs.

Clan ERPPC have always been 15 for 15. Damage and heat. High heat but worth it for the damage.

quite a few clan mechs did, one of the reasons the leaders of the IS states thought the clans might be non-humans, at least until the first reliable intel reports arrived.
the Elemental Battle armor didn't help in that regard either. :)

i assume that is "RT + LT" ?
if so, i want to take the prime, slot in two missile torso pods, and build myself a sorta-Cougar

I know how to get everyone to forget about the flamer.

Anyone here know what the targeting computer does? It has a dynamic weight and appears to weigh 3 tons on the Adder Prime. As far as I know its a Clan Command Console. Can it be removed?
