what if you already have all of those things ?
Then you will live a beautiful life filled with beautiful things . Besides that there always room for upgrading gear.
For example the STAX SR009 headphone for $4450 USD:
Which requires a special amplifier, the best of which is the Blue Hawaii SE which costs $5596:
I've always wanted a pair of Genelec 8040B monitors, $2195 each:
Supposedly the best studio/broadcast loudspeaker monitors ever made.
I also would upgrade my computer using a dual socket workstation motherboard, the Asus Z9PE-D8 ($649):
Then also get two Intel Xeon E5-4650 8 core processors ($4179) each which are basically i7s on steroids. Then buy 4 Nvidia Titan Black GPUs which aren't available yet but rumoured to be $999 each.
There's too much real stuff to buy before having extra money for gold mechs. These things are all easily achievable within your lifetime anyways, the real fantasy stuff is like owning a Lamborghini Aventador ($400,000). Those that don't live in their parent's basement also have to pay off mortgages as well. The more principle you keep on your mortgage the more money you lose through interest so paying off mortgages will actually earn you money in the long run. Buying a gold mech does not earn you money.

Do you know why? They probably get enough revenue off standard puchases and other bundles. Reason #2 is: its ******* stupid.
Its your money and you have every right to spend it how you wish, doesnt change the fact its extremely questionable.
Somehow I think you like Jeep as a manufacturer, not love them as a manufacturer
And, not trying to be a complete jerk or anything, but I doubt you have any idea what you'd "hold back" from spending money on if you were a millionaire because you don't know what a millionaire thinks like.
And regarding your "reason #2," of course, like everyone else here in the forums, you're entitled to your opinion
Quick question for you: what Clan mech did you buy?

We can sell $500 virtual paint? Why is our most expensive mech ~$50?

Artificially capping sales of an unlimited good is probably not a good business practice.

Isn't just a "look how much cash I have more than you" exercise?
How many of these will be teamkilled?
PGI please focus on things like CW-that'll bring the dollars in more than any mech sales. You can't compete with Wargaming, and you won't pull off a WoT style hamster wheel money grind.
What you CAN do though, is provide a better game than that. you CAN do it and if you do, the money will flow. You have a great IP-USE IT.

Just going to throw this out there, but you know that the Overlord pack (or even Founders) you bought was of limited supply, right? You can't buy them anymore, so you bought into a limited digital good. I see plenty of people in this thread who bought into a limited digital good, and seemed to be just fine with it.

I've lived long enough with too little money to know I wouldn't squander it on such a frivolous thing as gold plating for a video game 'Mech, if I were given an exorbitant amount of money. I would secure myself financially as well as my loved ones, donate a LARGE portion of it to charities. I'm a simple person, I don't need a lot of money.
I bought the Timberwolf singular package. Why?

I personally have no issue with "limited"* but I do have an issue with extreme pricing.
*I would also argue that the Founders Packages and Phoenix Packages were not limited in the same sense. Although its true that there may only be 50 more gold mechs here, realistically, there is an infinite amount, and to add, they probably didn't even set a real amount to intentionally be limited by. I personally would view limited as in a truly limited amount, as in, there (although unlikely) is only 50 gold mechs left, if I was insane and spend 25,000, and decided to get another mortgage, I would have every single mech left. I would own the only 50 left, in contrast, I could have gotten as many founder/phoenix packs as I wanted, they are not limited in amount but limited in time. If the last 50 gold mechs never got sold would they disappear or be available forever?
