This is basically the main reason the IS is better than the clans, because clan cockpits are notoriously ****** to be in for the weeks at a time the fluff implies.

Clan technology: smaller, harder hitting, able to reach farther.
IS technology: hella cool, lots of legroom, maximum chillaxing, party to the extreme 1999!

It's easy to tell who had their important priorities straight!

A couple of Clan Wolf-in-Exile 'Mechs are escorting a Steiner Atlas, and their pilots are chatting to pass the time. Talk comes ‘round to the relative merits of their respective battlemechs. Of course the Clan pilots contend that their mechs were better because of their superior speed, maneuverability, weaponry, and so forth, while the putting down the Atlas' deficiencies in these areas.

After taking this for a while, the Atlas pilot says, "Oh yeah? Well, I can do a few things in this old girl that you'd only dream about." Naturally, the clanners challenge him to demonstrate.

"Just watch," comes the quick retort.

And so they watch. But all they see is that Atlas continuing to walk straight ahead....

After several minutes the Atlas pilot comes back on the air, saying "There! How was that?"

Not having seen anything, the Clanner pilots reply, "What are you talking about? What did you do?"

And the Atlas pilot replies, "Well, I got up, stretched my legs, got a cup of coffee, then went back an took a leak."

Remember that was a Steiner mech so the cockpit also had a guest room.

Still better than WoB mechs. I mean, they are even cooler than the Clan ones, but the cockpit is almost non-existent. :)

To stand with this House is to stand with comrades everywhere. Not to take the easy path, or debase oneself in the pursuit of riches, but to give oneself utterly to the People, and the People utterly to him. What is war? War is struggle. There are difficulties and problems in those places for us to overcome and solve. We go there to work and struggle to overcome these difficulties. A good comrade is one who is more eager to go where the difficulties are greater.

We are also the rudest dudes who love to party.

Ah, thank you very much for the clarification Helmer. You are a good mod!

Cool reasons to join the Capellan Confederation include: having fun with cool friends in a chill place for buddies.

In another army you might get yelled at for stuff and that's pretty uncool, we here at the Capellan Confederation think it's better to 'take it slow', 'take it easy', 'rock the shades and hang ten', you might say we are 'pretty tubular!'

Pictured here: a chill Capellan Mechwarrior 'TCBing' ( Taking Care Of Party Approved And Accepted Business Practices Relating To The Maintenance And Care Of Hair, Facial Or Otherwise.) in his cool battlebot! Do you not want to be just like him?

If all the above mentioned is not yet enough to sway you towards Liao, consider that we have (IMHO) the most awesome military elite unit of the Inner Sphere: Death Commandos (http://www.sarna.net...Death_Commandos) and if even that is not enough .... well the house emblem colour GREEN is most defniatly the coolest and beats all others  !

I was thinking green as in BIO....that's another reason to join Liao! We take care of trash!! (double meaning here)

Barely affected as in taking over Clan believes or holding themselves together and have enough strike force...?

Liao Planets are based so far away from where the Clan invades they never really make it down to us. At least I think that's right, i'm sure there will be someone who had a more accurate understanding

The most that the Capellan Confederation ever really did in canon was send the Red Lancers to aid in Operation Bulldog. Of course, now that the PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION is in full swing, history means nothing! Long live the GPCCCS!

Truth. Inner Sphere standard cockpits DO come with a toilet.

Clan ones don't. Canonically.

Three guesses why Clanners are grumpy a lot.

I hope your post in the House Marik forum was the same template.

Why join house Marik?  You shouldn't, you should join House Marik instead.

I think we have a winner here.

Eh, not surprising actually, given how fractured the FWL is, politically speaking.
Give it a few decades, and there won't even be a FWL.

The class struggle, which is always present to a historian influenced by The Mittani, is a fight for the crude and material things without which no refined and spiritual things could exist. Nevertheless, it is not in the form of the spoils which fall to the victor that the latter make their presence felt in the class struggle. They manifest themselves in this struggle as courage, humor, cunning, and fortitude. They have retroactive force and will constantly call in question every victory, past and present, of the rulers. As flowers turn toward the sun, by dint of a secret heliotropism the past strives to turn toward that sun which is rising in the sky of history. A historical mittanierialist must be aware of this most inconspicuous of all transformations.
