These need to come with a point of Elementals attached. They will need the extra armor.

Hm. That would have been a better offer than gold(ish) paint actually.

Should get all the Gold Mechs for 500. No Value really in buying these other than "Status". Status meaning I got money to blow. Which I did!! Still thought pretty sour at this company for the lack of Value they give us with these extravagant Collections. At very Least we should get more camo, paint etc... but ALAS I will support cause they are only Battletech in town. ONLY because of that.

Funny, I was not offended by the golden 'Mechs. If people want to buy them, they can go ahead. Why complain about them supporting this game?

Because the prices are ridiculous to start with? People aren't complaining about others who are supporting this game, they're mocking those who are plunking down $240 for a DIGITAL 'limited skin.'

MechWarrior has been one of my four favorite games since 1998, and I've played a lot of games.
I bought a Gold Khan Mech (Summoner) simply because I want to assist PGI by providing some more funding for them to work with in improving MWO.
I listen to the podcasts, I view the YouTube interviews with the Devs, and I read quite a bit in these forums and though there are a million complaints and the game isn't perfect, I'm patient.

I had some extra money saved up and all my bills were paid so though I know it's extremely overpriced I decided to get one.
Again, this is because I love the MechWarrior games.

I always have. I always will.

Love the feedback and am happy you love the games. I love the games as well.
In the interests of providing a different point of view I'll say that I've already contributed over $300 because I too love the MechWarrior games and wanted to see a new/updated entry in the series.

That contribution included founders, phoenix and saber packages (plus more). It does not include any of the Clan packages. These previous contributions were based on my desire to see another MechWarrior game and a willingness to support PGI/IGP on the vision they laid out.

After nearly 2 years I'm not overly impressed with the progress made on the game. Not saying what is there isn't fun, but the progress towards that vision to me as a potential "investor" is not impressive. I'll not be purchasing content sight unseen any more until I see much more significant execution on the vision I originally decided to fund. Still love the MechWarrior franchise, still hope to see it succeed.

For me it's not an issue of "investing" in MechWarrior so much as an issue "investing" in PGI/IGP and their ability to execute. They got a couple rounds of funding from me. They now have to execute and earn the trust of this "investor" going forward that was originally given to them based on my fondness for MechWarrior and approval of a vision for the game they laid out.

This is just a different opinion. I hope the game succeeds and I hope to one day contribute again. PGI/IGP will have to earn that trust now instead of getting it on "blind faith".

I don't have the $55 to buy 1 Clan mech a la cart. Let alone the money to replace my naga mouse now that the scroll wheel is broken : /

I think they should be giving away life-time premium account with them. That would be pretty good value and they would sell a ton.

The fact that these things even exist shows how out of touch this game is with the entire Battletech universe. Clan warriors would find such a display of wealth an abhorrent waste of resources.

This game will never be a faithful representation of the Battletech universe and even if some form of CW ever arises it can never be what some of us are looking for while the marketing attitude that produced these gold monstrosities overrules faithfulness to the subject material. I'm not even talking about sticking to the TT rules, it's fine if they don't because they might not work in an online shooter, but the only thing that links this game to Battletech right now is the look of the mechs.

Sadly, I think what we have now is all we'll ever have. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

People still complaining about a $500 gold mech + package deal? If you aren't buying who cares. These are obviously for people who want the gold mech and want a limited edition version as well as helping the producers. If you people can't understand this then I don't know what to say. Does it put a gold paint out of your value reach? Sure. But who really cares.

Also to those people who are going to team kill <insert bad words> because you act childish.

Something I'm pretty sure everyone is overlooking in this picture (not going back through the rest of this thread to check) is that these mechs show the special pre-order geometry for the MadCat (rounded leg armor, shoulder roll-bars) that everyone was screaming about a couple weeks ago when the first in-game screenshots of the (standard) MadCat showed up.

Seeing a lot of "I don't play or buy the product anymore, but here's some criticism" posts. To those making those posts, you've got no leg to stand on. Let the people qualified to critique do so; that would be the active players, not you.

I still intend to knock off those silly looking hunches with a few well-placed volleys and then stand triumphantly on the first Mad Cat I see, dancing a jig all over its neutered face. The skin doesn't matter to me.

I don't know if you knew this, but you don't have to be an active player of the game to criticize the game's horrible pricing scheme.

So, it's commendable to support the game when you get loads of ingame stuff for your money, but if you dish out over twice more than the others for practically nothing extra but a "I paid a lot"-sign, it's something to ridicule instead? >_>

Logically, I'd expect that to be even more commendable, that's basically donating money to fund the development of the game. The only reason I can see for any sort of negative feelings about this is if you're butthurt that something superficial is priced out of your reach. And isn't that just petty?

Ya know, ironically, if PGI had been "reasonable" and offered a $500 package which came with the Maskari pack and a golden version of each mech, I'd likely have purchased it. Instead they lost $240 by only offering a single mech.

I really hope those gold mechs come with tickets to PAX or something because they do seem ridiculous.

For me, there is not yet enough playable content to justify buying into this. I would pay $240 for planetaries, drop ships, some sort of timeline and ongoing story even if its not canon, a way for players to have duels, trials, custom drops, and a MWO chat lobby we can create ready rooms in and launch from. Gold mech? I support PGI's special sales but this one never made alot of sense to me. It should have come out after CW.
